  1. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 01:12 PM) I Hope you like it Rowand. Wow Dep, thanks a ton.
  2. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 12:00 PM) Ok, this really doesnt have alot to do with the game thread, but my boredom at work is killing me. I was just checking the power rankings on SI.com, and I cannot help but notice that Dan George bears a uncanny resemblance to Paul McCartney. My random thought of the day. On to the game, what kind of an out pitch does Houlton have? I havent heard much about him, other than his last start was pretty good(against the twins?). hopefully the AL Central can continue the domination of the dodgers via the White Sox. I dont expect anything less than a series win. Game thread is below, bud
  3. Rogers picks are mostly solid but a couple had me scratching my head. In his rotation: Garland Buehrle Prior El Duque He picked Burnitz over Dye that's basically a toss up so no problem there. Patterson over Rowand is the real horrendous one, that's not even close. Arow>>>>Patterson
  4. QUOTE(HSC's Biggest Fan @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 11:32 AM) Valid point but on paper they were one of the best teams in baseball Buerhle was their number three pitcher. To go with the thought of this string the 2003 team was better than this team. Plus Garland had an era under 4 in the 2nd half of that year, Damaso and Flash were unhittable with Sully and Kelly in the bullpen as well. On paper that 03 team was as good as there was. I said they would have been a very tough out because of the starters they would have been able to throw out there in the playoffs. Anyways on paper yes that 03 team was better but this is a better team no doubt in my mind.

    QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 11:45 AM) Here's an article from a few days ago which mentions Getz and the 10th round pick from the Miami area who'll be assigned to Great Falls: http://www.greatfallstribune.com/apps/pbcs...322/1006/NEWS17

    QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) Did Brooks sign, I hadn't seen that anywhere. Not yet.
  7. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 11:11 AM) but it's 43-22 combined with the fact the yankees, red sox and twins aren't what they once were. if the white sox were 43-22 at this point last year, i wouldn't be nearly as optimistic as i am now. btw, when does this ======> come in handy? This is the best team the twins have had since their run began imo.
  8. QUOTE(whitesox91403 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 11:07 AM) I really appreciate everyone's help: Just to clarify. I55 North to Dan Ryan South (Toward Indiana) Exit 35th St Past 35th St towards 37th and will be waved in just before 37th Also: Is the Dan Ryan 355 or 294 or somethign else? I'm actually better with the numbers and is this a lot you have to pay in? I'll let someone else answer the highway question just incase I f*** up again :banghead But yes it's a paylot, 17 bucks just like the rest of the lots.
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 10:58 AM) He's coming from I55... he'll be going south on the Dan Ryan. No turns necessary. Steff, I have no clue where I55 is, I just misread your post. Don't mind me, I'm absolutely retarded when it comes to directions. I'm trying to help and I'm just making things more complicated.
  10. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 10:53 AM) Note, when you exit at 35th St. you will have to make a quick left hand turn onto Wentworth - going south. Then as Steff says, you'll see them waving you into the church lot on your right hand side, just before 37th St. Depends which way you're coming from. If you're coming from the north on the ryan and get off on the 35th street exit then you just go straight. EDIT: Nevermind, he's going north not south, sorry about that.
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 10:49 AM) Damn he was rolling and then took that line drive off of the chest and was never the same again. Its sad really. He was actually a decent 5th starter before that shot, it's to bad.
  12. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 10:41 AM) Interesting but not a total shock. They are really shaking things up in Charlotte, I would not be surprised to see them sign a few veteran pitchers off the scrap heap. I'm surprised a bit he actually wasn't doing to poor but like you said it looks like they just want to shake things up.
  13. The division is still very top heavy imo. I think the Sox and Twins are the two best teams in the al but after that I don't think to highly of any of the other 3 teams and that's including the Indians.
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 10:37 AM) Bakker to Kanny. I'll have the FS PR up shortly. Awesome, it was just a matter of time. Now we get to see him dominated Winston Salem. I wonder when Liotta gets the call up as well??
  15. QUOTE(rafacosta @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 10:09 AM) Changing subject? Well kind of, I was just mentioning that cause supposidely(sp?) it happened before this interview.
  16. On Silvy and Carmen Bruce Levine is on and said that before the interview Padilla came up to Buehrle and said "I'm rooting for you guys to lose this weekend cause I'm a Dodgers fan." If that's true that's one of the most unprofessional things I've ever heard.
  17. QUOTE(Randar68 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 10:02 AM) He's always projected to more power than he's shown, but he's a pretty good hitter and patient... If he ever figures out how to hit the ball with good carry in game-situation, you could see that power show up down the road. He hits the ball hard regularly... The guy is a monster you'd think he has some hidden power. I'm sure his linedrives into the gap in the met will turn into some homeruns in Charlotte, wouldn't you think?
  18. QUOTE(Randar68 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 09:54 AM) That's just my feel for it. Daigle is a good guy to have in the clubhouse, but there are several really good guys, a few with leadership skills on the BHam roster right now, so what does that say? I don't know, I have always kind of wondered how long anyone could keep a guy like Razor around before he talked/acted his way out of town... We'll see. He makes things fun when they're winning, but man is it a b**** to be around him when they are losing... that's my opinion anyway, I could be off... Rogo is the only hitter worthy of promotion in AA (that isn't already being pushed (Owens and Young)... and Daigle just so happens to play the same position and be on fire a level lower... It makes sense. Rogo's time is the near future, IMO, gotta see what he can do in AAA unless they are showing him off for trade... Completely agreed, I know I'm very interested to see how much his power numbers increase while in Charlotte. I also kind of wonder if he has a legit shot to replace Pauly if he's not resigned after this season, I guess his time in Charlotte will prove that one way or another.
  19. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 09:43 AM) My Spidey Sense tells me.. I think tonight will be near 32K.. tomorrow about the same and Sunday maybe a little lighter. The weather is supposed to be awesome all weekend. Mid 70's and Sunny all weekend
  20. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 09:50 AM) Why would we want him? I don't know if you guys have noticed, but he is horrendous this year. He has probaly worn out his welcome in Boston, and some GM would be willing to take a chance on him. I could defiantly see him being traded. We made the mistake of trading him because he soured on our manager after a bad few months. Keith's a great closer he'll be perfectly fine, imo.
  21. Last year I'd agree with that assessment. In 03 if they got into the playoffs they would have been a tremendously tough out.
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 09:48 AM) Kentucky 'y'all'. I'll be coming FROM the south. Ya, that's what I thought so my directions should actually be correct for once.
  23. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 09:38 AM) The church? It's right off the 35th exit, I could be wrong cause I'm absolutely terrible with directions but I believe for you coming from Kentucky when you'd get off at the 35th exit, you'd make a left at the stop light right in front of the cell and then it's the first parking lot and they'll be waving people in.
  24. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 09:39 AM) Yeah, it's not too shabby. It's literally off the exit and you run right into it when trying to get into the USCF pay lots. I love it cause after the game you get back on the highway right away, it's fantastic.
  25. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 09:38 AM) That lot is going to be packed several hours before the game.. good if you're with a group.. bad if you're alone. Ya, well it depends what game he's going to I guess. I'm actually probably taking the el for that series just cause last year it was the most ridiculous thing ever to get in and out of the lots for me. Also for the Sunday game they have real church so that lot will be closed, forgot about that. Still if you're going there Friday or Saturday and get there early enough you should be ok.
