It's cold outside
I literally have to go into work tomorrow just to pick up a package, which is dumb. That being said, I have no clue how I'm getting my car out and I feel like the odds of it starting aren't good. What are everyone's plans for tomorrow?

The Saints should have went for that 4th and 4. There's like 2 teams in the nfl that should let their defense win games, every other needs to let their offenses do it.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Dec 31, 2013 -> 10:18 AM) I know, but do they have to be going for the title? Surely a Batista/Taker or Lesnar/Taker match would drum up as much interest as either of them going after Orton or Cena. Hell, I'd have brought out Batista when Lesnar was calling out someone, anyone from the back. Maybe that's where they're headed and they needed Brock to destroy someone like Henry to build the mystique. I think Lesnar-Taker would drum up huge interest from my age group. I know a lot of my friends who don't watch wrestling now did when Taker was in his prime and they're also big MMA fans. That match would draw some casual viewers

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 31, 2013 -> 08:03 AM) I was talking with my buddy about where this could lead last night, and I was wondering who the Family's target would be now, since they "acquired" Bryan. They are going to need to go up against another solo player who has a little backup. I was thinking possibly a showdown with Punk + Shield, since both of them are ex-Heyman clients and have a little history together. I just dont see Bryan entering the title picture in Mania right now, especially with Lesnar and Batista re-entering the picture. Bray's whole thing has been about "taking down the machine" and he's tweeting about destroying kingdoms, it makes all the sense in the word for Bryan to be using them to take out the authority and get himself back in the title picture. That being said, we all read rumors and I've seen nothing to suggest that being the case so who knows. QUOTE (The Critic @ Dec 31, 2013 -> 08:11 AM) Haven't we had enough of part-timers in the title picture? I think we all agree on that but this is the WWE and to quote Mark Henry "it's what they do." QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 31, 2013 -> 08:39 AM) They need the hype going into Mania, as much as it sucks. Is Batista that much of a draw? I know he's in movies but he's not the Rock. Batista-Orton just sounds insanely boring to me but if it also means Lesnar-Taker, HHH-Punk and most importantly Bryan-HBK...fine with me.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 10:45 PM) I guess he deserves some credit for his self confidence. If he's willing to play another position, I guarantee he'd get a job in the NFL, but he persists that he is a quarterback. He can't fail with Jesus on his side. Sorry, had to.

Official Squared Circle Thread
This either goes the route of Bryan using the family to finally take down the authority or they're trying to kill Bryan for good. I'm with Brian, I think it's short lived with a big payoff, at least I really hope. They're really dumb if they're legit turning him heel.

Is this real? Aaron Rodgers is coming out or being outed?
QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 01:51 PM) I actually sort of hope it turns out to be true. I think Aaron would make a good advocate. Indeed. I personally couldn't care less but it'll certainly be a gigantic story if it's true.

2013-2014 NFL Thread
QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 01:07 PM) You're not going for two because you want to keep it within one score no matter what happens. The key is that there was still 11-12 minutes left in the game which all but guaranteed the Packers would get another posession. If there were 6-7 minutes left, he would have gone for two no questions asked. The way I always hear people say it is that you don't chase points until you have to. 11 plus minutes left is not yet crunch time. It's flawed logic though. Either way in your scenario you're going to need a 2 point conversion, it doesn't make sense to wait for attempting it especially when you can tie the game up with going for it right away.

2013-2014 NFL Thread
QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 12:47 PM) All coaches have their cheat sheet to tell them when or when not to go for two. He's must have said take the one. Look at it this way. There was a lot of time left in the game and neither team could really stop the other. If McCarthy went for two and failed, the score would be 28-26. Had the Bears drove down field and scored a touchdown, all of the sudden it is a two score game as the score would be 35-26 with probably not very much time left. In that situation I think it was the right call to take the point, trust your defense to hold them to no more than a field goal and keep it a one score game. Ya but as you said you don't trust your defense. Think about it...you're not going for two there just so you can possibly go for two later? That makes no sense.

Hahn's next move?
QUOTE (Vance Law @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 10:22 PM) It's just a little weird when people set out to dissect the Sox admittedly terrible offense last year and select Adam Dunn to criticize first. While Dunn is obviously a less than perfect hitter, he was the Sox most productive hitter last year. Have you already made posts about every one of the rest of the hitters (aside from Rios)? And it's difficult to understand what is meant by "tough out" or how you're defining that. Is Alexei more of a tough out than Adam Dunn? Alexei makes outs more frequently than Dunn. Their entire careers as well as last year. That isn't some complicated advanced statistic that says that, it's on-base percentage. Is it ok if you make outs more often so long as they are "tough"? Wouldn't "ultimately makes outs less frequently" imply a "tough out"? I enjoyed this post. Well said.
