  1. I gotta ask if Jayson Nix is ever going to get a plate appearance. This would be a perfect time for him to pinch hit.
  2. QUOTE (TheHolyBovine @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 02:12 PM) He's dead on. Not at all. This s*** has been frustrating as all hell to watch so far this season but some of you guys are completely overreacting.
  3. QUOTE (The Gooch @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 02:08 PM) , and getting a worse version of Scotty That's just wrong.
  4. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 02:01 PM) By that time how many games will we be out of first? Need your sarcasm detector fixed.
  5. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 02:00 PM) That AJ and Flowers are terrible hitters? Whats tough to comprehend abou that? What the hell makes you think that Flowers is a terrible hitter?
  6. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) I heard B & B on the Score saying that they've come to the conclusion that Flowers is not very good at baseball, and that they should trade him NOW while they can still get something for him. Depressing. Happy they made that distinction after 18 spring training ab's. And btw, whoever said it, I pretty much agree, Flowers probably would be our best bet to dh at this point, it wont happen though.
  7. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) Freddy pitched plenty fine enough for a 5th starter, its the 2nd time in a row he allowed a leadoff walk, it was bound to hurt eventually. Pitched plenty fine for anybody, not just a 5th starter.
  8. Very excited for tonights card. No idea why but I have a gut feeling that Maia is going to pull off a sub to beat Anderson tonight.
  9. On the bright side, despite the homer Freddy has looked absolutely fantastic, too bad we still can't hit.
  10. Dude has an insane arm, he'll be a closer one of these days, no doubt in my mind.
  11. The offensive talent just isn't good enough this year to blame Walker at all(obviously it'd take a lot more than 5 games to make an assessment anyways). That being said he should have been canned a while ago, it'll take a lot for Walker ever to get fired.
  12. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 02:22 PM) Pierre LF Beckham 2B Quentin RF Konerko 1B Jones DH Rios CF Vizquel 3B Ramirez SS Lucy C Alexei is sandwiched between some good hitters today.
  13. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 02:22 PM) If he could hit .280 and put up a .350 OBP, as he is capable of, then yeah, why not? Cause he's not capable of that anymore.
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 02:10 PM) Hello, my name is wite, and I am a Reese's peanut butter cup-aholic When I was in high school, I seriously ate those for dinner all the f***in time. So damn good.
  15. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) I'd consider putting him in the 2 slot, though. Seriously dude? You're in an interesting mood today apparently.
  16. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 01:11 PM) I told him my story and that I am willing to do whatever it takes to make up for it, whether it be taking a make up test this upcoming week or pooling the midterm pts into the final test grade (adding the 25% to what I get on the final). I guess Ill have to see how he responds. He seems like a nice guy, but I have never been in this situation before. In my experience, almost all professors will let you take a make up exam. I wouldn't fret over it too much, I'm sure you'll be fine.
  17. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 02:13 PM) I didn't realize you did a scientific study on this. I'd like to look at your detailed findings. It's pretty common knowledge that most baseball players as long as they're still capable of playing a position absolutely despise being the dh.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 12:21 PM) He's probably the worst of the OF's when it comes to range and, although the shoulder injury may have taken a toll, probably one of the better ones when it comes to throwing. Eh, I'd still say he's 3rd in throwing when you count in accuracy and strength.
  19. I'm expecting a huge season out of Danks so hopefully he starts that up tonight. Becks goes 0-0 with 3 sacrifice bunts and a walk.
  20. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 01:38 PM) A runner on 2B with two outs to work with, and all you need is a single. It's a chance worth taking. Maybe they walk Quentin, but Konerko is unbelievably hot at the moment. Define unbelievably hot because he had 2 good games before being 0 for 3 at that point yesterday in the 9th inning. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 01:50 PM) But when you need one run, the highest percentage move is still to sacrifice and get the runner into scoring position with less than two outs. This will never change. Not when you're taking the bats out of your two best hitters hands.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 12:02 PM) CQ is moving a lot better than he was last year, at least to my eyes. Although, that's not saying much. I actually think he's been moving pretty decently out there. He's probably still the worst of the 4 outfielders if Andruw is going to play but at this point, no one is sure if he's going to be comfortable dh'ing and his bat his too damn important to have him make that switch. Now if his defense becomes a liability then that's a different story, but at this point it's certainly not.
  22. QUOTE (Ranger @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 10:56 AM) Bunting him over in the 9th inning is fine. I wouldn't have done it in the 7th, though. Giving up your two best hitters in the 9th is fine? I don't think so.
