December 24, 201312 yr Author Yeah I'm hoping to head out about 3:30, our CEO is ordering us steaks though, that's nice. I usually work these times because my family is in Chicago. I'd rather those that need to travel to travel and I take my time off in a week or two.
December 24, 201312 yr I used to work Xmas Eve at an old job and didn't mind. Nobody was there, it was quiet, and I'd get my work done early and play video poker all day.
December 24, 201312 yr Working from home, all management is pretty much out though so hoping to leave for the parent's around 2.
December 24, 201312 yr I'm working. We get a "half day" today, but i'm sure i'll stay until 2 or 3. I think working any time this week is pretty dumb. In the law world, no one really works this week. Judges take vacations, no one is planning deps or anything. It's really slow. And I end up chatting on here all day.
December 24, 201312 yr Market closes at noon today so til then. Probably take off earlier since it's dead.

I usually work these times because my family is in Chicago. I'd rather those that need to travel to travel and I take my time off in a week or two. My exact thought process too. Also, it saves days to take off in the summer! We get 5 weeks vacation to start and can only roll over 5, so using days can be tricky, I took two days off last week just so I didn't lose them.
December 24, 201312 yr QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 24, 2013 -> 09:18 AM) FIVE WEEKS? Yeah, it's nice and its why I'm at a job that, while I still get paid OK, I could get a higher paying one. My director encourages us to take it too, as does our CFO. In our quarterly in September/October we go over how much time we have and when we can take it. It includes our sick time, but I'm 34 and healthy so I really don't get sick where I can't work, especially since we can work from home.
December 24, 201312 yr Author Damn so in after working there 3 years with 5 days rolled over each year you could already take a sabbatical at that point.

There is a limit of some sort, but it does get ridiculous how much time people have, especially since you get days added to your total when you hit certain anniversaries.
December 24, 201312 yr Working today, and tomorrow, and Thanksgiving, and every day for the last 3 months. I swear I'm not b****ing. I get to spend Christmas somewhere in Southern Utah, and I really like Southern Utah.
December 24, 201312 yr Working...racing against the clock on a few things that need to be ready to go on the 31st...boss says to leave at noon but I don't think its going to happen.

December 24, 201312 yr Author Moved to an website design agency. Get to work more on account and continue to learn more development stuff. I'm terrible at coding but I can at least identify problems and edits now.

December 24, 201312 yr Author QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 24, 2013 -> 04:24 PM) Oh, I'm sorry...I read your post wrong... Oh yeah, I meant since my family's in Chicago I don't need to travel to see them, so I let those who do get time off.
