  1. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 03:11 PM) Why Slayer couldn't have number 6. lol, well played.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 03:09 PM) Supposedly Buddy Bell said he's major league ready right now. Ya, I heard that. If we lay an egg against Detroit, we might see him very, very soon.
  3. So Jordan Danks got out in his 2nd ab today. His average plummeted down to .357.
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 03:00 PM) We could make quite the killing selling off our bullpen. Indeed. The question would be, do we trade Thornton or Jenks? Those two guys could bring in a s*** ton of talent.
  5. Ball didn't stretch. And wow, I seriously feel bad for PK.
  6. How is it that following a Birmingham game on the internet is so much more fun than watching the White Sox on tv?
  7. If you guys wanna watch something that doesn't suck, the Sandlot is on ABC family right now.
  8. I'm pretty sure I would have turned this game off already if Beckham wasn't playing.
  9. So who is ready to see Jordan Danks and Poreda? At least that'll make things exciting.
  10. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 01:07 PM) Carlos Lee hit a home run his first game, correct? First ab iirc.
  11. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 01:07 PM) what's less than 0%? The White Sox.
  12. Hey a baserunner. What are the chances he scores? 0 percent?
  13. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 02:02 PM) I know I have been clamoring for Poreda to be called up, but I can just see him walking like 7 in his ML debut. When was the last time a player, pitcher or hitter, has actually performed well in the ML debut? Arnie Munoz...or not.
  14. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 11:47 AM) haha, they're sitting beckham f***ing idiots, just f***ing idiots maybe they'll sub him in later, doubt it though Wow. What a joke.
  15. Anybody been to Red Ivy in Wrigleyville before? I'm going there tonight for a friends bday and I was wondering if they have a dress code.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 11:48 PM) At least for the big time baseball fan in me, the guy that prefers, pitching, defense, speed, hitting for average, and stolen bases as opposed to sitting back and waiting for a 3 run hr. Ya, you know I'm the same way in that respect. I'm looking forward to seeing all these guys very soon. Being in Carbondale all year, I just haven't seen these guys play as much as I did when I was still living in Chicago.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 11:14 PM) He's gotta get that K% down. It's one thing to K a lot when you're Ryan Howard. Danks doesn't project for much power. Agreed. Numbers wise, that's the only thing he's done wrong so far this year though.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 11:09 PM) Apparently Buddy Bell commented yesterday that he's ready for the majors. So I think we see him this year, but that of course is because I see some massive changes going on in Chicago this season. I also think we might end up seeing all of the Bham guys shortly (Flowers/Allen/Viciedo). If we go into fire sale mode then ya, I'm sure we see Danks this season. I can't wait to see Danks play personally, combine his outstanding numbers so far with the talent that I've read he has(still never seen him play) and that's just an exciting prospect.
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 12:03 AM) I can't disagree with you too much, I rank Danks ahead of him but thats it. Danks is just absolutely raking right now. It'll be interesting to see how quickly the Sox move him along. If he keeps hitting at this pace, he has to be the cf next season, no? Granted, I'm sure people wouldn't be happy with another non proven player manning cf but it'd be hard to keep him out of that role imo.
