  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 01:25 PM) Yes, he does. He really doesn't, if you think he's going to need to develop one for the later part of his career, fine, I can buy that but I'll worry about that when he loses some athleticism which will be a while. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 01:29 PM) I disagree that he doesn't need one. Jordan and Kobe perfected it because eventually the legs give out and you can't just beat guys off the dribble. He should be working on that skill now so in 5-6 years he'll be ready for it. Right now his game is simply to shoot long jump shots, threes, and drive the basketball. That's fine, and clearly it works well for him, but he could be THAT much better if he developed an all around game. But that's exactly the problem. Whereas guys like Jordan and Kobe wanted to be the best at everything, always, Lebron seems to be satisfied with settling a bit. And I know he puts up impressive stats, but so did guys like Iverson, and I never considered him the best or second best player in the game. Just to be clear, I'm not saying Lebron is awful. He's cleary one of the handful of great, great players in the league. But his athleticism is what makes him that way, not his pure basketball talent. Iverson's number were never any where near what Lebron was doing. Yes, Iverson could obviously score with anyone in the game but the rest of his game(including defensive impact) were not even in Lebrons league. As for the bolded part, I'm not going to argue that, but who the hell cares?
  2. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 08:12 PM) If I were a Bulls fan (YESSSSSSS, Hawks score!!!) I would take anyone besides LeSelfish. Any Bulls fan would have to be clinically insane to not want Lebron on the team. The end.
  3. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 09:38 AM) No way. Kobe is clearly the best player in the league, and I dunno that it's really that close of a discussion. Look, fact is I'd love to have LeBron if for no other reason than the other team is forced to pay tons of attention to him so guys like Rose and Noah can do their thing. He's also getting the superstar treatment, which allows him to drive the lane and get to the line 9 times out of 10. But I don't think he's anywhere near as good as people make him out to be. As you say the lack of ANY post game is ridiculous for a guy with his size and speed. And he's been in the league for what, 6 years now? He's not going to be the next Jordan, nor will he ever be the next Jordan. I think that ship has already sailed. Kobe is the only other person close enough to do that. I'd still love him on the Bulls though. He lacks a post game because he just doesn't need one. Would you like him to average 40 and 15 or something? Dude's numbers are absolutely insane and statistically he is far and away the best player in this league. I agree that he'll never be Jordan(no one ever will) but to say he's no where near as good as people make him out to be is absolutely crazy. And remember, I hate that asshole at the moment but I'll learn to love him if he becomes a Bull because we'd win multiple championships, easily.
  4. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 01:39 AM) I'll add that to all the other "Im done posting here if..." crap I've seen from posters over the years.. BTW, I believe someone has hacked into Rowand's account. Ha, no one's hacked into my account, I can promise you that. Ace, Bulls get at least two, guarantee it.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 09:12 PM) ESPN just said that the Cavs won 2 of the 3 games against the Bulls. Didn't they play 4 times? They did. If the Bulls don't win at least 2, I'm done posting here and you guys can hold me to that.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 02:05 PM) If you're gonna suck, it's better to REALLY suck. Indeed. If you have to build up a franchise, aren't too many better starting blocks than Harper and Strasburg.

"Pitching and hitting for a good average in the first two weeks of the season win championships." Get back to me in a month when he comes crashing down to earth with the bat, only to remain consistent in his s***ty base running and defense.
  8. I expect the pen to be solid all year long. I'm sure Linebrink will have a dip in production in the 2nd half per usual but besides him and Randy Williams everyone else in the pen should be real good all year imo.
  9. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 11:58 PM) In other upset news.. Capitals lost today to the Canadians. Vancouver unfortunately won against the Kings, though that was a great game. Buffalo also won. Miller was amazing as usual. Can't decide whether to root for Buffalo or not. Ryan Miller instantly became one of my favorite athletes in any sport during the olympics but at the same time I'd rather the Hawks not have to face him if we get to the Stanley Cup finals.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 10:46 AM) Lebron is putting on angry face now, no more dancing after making a shot Hopefully someone clocks him in the face if he dances at all during this series. GO BULLS!!!
  11. I'm pretty sure I'm becoming Joe Crede. I f***ed up my back on Sunday and in my softball league, I'm very good defensively at 3rd but I keep popping every damn pitch up, it's quite irritating.
  12. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 12:53 PM) So you're saying Oden isn't good because of injury? And that if he never suffered injuries in the NBA, he'd be better than Kevin Durant? I'm saying that Oden would be a game changer right now if he didn't keep getting injured. He was turning into one hell of a player before he got hurt once again this season. Would he be better than Durant? Hell no but he certainly would be one hell of a valuable asset and would have Portland as one heck of a dangerous team in the playoffs.
  13. Those results couldn't have been better last night. Obviously it's only 1 game but it'd be nice if all those series finish with the same result as game 1.
