I agree 100 percent. That team quite possibly was the most talented team in the american league, they obviously didn't put it together but they definitely had the tools.

This is what has really impressed me about Carlos Lee this season. I know his power numbers are down but he's a much smarter hitter, imo. Last year he tried to pull everything this year he'll go to right field, he'll go to right center and he's also been having much better at bats. For example his last at bat last night against dotel, fought off some tough pitches, kept fouling pitches off and then finally worked a walk to bring the tying run to the plate.

Fair enough. My point is that even a team with a 200 million dollar payroll do have holes but yes your right we don't have 7 other superstars around these two and they definitely have been awful lately.

Steff, I see where your coming from but the yankees have Miguel Cairo and Enrique Wilson playing 2nd base. The red sox have mark bellhorn and pokie reese playing 2nd base, granted bellhorn is having a solid year but can very much fall off at the dish as well.

I agree. That rotation would be ridiculous. The back end of the bullpen is pretty solid right now with politte, damaso and shingo another solid reliever would be fine but we don't need a benitez. Another top of the rotation starter would be huge considering it's pretty hard to trust esty right now. A playoff rotation of Pavano, Garcia and Buehrle would be awesome.

Maybe we'll get all our acquisitions back from last year. I guess we can't trade for Shoney though.

After Robbie who we going to go after.... Scott Sullivan. I think Robbie is a definite possibility I guess I wouldn't mind him back here as a back up but we'd have to give very little up.

I agree with Rupe being a good prospect. Francisco is a descent bullpen guy. Webster is batting .267, how's that a good year? Personally I don't think Webster is that much of a prospect.

Is Lidge a fa after this year? I'd absolutely love to have him. Can you imagine lidge, damaso, shingo to a close a game out, we'd be able to play 6 inning games, that would be nasty.
