  1. Alright I'm definitely in now, is it alright if I bring a friend?
  2. I did not follow this trial at all but I knew he'd be found non guilty and my parents who did follow it thought he'd be found guilty, why?? Because it was obvious to them and the rest of the country that he was guilty, unfortunately because of who he is I knew he'd get off. Very Sad.
  3. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 02:23 AM) I really hope they run his ass out of Chicago. Man, would that be nice.
  4. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 02:12 AM) I'm not holding my breath, either. However, if he can get in somewhat of a groove, I'd rather see JoBo than Timo. As a backup outfielder I personally wouldn't. Jobo seems like the kind of guy to me that needs to get his ab's otherwise since he has a big long swing to begin with it's just going to get longer and loopier sitting on the bench but that's jmo.
  5. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 01:51 AM) How many .300 hitters do we have in our OF? I'd say a solid .280 with his power and Borch is a starter. Well I consider Aaron a .300 hitter, anyways I agree though if Borch could hit .280 in the majors with his power he's without a doubt a starter, however even though I wish Borch the best I just don't think he's going to be able to, I definitely hope I'm wrong though.
  6. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 02:06 AM) Really our starting pitching depth is really looking huge right now, compared to 2 years ago. Honel's coming back in AA (although he still has a LONG way to go) and so is Corwin Malone, Sean Tracey's had a good year, B-Mac in AAA, Ray Liotta has dominated in Kanny, it's looking good. No doubt and hopefully Tyler and Wes can both get and stay healthy and show what they can do. Pitching depth has definitely become the strength of our system along with the outfield depth.
  7. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 02:00 AM) The Warthogs are going to have a very nice rotation real soon. Broadway, Gonzalez, Lumsden (when he gets back from injury) and Wes Whisler. Yup, my friend is going to UNC in August and I told him he's going to get to see a ton of good pitching prospects when he goes to Winston Salem. That's going to be a fun team to watch no matter who's out on the mound.
  8. Thread of the Year!!!
  9. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 12:03 AM) I saw you were in Cali this weekend. Were ya able to make it down to SD for one of the games? Or stuck in crappy LA the whole time (cheap shot at Cali) I wanted to go to San Diego but that was a no go with the parents. Stayed in L.A. the whole time now all the sudden my parents want to move to Cali, well if they do I'm staying here so whatever should be interesting. Anyways I went to Dodger stadium and thought it was a complete dump but the rest of my family loved it.
  10. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 11:43 PM) Sorry Rowand, I see us having no chance in the playoffs if we played the Angels (possible if Texas wins the division) or Minny in the 1st round. Can't play the Twins in the first round. Fair enough on what you said just a difference of opinion.
  11. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 11:35 PM) Uribe > Vizquel defensively. I belive Uribe has more range + better arm. Completely agree on that.
  12. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 11:30 PM) mr genius Where/how should we upgrade our offense then? Please educate us. You know the concerns with any trade - chemistry, salary, age, prospects reqd etc I am TIRED of seeing this franchise piss away a great year. That 2000 season where Schueler did nothing except bring in Charles Johnson still hurts me so much I cry every time I think of that disaster of a post season. Do you realize if this Sox line up went against the Twinkies or Angels in the playoffs, they would most likely get destroyed in a short series with their ace (Santana or Colon) going twice? We just got raped by Shaun Estes tonight. The only team I could truely see as a possibly beating the sox in a short series is the Twins if every team is at full strength. If the sox can get into the playoffs they're going to be in fantastic shape imo. This team is built for the playoffs. EDIT: Don't get me wrong I don't expect the sox to walk through the playoffs or anything if they can get there, the Twins would just worry me the most out of any possible team in the AL right now. Of course the Angels or Orioles could beat the Sox I just believe the sox are built far better for the playoffs then those teams but that's jmo.
  13. Sox R Us, I've always been a fan of the way Omar plays the game and to me and it's probably the same with Kenny is it's not the amount of money of his deal it's the length of his deal, I just don't want to be stuck with Omar 2 years down the road but that's jmo.
  14. Omar's on a 3 year contract I do not want to be stuck with that 2 years down the road.
  15. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 11:11 PM) I will have to keep an eye on him and Carillo and see what happens in their careers. From the current view, we picked another Felix Diaz. Maybe his 89mph fastball is magical and not straight. Or a few years later we will see..... His fastball moves it's no where near as straight as Diaz's.
  16. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) He is really tearing it up why dont they move him to double A. If and when Rogo gets promoted to Charlotte I'm positive Daigle will follow Casey's promotion with one of his own to Birmingham.
  17. Thanks for the info as always bham. I already wrote off Kris as a top prospect I really hope I was wrong and it's starting to look like I was.
  18. There's a good chance I'm getting tickets for this game, if I'd love to meet some of you guys.
  19. BHAM, is Kris's velocity starting to climb or what have you noticed different about him the last 2 outings then what he was doing earlier in the season?
  20. Lets see Widge is batting over .300, Willie and Ozuna have been doing exactly what they have to do minus willie's bad last week and conveniantly they left Everett off the list. Don't get me wrong Lugo's a solid player and I wouldn't mind him at all but I actually like our bench.
  21. QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 12:51 AM) His walk rate is cause for concern but his ERA is very misleading he gave 7 runs in the first game of the season and only 4 ER since. Has his control been any better as of late or is he still having a ton of issues throwing strikes? The thing I'm really worried about if this happens is his mental stability I hope he's matured enough that if he has a bad outing or two in the majors that he won't lose it again.
  22. QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 12:42 AM) Lots of rumors that after the Barons First Half ends on Sunday that Bobby Jenks will be on his way to the bigs and Casey Rogowski up to Charlotte which then will allow Villcais to maybe come of the DL or Wasserman to be promoted and Leo Diagle to be called up from Winston-Salem Wow, very interesting I assume that would mean goodbye to shingo. Wow, I'm kind of speechless. I've wanted to see what Bobby could do but do you think this is a little early BHAM or do you think he's ready?
  23. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 12:34 AM) The problem with Shingo is that he can't get his one good pitch, the frisbee, over the plate. Then he gets a 3-0 count and has to throw his weak sauce 85 MPH meatball over the heart of the plate. Without good control, Shingo is worthless. Agreed but he can all the sudden find his release point and get back to what he did last year kind of like Brower can do, I'm just not sure if it's worth it to pick up one guy who could pick it up just as Shingo could do. Unless it's a sure thing it doesn't make sense imo to mess with the current crop especially when it comes to shingo.
  24. Here's the thing Jabroni everything you said about Brower can be said about Shingo except the 94 mph fastball of course. Anyways I'm not sure it's worth it to mess with the roster for a guy who might find his way back kind of like Shingo. Obviously now if Kenny thinks he found something in his mechanics that is fixable or thinks he knows what's wrong with the guy then that's a different story.
  25. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 12:27 AM) If we can get Danks signed, I'm very much inclined to offer Anderson, Tracey and say Wes Whisler up for Adam Dunn, and see what the Dan O' Brien thinks about that. They need young starters BADLY, and we're pretty well stocked with em, so something could definitely happen there. And of course there's the whole Eric Milton thing. I guess O' Brien didn't go to Offering Big Contracts to Bad Players 101. That's one heck of a package there DBAHO, I don't think the Reds would find a much better package anywhere else. Anyways I'd still do that trade getting Adam Dunn would be outstanding, that being said Pauly is going to be the first baseman this year and the outfield is set as well. As long as Dunn remains a red for the remainder of the season look for him to be talked abot a ton around here in the offseason.
