  1. I won't argue with that but if you can get a percival you can't pass that up, he becomes the closer shingo down to the setup position, like qwerty says that completely deepens the bullpen.
  2. Closer, setup man, whatever we need another bullpen arm.
  3. Hmm.... there is a name I haven't heard much, he'd be a great pickup, imo. He hasn't had an era over 3 in 4 years, I won't mention what it was before that.
  4. Take that back qwerty . I agree with you, if the sox were to get Jason and polanco, there wouldn't be enough money to aquire either of those pitchers.
  5. Ditto. Wish him the best, regards to him and his family.
  6. Hell, I'm not a bears fan and I'm intrigued to see what this team can put together next year. A lot of young talent on this team, next year they have a shot to be very, very good.
  7. Well maybe it's just people who I talk to then tony. A ton of people I talk to all claim how great a defender vlad is, I think to these people his arm just overshadows everything else. The problem could also be the majority of the people I talk with in person are flubs fans.
  8. Look what he did the 2 weeks before this one without randy.
  9. Just for the record, I think vlad's a very overrated defender. Because of that cannon he has people think he's an outstanding defender, which he's not.
  10. Fair enough. You guys were just saying how Placido hit in front of Thome at one of the best hitters park in baseball, so I was just asking if it's all that different hitting in front of frank at the cell.
  11. Is hitting in front of frank thomas playing at another one of the best hitters park in baseball all that different?? How else would you like to judge these guys, career numbers?? because Polanco's career numbers are better then cabrera's also, not to mention Placido is just a better fit for the sox, period.
  12. That's ridiculous. Can Cabrera be a number 2 hitter, probably not, while polanco can get on base and he knows how to advance runners, Placido would be a great top of the order guy. Not only is he cheaper but he's a better player. Cabrera is real overrated, he has a lot of talent but hasn't lived up to potential yet and I'm not sure if he ever will.
  13. Forget his ops and look at the obp. What's the point of signing another guy that has a ton of talent but can't live up to his potential. Cabrera would be bad for this team, while Placido would be great for this team, imo.
  14. Are you referencing his .320 obp once he got to the al :rolly . I think the sox would rather sign a shortstop so uribe can be that super utility guy, however they'll sign a 2b if they have to and make Juan the everyday shortstop.
  15. Even with the money factor willie?? Even without the money I'd rather have willie then guzman, jmo.
  16. No, I want to bring him in to be the everyday 2b and how the heck was he a bust with Philly, his numbers are much better then cabreras, Orlando is just an overpaid and less productive uribe.
  17. No need for that, they can sign Jose and he'll break bonds homerun record.
  18. Lets not . Go after Polanco and if we can't get him, we'll have to look to another position to get a top of the order guy
  19. Just curious, anyone know how much Vinny signed for???
