  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 16, 2014 -> 10:59 AM) This is true, but looking at how Pop transformed the team from great d/slow possession team to this iteration makes me hopeful that Thibs can evolve as well. He has the work ethic to do it, and showed by bringing Noah to the point center position and package sets that his team couldn't execute that he is somewhat creative. I think people forget that coaches can get better tool. Thibs may just be getting started. Any time that Jimmy Butler wants to turn into Kawhi Leonard would probably help too.
  2. At this point we just want Germany to keep pouring it on right? As goal differential could possibly be the difference between us and Portugal.
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 09:57 PM) Except I feel like J4L will own up to it instead of bailing. He will, he hasn't ran away when he's been wrong before. He hasn't been on here since the finals started though, weird.
  4. Ok guys I want the Bulls to win another title, this looks like fun.
  5. So I've made a ton of terrible predictions in my time on this site but J4L's about this series might be the worst prediction of all time.
  6. Remember when the Spurs almost lost to the Mavs?
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 11:55 AM) So, they're adding AquaMan to Batman v Superman? Oy ve. What a mess. Is this movie going to be 4 hours long?
  8. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 09:54 AM) s***, I can't even name two states that border Connecticut. Illinois and California. But ya, I have no idea where the Ivory Coast is.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 07:55 AM) He means that undefeated teams always tend to go into the NCAA finals with too much pressure, although WSU just wasn't as talented as Kentucky across the board, regardless of seeding. Trying to think of another example....one of those UNLV teams in the early 90's? I was talking about the rest of the non sense he was spouting off at in that post.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 12:05 AM) Kentucky will win next year's NCAA title going away. It won't even be close this time. If UK survives its nonconference slate unscathed it may pull a Wichita State and go undefeated til tourney time. Calipari better hope his team drops one early cause the undefeated thing is an albatross. What?
  11. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 13, 2014 -> 09:33 AM) Yes. IMO it is. When you're comparing two supposed GOAT time players, what you do on the biggest stage matters more. I think for the most part people (myself included) give Lebron a pass with Cleveland. One loss isn't a huge deal. His loss to an inferior Mavericks team, in which he failed to show up in two or three games, was inexcusable. There's an asterisk attached to last years (for Lebron's legacy), and if he loses this year it's just another hit against him. You seem to think players showing up in big games should be equal to players showing up in regular season/opening round games. Why? If you're the best of the best, you need to show up and play your best against the best. If you lose, you lose. LeBron shouldn't be getting knocked down a peg for losing in finals yet others get a pass for losing in conference finals. That's just silly.
  12. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 13, 2014 -> 09:13 AM) It again comes down to expectations and comparisons to the GREATEST OF ALL TIME. This isn't people debating who's a deserving all-star or even MVP for a given year. It's the GOAT debate. Everything matters, but especially the biggest moments on the biggest stage. In that argument, his losing records in the Finals absolutely matter, ESPECIALLY when he's losing with THREE hall of famers. So LeBron losing in the finals is worse than Jordan losing to the Pistons? Like I said, there's not even a debate between the two in my opinion but the finals record argument makes no sense.
  13. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 10:48 PM) Ask Wilt. Seriously though, it's the highest level, either you're good enough or you ain't. MJ is GOAT in my opinion because he refused to lose once he had the title within sight, sometimes on sheer will alone ve more talented teams. If LeBron had MJ's sheer will to leave everything on the floor, he'd be almost impossible to beat, he has everything to be on that level but he doesn't. I've seen both MJ and LeBron's career, it isn't the homer in me, MJ without question is the superior player, absolutely no doubt in my mind. That's why I laugh when J4L says it's 'a cloin flip' between them, or crap like MJ fans are 'worried' about LeBron. Trust me, I don't think LeBron is MJ, Jordan is the best ever, no question. I just don't get the finals record argument. A loss is a loss.
  14. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 10:31 PM) Also, can we forget about LeBron being better than Jordan, like forever? This is a guy who was a miracle Ray Ray three from being 1-4 in the Finals. I still don't understand why it's worse to lose in the finals for one's legacy than it is to lose any other time.
  15. Kawhi Leonard making a joke of Wade on that play. I enjoyed.
  16. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 09:27 PM) He could fold like he did against the Celtics He absolutely could, he could go off for 30 too. I wouldn't be surprised by anything he does this half
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 09:24 PM) Too many people think the Heat are out of this game. Ya game is far from over.
  18. If LeBron wants to be Jordan he'll go absolutely off this half. I'm intrigued to see how he responds here.
