  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 23, 2013 -> 04:03 PM) It could work to the Cowboys favor. They should be able to run the ball. I heard the Eagles D has held opponents to under 21 points in 10 of the past 11 games. No idea if that is true (too lazy to look up) but that is what they were saying on ESPN. Vikings were only team to really do much to their D since early in the season when the D was really porous. They'll still probably abandon the run in the 2nd half for some reason.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 23, 2013 -> 02:45 PM) The biggest problem I saw with Morel is that he thought he could be effective hitting primarily to the opposite field. However, he didn't have enough power to the opposite field to get it over the right fielder's head. Why September stats don't matter...by Brent Morel.

While I'm a big Sheldon Cooper fan, he's going to have to hit the weight room. His disdain for human contact isn't going to help either.
  4. This thread somehow got us to Ryan Mallett? That's just awesome.
  5. It'd be interesting to see how the defense would have done if Lovie was still around.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 23, 2013 -> 09:32 AM) It cracks me up when done at the appropriate time, i.e., when whatever is happening is hilarious as hell and you can't fault the guy for breaking. Timberlake's impression of Fallon was spot on and it caused Fallon to break. Will Ferrell's old prospector bit was the same. The audience feels in on it because they're laughing for the same reason. Agreed. It especially worked because the bit was an impersonation of him.
  7. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 23, 2013 -> 12:58 PM) Saw this skit Saturday on SNL, was laughing my ass off. Ya we were talking about SNL in the tv thread. I enjoyed that skit as well.
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 23, 2013 -> 09:50 AM) No, Jay couldn't have won the game. But the d score was worse by our 3 and outs. And really the issue and why I'm so annoyed by his play was this was a game we knew the offense could not get behind schedule. Yet they came out with three and outs and bad throws and drops. And worse is when Jay gets behind it brings out bad Jay so easily. He holds onto the ball longer, he starts firing ball to Marshall in double coverage, he gets sacked and fumbles from both of these. Basically if we fall behind by more than 10 he ditches the offense. But you are right, McCown uses our offense to work the ball up and down the field beautifully. But his lack of arm kills us in red zone. I mean, there were two 3 and outs and they were already down 21 to 0. The offense sucked as did Jay but everything kind of changes when you're down 21 to 0 in the blink of an eye.
  9. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 23, 2013 -> 08:35 AM) The Colon trade was one of the most lopsided trades of the past 10-15 years for the White Sox. Whatever, you trade Rocky Biddle, you auto lose. Honestly, with out looking it up, I don't even remember who else we traded in that deal. EDIT: I looked it up, shame on me for forgetting Jeff Liefer. And El duque?!?!?
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 22, 2013 -> 09:54 PM) IMO that's Jon Gruden. Collinsworth is way more honest and willing to criticize. Absolutely.
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 22, 2013 -> 09:46 PM) Can't believe you'd smear Brad Maynard's name like that Haha indeed. Big time party foul, Gage.
  12. This is as ugly a game as you can have in all 3 phases, brutal.
  13. I thought that was the right call on the McCoy non fumble. Let's see what Jay can do.
  14. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 22, 2013 -> 08:29 PM) Cutler needs to figure out what to do when there's a blitz for f***'s sake. The ball hit the freakin ground on the snap, nothing he can do. You're ragging on Jay just because at the moment.
  15. Would have definitely went for that if I were the Iggles.
  16. The Bears will score some points, the defense is going to have to cause a turnover or two.
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 22, 2013 -> 07:53 PM) I really don't get Trestman sometimes. Down 14-0 and they run it on first and second. It's the 1st quarter.
  18. Ya the Bears are the 3 if they win tonight.
  19. So if those three end up tied, the Niners win the division via better divisional record and the Panthers get the 1 seed over the Niners via the head to head win. At least I believe that's how it'd work.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 22, 2013 -> 06:56 PM) Carolina is 4-1 in the division, Seattle 3-2, I think that's the first tiebreaker if Seattle lost and Carolina won next week. Seattle beat Carolina so that's your tiebreaker. EDIT: If the Niners, Panthers and Seahawks all tie, I do believe the Panthers are the 1 and Niners the 2.
  21. Seahawks lose at home.
  22. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 22, 2013 -> 04:20 PM) Defensively biased team with no prayer of stopping Marshall/Jeffrey with an inconsistent offense that often beats itself? They're a dream matchup for the Bears. They're not a dream matchup for anyone. You can look at it however you want but they're also 5th in pass defense and 8th in rushing offense so that looks good from their point of view.
  23. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 22, 2013 -> 04:15 PM) The Bears would absolutely ruin Carolina. It would be a bloodbath, they are exactly the type of team we are built to annihilate. No.
  24. QUOTE (zenryan @ Dec 22, 2013 -> 04:05 PM) They're good at blowing out the bad teams like the Bucs twice, the Giants, the Vikings and the Falcons. Carolina is average 13.8 points per game against teams with a winning record. I wonder far they can go winning games by scoring 17 or less points, especially if Steve Smith is out for any length of time. Granted, that ppg is extremely low, I'll give you that but blowing out bad teams and squeaking by good teams seems pretty normal, I certainly wouldn't consider them extremely lucky. That Broncos team you're comparing them to was 8-8 with a -81 point differential, the two teams aren't close.
