  1. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 02:10 PM) I'd go with that. However, they could grab Gio for the world team or however it works (Isn't that how they do it sometimes?). In 03 it was Cotts and Ring so it doesn't necessarily have to be a world and a usa guy. I'd go with Anderson and Bmac too they seem like the most likely candidates, however if they do want a world guy from the sox it'd have to be Gio.
  2. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 02:12 PM) This coming from a guy who started a trade for A-Rod, and a trade for Omar Vizquel thread? On the basis of, his opinion? And now Nomar? Unbelievable... Mueller has only had one good year? News to me. Since '96, his lowest OBP has been .333, while over his career he has averaged a .374 OBP. He's posted OPS+ of 140, 124, 120, 110, 109, and 106 -- only twice dipping below league average. Please... think a little before you type. He comes up with big hits too and is just a tough out, period. I know you guys love it when I throw around this word but Mueller is clutch.
  3. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) How about his entire career? He had an exceptional 2003 season, but that shouldnt hinder the fact that he has been a good ballplayer for years. Ya, I was actually just going to correct myself, I just recall he's been real good these last 3 years then I looked at his career stats and he's been a very good hitter his whole career. .291 career hitter with a .375 career obp.
  4. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 01:36 PM) Bill-I-had-one-great-year-Mueller Have you seen his stats the past 3 years?? He's not a one year wonder.
  5. I give Mariotti 2 more years tops in this city. The sox keep drawing more and more fans in there "inferior complex" and because of that attendance is going to be within reach of 85-90 mill within the next two years and then he won't be able to b**** about how people don't come to the park because it's inferior and that JR is cheap, guess what take that stuff away and he has nothing to write about. It sucks to be you Mariotti.
  6. The sox organization is by far the best I've seen when it comes to things like this, absolutely fantastic job.

    What, The Aussie????? Just playin, Congrats DBAHO, you deserve it
  8. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 05:17 AM) I can't remember which thread Brad Lidge is mentioned, so I'll put this little blurb from Barry Rozner here: See, there ya go Jordan, Crede for Lidge straight up
  9. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 04:33 AM) Bump! Looks like people are talking about this guy now. Kind of hard to look past those ridiculous numbers. He'll be up in bham as soon as Rogo is in Charlotte which should be coming soon.
  10. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 04:29 AM) Hey guys, is it alright if I bring Jason? It'll cost ya
  11. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 02:29 AM) Ok then. I didn't read the entire thread. I just saw Marte for Mueller straight up. And who could we really get that's even 85% of Marte for a scrub like Crede? Honestly for a team rebuilding who needs a 3rd baseman I bet you he could actually bring a pretty solid reliever.
  12. Does Corwin Malone have the stuff back that made him the sox top lefty pitching prospect a few years back? Are Gio and Liotta going to be pushed through the ranks or will they be carefully moved throughout the system?
  13. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 01:44 AM) The move is counter productive. Now if we had a solid left handed replacement in store, i'm all for it. Fair enough but I think most of us are saying we'd be fine with that move if Crede was then traded off to find a replacement for Dam.
  14. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 01:42 AM) Gracias.
  15. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 01:40 AM) And my point still stands. He was referring to the false rumor at the deadline. Yeah, I recall that rumor as welll.
  16. Juniors contract is just to outrageous yas, qwerty i see you're reading this thread what's the whole contract again?? Grif could definitely help this team out there is absolutely no doubt about that but he'd also handicap us quite a bit for years to come.
  17. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 01:22 AM) If not, that's cool too. I've grown to love this part of Soxtalk, lots of good information and posters. Easily my favorite part of Soxtalk.
  18. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 01:04 AM) I had already said that it my previous post. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 01:04 AM) That's why YAS said we'd have to replace Damaso if that were to happen. Blah, looks like you still got the quick fingers at your old age YAS
  19. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 01:02 AM) It would leave us with one lefty reliever that is better at getting righties out. We would need to make another trade for a lefty reliever then. That's why YAS said we'd have to replace Damaso if that were to happen.
  20. The guy behind us tonight I was about to turn around and just punch him in the face. This guy was as clueless everyword that came out of his mouth was a swear. Little kids all over the place and he continously was saying f***. Not only that but what really almost caused me to snap that he was using the N word and the derogatory(sp?) word towards mexican, this guy was a racist PoS and he's just yelling all this junk in front of little kids. Thankfully he was eventually removed in about the 6th inning but it was just terrible.
  21. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) We'd have to then trade Crede or Everett for a good reliever or two. Carl really can't go anywhere, if Frank can stay healthy he's going to be tremendous, problem is every few games he's out there he has to leave early, sure yesterday was just a cramp it's still just a little scary. Anyways, as for what yasny said, the beauty is Neal has given the sox some flexibility where he can be used as the primary lefty and maybe if this trade did happen(obviously a big if, just want to make a point) that Crede could bring us a good solid loogy, with the way ozzie manages finding a loogy could be huge.
  22. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 11:48 PM) Not domination but close. First time all year he consistantly got his change over.
  23. Speaking of Shingo he looked absolutely terrific tonight, he was getting his change over and just blowing his fastball by the hitters tonight. I wonder if he's getting back on track or if this was just a one night thing. Hopefully he's getting it back but we'll have to wait and see.
  24. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 11:28 PM) That was his Marrioti rant on Critics. Hillarious. Beautiful, that's what I thought just wanted to be sure. Well done cheat.
  25. He's definitely opinionated.
