  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 01:48 PM) I honestly don't believe Allen would be a huge piece in any trade. He's a solid prospect, but he's definitely not a game-changing prospect with regards to a trade package. Completely agree.
  2. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 01:07 PM) The playoff teams are more likely to represent the 2008 Rays, certainly not the last place 2008 Tigers. Detroit finished 4th in the American League in runs scored last year. The offense was actually pretty darn solid. Not to mention that was their World Series as well. It's obvious that you just have a vendetta against Gavin, so be it.
  3. QUOTE (dbaho @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 09:30 AM) But even with him, would we be able to win a world series with him? I'd have serious doubts You go into the playoffs with a rotation of: Halladay, Buehrle, Danks, Floyd and you have a legit shot to win the World Series, period.
  4. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 12:25 PM) Gavin = Mental midget. See last year's playoff performance. lol. What happened when he pitched in the make up game against the Tigers last year to keep our season alive again?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 06:12 PM) 22? WTF? You guys are so much younger than I assume. Happy B-day! Wite's an old ass man now. Don't know what you're talking about.
  6. For me, anybody in our minor leagues and also Aaron Poreda are fair game in a trade for Halladay. Halladay right away makes this team a legit World Series contender and that's something I'm willing to take a chance on.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) The guy hasn't caught that much in his career. To be honest, no one quite knows what his future is behind the dish. We have to let the kid play and see if he is going to grow into it or not. It seems like he's improved a lot behind the plate. He still has a long way to go but it's very encouraging to see him improve this much already.
  8. The first two players Riccardi would ask for would be Beckham and Danks, almost positive on that. Also positive in saying that Kenny wouldn't trade John or Gordon. Honestly, since those names wouldn't work, I'm sure Tyler Flowers and Poreda would have to be involved. I think the only way something between us and Toronto would happen is if our package at least involved 3 really good prospects and at least another solid one. Maybe a package like: Flowers, Poreda, Allen/Dayan and Richard. I still don't know if the Blue Jays would do that but I really think they'd want at least something along those lines.

You better be drunk already. Happy bday, man.
  11. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 11:41 PM) Get fat. Pretty much. I'd be a bum for sure. Season tickets for the Sox, SIU basketball, Blackhawks and Bulls. That and lots of good alcohol, that's all I need.
  12. QUOTE (Texsox @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 08:47 PM) No Lou's, but pretty damn good. Still my favorite food in the world is their deep dish sausage pizza. As a matter of fact, I'm eating a slice right now.

QUOTE (greasywheels121 @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 03:52 PM) I was waiting for the results to be posted, before I wrote this--I ran the Race for Young Life 5K in Palatine yesterday morning in 21:20. It was a great time, especially since the rains held off; it only spit on us during the run. I ended up placing 26th out of 250+. Also, I surprisingly won the male 20-24 age class, which was an awesome shock. I got a certificate yesterday, and they send personalized trophy/plaques to the winners via mail. I'm hoping to go to Ohio to visit a college buddy in mid-August, where we're planning on doing a race there. If not, I signed up for the Windrunner 10K in Wheaton at the end of August, as my final tune-up before the Walter Payton 16,726 Yard Run in September. Damn. Impressive man.
  14. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 02:50 PM) I really like Bloomquist. Ah, finally something we can argue about again. Haha, it's been a while.
  15. I'm sorry Wite but I despise Willie Bloomquist.
  16. I've always despised fan voting but even more so now that the game actually means something. You can't have it both ways imo, it's freakin stupid.
  17. I'm surprised Hawk knows what a text message is.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 02:45 PM) We have like 5 rocket outs today, and KC has so many cheap hits. Very deflating. I only got home an inning ago but this is already beyond frustrating.
  19. Cmon Scott, lets not do this.
  20. Pods can't get out, that never happened.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:21 PM) Danks leaves with an ERA down to 3.76. Lets finish this one off and get Gavins era under 4 tomorrow.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:19 PM) Callaspo's been quite a bit better against LHP than against RHP. Yup. Had to use Liney or Dotel here. Right move.
  23. Great outing Danks. Cmon Liney!
