  1. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 08:49 PM) To have him on your team, or have relations with him? This post is pretty vague. lol
  2. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 06:12 PM) no offense, but I can't imagine rooting against the white sox. I can see if it was one game and the difference between winning and losing was drafting a sure-thing prospect with the 1st pick...but rooting against them because maybe you don't like the coach/GM/certain players? Root against guys like Paul Konerko, Mark Buehrle and the team as a whole? I don't get it. I'd rather root for a 10 game winning streak that puts us right back in it. Look, I'm not sitting at my tv rooting against the Sox, I can't do that. And me calling for them to lose has nothing to do with the fact that I hate the gm/manager combo right now. But at this point, I do believe the best thing for this franchise as a whole would be for them to just lose every game. This team isn't going to the playoffs and if we were to hypothetically lose out, you get the best draft pick possible while guaranteeing the organization goes in a new direction as far as the gm and manager are concerned. Best possible option.
  3. QUOTE (greasywheels121 @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 05:32 PM) The broken foot is valid reasoning enough to let being busy sneak under the rug. Good to hear it's not discouraging you from scratching the effort altogether. If you're still in the burbs, we should meet up sometime soon for some kind of workout or race. It would be times of good. Ya, definitely. You still in arlington heights?
  4. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 06:19 PM) why? you're not seriously rooting for loss I think it's to the point where I actually am. Losing the most amount of games is probably the best possible thing for this organization right now.
  5. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 06:08 PM) Except for more speed and a stronger arm, Vick and Tebow have similar styles. Both have had limited touch and both are/were run-first QBs. Tebow is quick for a QB, very strong, and smart. If he works on his touch, he can have an equivalent to Orton's arm and be okay. Yaaaa except the two differences you mentioned are EXTREME differences.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 06:07 PM) Whether you like him as a manager or not, you would have to admit drinking with Ozzie would probably be a riot. I wouldn't trust myself in such a spot.
  7. I pretty much live in bucktown on the weekends, I hope I never run into him.
  8. QUOTE (greasywheels121 @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 03:38 PM) Little over a week until the half, how's training going, Justin? Not gonna lie, the whole marathon thing kind of got pushed back for me. Between just being extremely busy for the first time in my life(I know awful excuse) and breaking my foot, it just wasn't the best time for me. I do plan on doing one hopefully before the end of this year but the one next week isn't happening unfortunately.
  9. Hoge is doing his job, he said nothing wrong. From Tebow's tweet you get the feeling that he's going to use Merril's words as motivation so good for him and as usual Lebron has no clue what the hell he's talking about.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 10:58 PM) I'm thinking 5-6 range Oh please, you know better. We will absolutely dominate the last two weeks of the season when we're already out of the race.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 09:15 PM) Haha and then the next guy said 15-12. Three straight tweets basically saying the exact same thing. We White Sox fans have the misery thing down pat. Like how you said tweets.

I love the premise of the new Planet of the Apes movie, the only thing that has bugged me in the previews is how damn fake the apes look. Oh well, I can get around that, definitely want to see it.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 02:59 PM) MDGonzales Mark Gonzales Konerko took swings, ran on underwater treadmill, hopes to return thursday Can you imagine how fast that was?
  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 06:38 AM) Well some NBA players have to past the time. 1st time in legendary Rucker Park for Kevin Durant? Drops 66 points. Here's him going off in the 4th. Longer highlights. What a ball hog. And obviously it means nothing, he's a NBA player playing at Rucker Park, he can do whatever the hell he wants.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 08:43 PM) I'll root for Brewers. And this Yanks team is way more likable than the Red Sox. C.C., Granderson and Tex are great guys. Agreed. Too bad the Red Sox are just plain better.
  16. I can't believe that I hate a team so much that I love, if that makes any sense... Seriously, this current team can go f*** themselves. I really do hope they sneak into the playoffs but I f***in despise this group.
  17. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 04:47 PM) I definitely thought Tracey had what it takes to be at least a decent reliever, but I must have been wrong seeing as he's never made it with anyone. Ditto.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 04:40 PM) He could always have a rookie do it. Said rookie better not miss otherwise he'll never pitch for the Sox again.
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 04:20 PM) I'm amazed that anyone here still thinks Rios has a place in this lineup. I'd throw anyone out there in his place, including one of our pitchers. Buehrle leads the Sox in ops... And this will be the 2nd year in the last 3 that he has done so. Think we found our dh.
  20. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 03:27 PM) That's the problem, I'd have to see that thing in person 15-20 times a year. Ha, ya I know you're a NU fan, that's what I said that. If SIU did something like that, I'd be pretty pissed off, for NU though, I love it!
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 01:06 PM) I agree with 2k5 here. Even if I can just drink 15 beers and hit on hot latinas, that's enough for me. Not a cheap day at the ballpark apparently.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 01:33 PM) Ozzie is all talk. He's an absolute coward on the field. Examples are not benching players when they don't hustle to not retaliating when his players get hit. For all the talk about how "crazy" he is, he's a pretty damn conservative manager. Ding, ding and might I add ding.
  23. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 01:54 PM) The all-purple one is painful. Haha, as long as it's not for my team, I love stuff like that, it's so ridiculous that it makes it interesting for me.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 04:30 PM) Everything...I have no idea why any player would ever want to play for this organization if they have to worry that anything that happens behind the scenes could be fair game to be exposed to the media by the manager's kid. As much as I love the White Sox(and I will until the day I die) it's becoming increasingly hard to root for this management group and this group of players. I never thought being a Sox fan would be this f***in hard.
