Buehrle is 5th or 6th in the al in strikeouts so he does strikeout quite a few this year.

Harold Reynolds always ends up jumping on the sox bandwagon. I remember last year in August he was asked who the best team was in the american league and he said he thought the White Sox were, so this isn't much of a surprise to me, even though he predicted us to finish 4th in the division.

I'd love to get Jason Kendall but I don't think we need a number 1 catcher. Sandy is still a solid hitting catcher but like you said there's no way he can handle playing 4 days a week. Burke and Davis are bad but atleast they both call good games and can handle a pitching staff. However I agree with you on the bullpen, I'm fine having cotts in the pen to take on a lefty and I'm fine with Adkins being the mop up guy but Mike Jackson needs to be replaced. I think getting another reliever should be the number one goal for this club but another starting pitcher would also be very helpful. I don't want to look forward to the playoffs since we all know it's far from a lock that we get there but if we do get in there would you want to throw Garland or Loaiza out there in game 3? If esteban turns it around and becomes some what dependable we're set but if he doesn't I think we might be in some trouble.

I disagree with you ss. If esteban comes back and show he's capable of atleast being a number 3 starter then another starting pitcher wouldn't even be needed but right now I'm very worried about Esteban and if he can't get back to atleast be a solid pitcher then another starting pitcher might be needed.

Yup that's what has been said. They aren't going to get it though, I believe Bensons price tag will come way down close to the deadline. I'd love to get Benson he's been great lately.

Against a lefty I'd like to see Pauly and Carl switched but maybe ozzie is doing this because pauly is in a slump, otherwise looks good to me.

I agree with you, I'm perfectly fine throwing Garcia and Buehrle out there in games 1 and 2 if we get to the playoffs, however I have no confidence in either Garland or Loaiza to do a good job in a game 3 type of situation. I hope kenny is looking at Benson, it's been said that they found a flaw in his mechanics and since then his era is around 2.5 he'd be a nice arm to have, imo. Also in the playoffs unless we're facing the rangers it is very, very doubtful the sox put up 5 runs.

Wite, I actually think a lot of people predicted the injuries to their pitching staff. Obviously no one predicted the sammy sneeze but look what happens when you do steroids. Anyways, nobody thought the cards would be this good and I definitely thought the cubs were a better team but I also the thought the astros were better then the flubs. However my point was that some people were making them out to be a lock because they're talented but they don't have a leadoff hitter and they have no closer, which right now is making them have basically no good relievers because Hawkins sucks as a closer. I actually told a lot of my friends that their offense reminded me a ton of last years sox offense at the start which would hurt them a lot, all right handed power with no true leadoff man. Basically the point I was making is talent isn't everything and every sox fan should know that. I just thought and think their offense is constructed poorly which is going to put them through those prolounged slumps and with borowski pitching poorly to start and then going down their bullpen becomes a complete liability.

Yeah, I definitely don't want Matt Morris he's looked awful this year, I think he's already given up 27 homeruns this year, it'd be scary to think how many he'd give up at the cell. I agree with you about Pedro. I think odalis would come cheaper then Pavano but I could be wrong about that, either way I'd like the sox to make a serious run at either one of them.

Ah boy. Time to pick on the new guy. Comparing Damaso to koch is absolutely ludicrous, you can have a blown save by giving up a run in the 7th or 8th, even if you come in with inherited runners. Damaso is the best lefty reliever in the american league so please don't ever compare him to botch.
