  1. Granger's back, I'm interested to see how this works.
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 07:26 PM) And Frasor was in the second Jackson deal. Separate deals. Either way, Holmberg is the most valuable of all those guys.
  3. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 07:05 PM) 1) This was in the NL 2) You are using hindsight There have been posters here making it out like Coop didn't like Hudson, which would make sense for the deal. If that's true then you trade your guy before he gets hurt. But back to the above 2 points, there's no guarantee he would have done that here and also, going back in time to when that deal was made, it would have been a leap at best to say that during the 1.5 seasons Jackson was contracted to the Sox that Hudson would have been the better bet for both making the postseason (high IP) and going deep into it. Kenny wanted Jackson for the same reason the Cards wanted him to complete the Rasmus deal. How is that hindsight? I hated the deal when it happened and Edwin was extremely mediocre through out his career when we got him. He was just as much of a wild card as Hudson with out the remaining years and once again we gave up an extra good arm.
  4. I know we were trying to win but you don't trade your best prospect and one who was ready to go for a guy who was already been proven to be mediocre and had a 5 era at the time. You can try to spin it any way you want but it was at the time and will always be a ridiculously stupid move to me.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 06:53 PM) Sometimes I have a few things to suggest to my parents when they ask, but other times my Mom will just come up with stuff. Ya this is me basically. Every now and than(like once every 3 years probably) I'll ask for a jersey but usually my mom will just buy me some random White Sox and Bulls stuff that she finds. My dad still just gives me money which is great.
  6. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 06:46 PM) Yet we somehow won that one as well. Remember, got Webb and Jaye in that. We got them in the Jason Frasor trade and gave up Holmberg along with Huddy. Even if you just look at the 1.5 years that Jackson was here, Huddy out produced him. Enter into the equation the amount of years Huddy was under contract(yes I know he's been hurt), the fact that Hudson had to have had a ton of value at that point and we gave up another good arm in the deal? Yuck.
  7. I probably hated the BMac-Danks trade more than anyone when it happened but that ended up being lopsided in our favor. The Huddy-Jackson trade to this day still makes 0 sense to me.

American Hustle and Anchorman 2 are the two I really want to see. Hunger games as well but that's been out for a while.
  9. QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 04:35 PM) I helped him with one of his "comebacks". I helped him after a knee surgery. I don't believe you, dead people don't need surgeries. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 04:36 PM) Under the law if he can't do his job they can fire him. If he's a drug addict and drunk, he can't perform his job. And neither, as far as I know, are recognized disabilities that would invoke the ADA. He may have a special clause in his contract though, who knows. I understand giving him a 2nd chance but I swear this is like 5 or 6, it's ridiculous at this point.

    I don't think I ever gave a teacher a Christmas card.
  11. How many chances does Mac get?
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 09:27 PM) What happened to butler? Hurt his ankle. Not sure how bad just know he's done tonight.
  13. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 08:54 PM) OBJECTION: I think one of Johnson or Semien will be packaged in a deal that nets us a catcher this offseason. I doubt it. I guarantee EJ isn't going anywhere.
  14. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 08:36 PM) There's lots of names on there that make me sad You just miss Eggy.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 03:19 PM) Any objections that these are the 8 core players going forward in the Sox organization? Abreu A. Garcia Eaton Davidson Semien Sale Quintana E. Johnson Nope. Those are the guys.
  16. And Butler is broken again. Might as well just sit him out for the season.
  17. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 08:02 PM) Herm Edwards? See, it's not as easy as you think. Did it on purpose.
  18. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 04:23 PM) My bold prediction for this season is that Paulino is going to end the year as the 3rd best starter. Ya you seem to be in love with Paulino, I'm not there but hopefully you're right. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 04:30 PM) In the rotation? We're starting 2 rookies plus Danks who pitched like crap last year. IN the bullpen, we're going to have rookies somewhere and/or a Veal. We're also counting on a rookie CF, 3B and 1B A lot of things would have to fall our way for this team to contend. I certainly wouldn't force it by trading prospects, or rushing prospects. We're starting 1 rookie for sure, the other is going to have to earn that 5th spot if he gets it. Danks just by natural progression through an injury will be much better, no doubt in my mind there. And as I said before, I agree that it's highly unlikely that we contend in 2014, I was just responding to your worries from your last post.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 04:51 PM) I dont like full contact sports for children until they get to HS level. I especially dont like how early some of those sports get kids doing weight training. However, even as a soccer player I've had multiple concussions. I got one in HS and played 2 days later only to take another direct head shot that had me lights out. That's kind of a vicious cycle though. If you don't let kids play until they're older, they won't have been able to practice proper technique and that's going to make them more dangerous when they're bigger and stronger.
  20. As for the pitching worries, all I'm concerned about is the 5th spot of the rotation. EJ is going to be just fine this year and I think Danks bounces back big. And the bullpen will be fine.
  21. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 03:49 PM) Lack overall depth, lack pitching, and without major improvement, will be undermanned at C and LF. Depth and catcher I'll give you, disagree on pitching and at the moment we are overmanned in lf.

That post count has went to ss's head.
  23. The potential is there but a lot of guys have to grow up really quick. 2015 seems like a more realistic goal.
  24. And I'm not going to read that whole post from before but tanking in the NBA is basically always the way.
  25. Man I kinda just figured Kobe was a robot who once he got fixed would be fine forever. That sucks.