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 08:48 PM) I can't believe people would be rooting against the Bulls. If we miss the playoffs and don't get a top pick, MIL swaps with us and we're a f***ed non-playoff team with the 18th pick. If we DO win the lottery, and get any of the top 3 picks, we lose our ability to sign a max free agent in the offseason, first and foremost. 2nd, you're forced to pick Wall if you have the top pick and then you have to make it work with him and Rose. And IMO, Wall is pretty overrated anyway. I think Turner is the best player in this draft. See: Oden, Durant. Third, we made the playoffs and now we have the opportunity for Rose, Noah, Gibson, and others get valuable playoff experience. We saw Rose take it to another level last year in the playoffs. He's not guided this team to the playoffs in both his first 2 seasons. Do I expect to beat Cleveland? Not at all. Do I expect us to put up a fight? Of course. There is no possible way the Bulls MISSING the playoffs helps the team. Wall isn't overrated as a NBA prospect neither was/is Oden, now if you're going to predict a Wall injury than that's fine but otherwise he's the best prospect in this draft. Don't get me wrong, I love Evan Turner and think he's going to be quite the NBA player but he'd be 3rd on my personal draft board behind Wall and Cousins, he's just not as good a prospect as either of those guys. Anyways, I agree with the rest of your post though, like I said earlier, this Bulls team is fighting for the 5th spot if Noah didn't miss that month and that's not even including the other injuries. I agree with Brian, I see us losing in 6 and wouldn't be surprised if we take it to 7. We're not going to win it but it will be a good series and there's no way in hell we get swept.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 06:43 PM) God, I hate Jim Nantz. http://sports.yahoo.com/golf/blog/devil_ba...urn=golf,233852 Seriously, Nantz is a f***in tool.
  16. QUOTE (dmbjeff @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 01:52 AM) The past few years CC Sabathia has been garbage in April yet he always puts up insanely good seasons. Baseball is a marathon, not a sprint. His stuff looked better than Jakes does right now. I'm certainly not in all out panic mode but I'd be lying if I said I'm not worried at this point. The velocity being where it is, is definitely cause for concern and the inconsistency of his slider is as well, not to mention he's pretty much throwing 0 offspeed stuff at this point. I'm looking at 2 more starts for him to regain his stuff/consistency on his slider, if he still looks terrible, I will be panicking.
  17. Well this team is probably fighting with Milwaukee and Miami for the 5 seed if Noah didn't miss a month so to say that the Bulls suck is quite a stretch if you ask me. Not even counting the other injuries or the fact that Rose wasn't healthy for a while to start the season. A healthy Rose and Noah allow this team to give Cleveland at least an exciting series. I'll take that over the 1.8 percent chance we have at getting a top 3 pick because that just isn't happening again.
  18. QUOTE (longshot7 @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 11:38 AM) Let's hope the Bulls do themselves a favor and lose. We need the draft pick more than we need to be swept by the Cavs. Considering Milwaukee gets to swap their first rounder with us as long as it's not a top 10 pick(which it wont be win or lose), we might as well win and make the playoffs.
  19. Eh, there's a ton of things that Ozzie does that piss me off, this quote probably doesn't crack the top 100000000. It doesn't bother me at all.
  20. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 03:16 PM) Our best hitter right now is not Beckham. People need to get over the hype, the guy is good, but hes not a superstar yet and its very likely that he may experience some problems in his sophomore campaign. Teams are already shading him to RF and as pitchers get better scouting reports on him he is going to have to learn to adjust. He has a ton of raw natural talent as a hitter, but he still has a lot to learn about being a professional hitter. Arguable. You say he's not a superstar yet, while that might be true, we don't have a superstar in our lineup besides a healthy Quentin. You can say he's going to go into a sophomore slump but I'll argue that he's going to improve quite a bit considering last year was not only his rookie season but it was his first full season in professional baseball. Of course he'll go into a slump at some point this season(considering every hitter in baseball does) but with this current lineup he already had the 2nd best season out of anyone last year and I'd bet he'll be right around there again this year(1st or 2nd depending on the health of Carlos).
  21. Nobody knows and that's the problem. His offense is too damn important to our team to f*** around with him. If someone can find me just one quote from a player saying they like to dh or that it helps their swing then I'll change my opinion but I guarantee you can't find one, cause they don't exist. He's not a liability in rf and until that happens he needs to remain out there.
  22. We're going to win cause Mark is pitching. That's how it works.
  23. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 05:15 PM) Quote myself here, cause I just talked to my buddy at the athletics office. It's a done deal that they're transferring. Unf***in real. Brian, you asked me what the bigger news is, I can just say it's about to get much, much worse. We're done, the end.
  24. QUOTE (G&T @ Apr 10, 2010 -> 04:08 PM) I wouldn't feel so bad except I fear that when the offense starts hitting, the pitching will be struggling. Eh, there's really no reason this staff should go through a slump as a whole, it's just to good of a rotation 1-5(barring injury of course).
