7/18 Games
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 05:34 PM) Hansen had a no-hitter through 5 2/3 but then hit a guy and gave up a single. Now he's done for the day. 8K, 2BB, 1H. Dude can't even throw a no hitter in a 7 inning game. What a bum.

Stats on Renteria being tossed
In a season like this I'm completely cool with it. Be entertaining.

Robertson deal close?
QUOTE (Quin @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 12:23 PM) ...did my memory fabricate this last year? I legit just don't remember. I certainly wouldn't be shocked if there were people trying to dfa Rob, I just don't recall.

Robertson deal close?
QUOTE (Quin @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 11:57 AM) Remember when a bunch of people wanted to DFA Robertson? Man times change. Was that actually a thing? My dumbass would have dfa'd Avi but I don't remember the dfa Robertson bandwagon as much.

How do you rate the rebuild so far?
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 12:14 AM) I am not a prospects guy. I like proven players, though not many hitters are truly elite and not many pitchers are truly elite any more. That said, a lot of you are prospects people so I ask you, since so many gave the rebuild a 9 or 10 in this thread: Taking all the talent the Sox have acquired into consideration and assuming we keep Abreu around as well as Rodon and Anderson ... can you assure me 1 to 3 World Series appearances only taking the guys we acquired and our homegrown minor leaguers into consideration as well as the fact the Sox are sure to get some more good prospects for David Robertson and maybe Melky? Can you assure me 1-3 World Series appearances and/or WS titles? I gave the rebuild 2 so far cause I need proof and I am not a prospects guy. No. Can't assure that for any team in the history of baseball. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 08:00 AM) 1) I read in todays Sun Times that the team is not expecting much in return for Frazier and Robertson after they're traded. You have to see how this plays out but I don't doubt that we will receive next to nothing for them. This only confirms to me that this isn't a rebuild. Its simply a salary dump by JR. I figure by Opening Day 2019 the team will have a payroll of somewhere around $30 million. Considering that the team grosses over $260 million every year, JR is looking at making more serious money. This team will be so bad by then I wouldn't be surprised to see the team have a Turn Back The Clock day with the players dressed in the uniforms of the St. Louis Browns.Hopefully sometime around 2019 this team will have new ownership in place to turn around this train wreck of a franchise. 2) I've always been a fan of Hawk Harrelson as a announcer. I wish this was his last season. It's time for him to go. One of his constant remarks the last 2 seasons is that JR is not going to let the Cubs take over the city. After this Quintana trade I wonder if he's going to use that same comment. This is just garbage.

Robertson deal close?
QUOTE (Sockin @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 11:29 AM) I think with the track record not being there, most teams would be reluctant. Packaging Robertson with him gives you assurance I feel like and teams might be more willing to part with something. That would be my guess but like I said because he's such a different case, I'm really not sure where his value is.

Robertson deal close?
Can Kahnle get a top 100 prospect? I'm really not sure of that. He's such an interesting case that I'm still not sure what exactly his value is. Obviously, if you're not getting a great offer for him then you hold onto him but I'll be interested to see what happens there.

The Big Moves
I'll go with the Sale deal. For my money we got the best hitting and best pitching prospect in baseball in that one, not to mention 2 other players that at least have some upside to be Major League players. Obviously you're trading a guy who is one of the 2 best pitchers in baseball so you better be getting a haul but the upside of that deal has the chance to be enormous.

**World Soxtalk Championship Wrestling Thread V**
QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 10:19 PM) Kinda lame but super intriguing to me. Jason Jordan could be a star if pushed right....... At some point I wanna see it lead to AA splitting and feuding. I agree. The story is lame but Jordan working with Angle could be great. Gable is going to be a star by himself too. And AA is a split now and being on separate brands we wont get a feud for a while.

Which trio of SP's will have the highest career WAR?
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 09:15 PM) I also think Kopech has the highest chances of busting too. I personally don't agree with this at all.

Nationals acquire Doolittle/Madson from As
You'd think if it was an injury to Robles we'd know by now. At the same time you think someone would have picked up if there was a trade. Basically, this post of mine is worthless.

I voted the Birmingham guys cause I think Kopech is going to be a legit ace but damn, good question.

How do you rate the rebuild so far?
QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 11:54 AM) I'd estimate that Anderson would barely be in top 15 if he was in our minor league system right now. Sanchez and Saladino were never MLB starting caliber guys to begin with. They'd probably be way down in the 20s on the present list. Anderson was a top 75 prospect, he'd be in our top 15.

Robertson deal close?
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 07:03 AM) As others have said, you're going to have to temper your expectations in what we actually get Just like Quintana...

Nationals acquire Doolittle/Madson from As
QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 16, 2017 -> 10:02 AM) Better be getting robles especially if sox are eating robertson money too. Eh thought you were just talking about DRob, my mistake. Still highly doubtful that anything like that would happen.

7/15 Games
QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 15, 2017 -> 08:25 PM) 2 run double for Micker. 2 new draft picks and a guy that basically re-became a prospect this year. Just a fun follow.

Bad day for Guerrero. Guess he was due for one.

Frazier to Boston Rumors getting heavy
QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jul 15, 2017 -> 08:03 PM) I don't necessarily think we can say that anymore with 100% certainty. We all thought they'd never go over-slot and get Robert and look how that turned out. QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 15, 2017 -> 08:08 PM) This is correct. Over the last year, we've seen a number of things very out of the ordinary from the Sox. I wouldn't rule anything out. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 15, 2017 -> 08:12 PM) With that pile of talent, all of whom will be cheap from 2019-2022, we are being dumb if we're not players after 2018. We could lose, prices could get out of the range that make sense for us based on the fact that we're probably not there in 2019...but that money is going to have to go somewhere. QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 15, 2017 -> 08:18 PM) And if the core develops like we all hope, the pressure will be on from the media and the fans to fill in the gaps with some big free agent additions. For the most part, Sox fans have bought into this rebuild, accept the plan and are willing to see it out. If the plan fails, the fans aren't going to be as accepting of another reset. Point is, they better make this rebuild count. That may include adding an big ticket item or two to surround the kids with. All of this.

Frazier to Boston Rumors getting heavy
I'll believe it when it comes from a credible source but Ockimey definitely seems to be the type of guy they've been targeting as of late.
