  1. Anybody been to Red Ivy in Wrigleyville before? I'm going there tonight for a friends bday and I was wondering if they have a dress code.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 11:48 PM) At least for the big time baseball fan in me, the guy that prefers, pitching, defense, speed, hitting for average, and stolen bases as opposed to sitting back and waiting for a 3 run hr. Ya, you know I'm the same way in that respect. I'm looking forward to seeing all these guys very soon. Being in Carbondale all year, I just haven't seen these guys play as much as I did when I was still living in Chicago.
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 11:14 PM) He's gotta get that K% down. It's one thing to K a lot when you're Ryan Howard. Danks doesn't project for much power. Agreed. Numbers wise, that's the only thing he's done wrong so far this year though.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 11:09 PM) Apparently Buddy Bell commented yesterday that he's ready for the majors. So I think we see him this year, but that of course is because I see some massive changes going on in Chicago this season. I also think we might end up seeing all of the Bham guys shortly (Flowers/Allen/Viciedo). If we go into fire sale mode then ya, I'm sure we see Danks this season. I can't wait to see Danks play personally, combine his outstanding numbers so far with the talent that I've read he has(still never seen him play) and that's just an exciting prospect.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 12:03 AM) I can't disagree with you too much, I rank Danks ahead of him but thats it. Danks is just absolutely raking right now. It'll be interesting to see how quickly the Sox move him along. If he keeps hitting at this pace, he has to be the cf next season, no? Granted, I'm sure people wouldn't be happy with another non proven player manning cf but it'd be hard to keep him out of that role imo.
  6. Love seeing the improvement in Dayan. That's really all you can ask from him at this point considering his age, park, etc. Hard not to love Flowers though, awesome to see him have a .920 ops in Birmingham, that's pretty impressive.
  7. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 09:56 PM) That's almost fair. What are the standards? Well he's 0 for 6 right now. So 69 for 75?
  8. Alright Gordon that's enough of that.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 07:35 PM) At least it's you. Can you believe it's been 4 years since we used to argue every day about the 2005 team? Ah the good ol' days.
  10. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 07:32 PM) I really want to believe Beckham has been told to swing early in the count by Walker, because if he has decided on his own to take two swings at the plate without so much as seeing what Pavano throws, he's not impressing me with his baseball intelligence. He's probably just overanxious to get his first hit. Time to call up the Birmingham lineup. There ya go, Fathom.
  11. Or 2 pitches and 2 outs for Becks tonight.
  12. Well at least Beckham's first hit is going to be a homer right here.
  13. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 08:12 PM) I included it. We didn't score after the 4th inning. Ya, you're right, I'm retarded. My bad.
  14. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 08:06 PM) BTW, we have not scored a run in the past 20 innings and only scored 1 in the past 23. That's not true, you're missing Wednesdays game.
  15. Jesus christ, Getz. Wow Wow Wow Wow Wow Wow Wow
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 07:02 PM) Danks is up in the zone with everything. He's significantly more lost than Floyd is. Floyd looks to at least have found his game. Danks is completely, completely lost out there right now.
  17. I miss last years John Danks.
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 11:55 AM) I've never been to a Sonic either. Ditto.
  19. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 08:37 AM) dont drive yourself there, you will run into lots of trucks on the interstate, and we dont want you to get caught in one of those strange "drafts" again Haha, well played.
  20. Going to my first game of the season. Really couldn't be a better game. SLAYERRRRRRR.
  21. SLAYERRRRRRRRR
  22. QUOTE (greasywheels121 @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 07:31 PM) Now that you're alive; we need to catch a Sox game in the near future. I concur. I'm in for a week. The only day I have s*** to do is Saturday.
