2016-2017 NBA Thread
I'm just going to answer you both at once here and leave it at that. Yes shack, I watched the game, I wouldn't be commenting if I didn't. I'm not sure what the +- stat is supposed to mean. He was the highest of a whole 3 guys(and Kyrie isn't part of that) who had a positive +- for the Cavs. Durant had the absurd +- of 0 in the game, it's just a flawed stat. As for the play itself, LeBron did make a move to drive to the hoop, he ended up going left and got caught by the help. If he drives right, maybe he gets an easy 2, maybe Dray is such a good defender he forces a tough shot, maybe Klay drops down and cuts him off and maybe Durant who is already sliding over when LeBron starts to drive meets him at the rim. We have no idea. What we do know is that Korver is insane from that left corner and LeBron thought it was the best play at the time. He missed, maybe Jordan's legacy isn't the same if Paxson and/or Kerr missed in those finals. Fortunately for us Bulls fans, they did not.

Korver almost never misses that shot, it was the right play per usual by LeBron. Can't believe we're still doing the LeBron is too passive routine in 2017.

6/6 Games
QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 6, 2017 -> 10:26 PM) Dunning threw at Erceg a couple weeks ago after he hit a three run homer. Dunning served a suspension. Tonight, the same guy hit another 3-run hr. Ahh, I somehow missed that. Thanks!

Quite the interesting statline for Dane today. Didn't see the game, what's the deal with him throwing at some one?

6/6 Games
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Jun 6, 2017 -> 12:54 PM) He was doing fine until he blew up in the 6th inning. 5 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K through 5. 1/3 IP, 0 H, 3 ER, 3 BB in the 6th inning alone. He walked 3 straight to load the bases, was pulled, and Leyer ended up allowing all 3 inherited runners to score. Right but he struggled in the first 2 innings as well. He's allowed to have a non perfect start, like I said, just not the prettiest game he's ever pitched.

6/6 Games
Not one of Kopech's prettier starts, that's for sure.
-
6/5 Game
I think Hansen, Gio and Kopech have combined for approximately 18000000 strike outs the last week.

6/5 Game
11 K's. ERA under 5 now. Love it.

6/5 Game
QUOTE (daggins @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 08:46 PM) Mostly just concerned about the recent power outage, although it could be linked to the thumb. His slash line is still fine and the K rate is improving, with BB holding steady. Ya he's fine. He's slumping after being injured, it happens at times. I have 0 worry about him.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 08:28 PM) Infield hit in the first inning is changed to an error. Giolito 4 IP, 7K, 2BB, ER. 64 pitches, 43 strikes. Beat me to it.

6/5 Game
Looks like they changed one of the hits to an error too. This type of start is super encouraging.

6/3 Games
Ya it's time for Hansen to go to Winston Salem.

2017 Cubs Catch-all thread
QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Jun 2, 2017 -> 02:32 PM) Pretty much. Bryant will likely finish his career as a Cub, but it's going to cost them. But if Harper is going to get astronomical pay, Bryant is going to be worth it. That's quite the assumption.

2017 Cubs Catch-all thread
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 1, 2017 -> 12:00 PM) I dont think they really assessed Dexter Fowlers true value correctly, which is really surprising to me. Both his defense and top of the order offense were exactly what this team is missing right now. Thinking Schwarber could just step in and lead off and provide the same offensive production was incredibly arrogant I think they made the right move with Fowler. I'm sure their assessing of the situation was that he had a career year at the age of 30, was going to get paid for it and they had a ready to go fill in with Almora who at the very least is going to be a better defender. If they could have kept the 2016 Fowler forever then I'm sure they would have but I'm guessing they thought he was going to regress back to his good but not great career path and wouldn't be worth what he's getting paid(considering they have Almora) and so far that seems to be correct.

2017 Cubs Catch-all thread
I think it's fair to mention just how young some of these guys are too. They're really a victim of their own success(es) right now. Russell may never be a super star but he's still only 23. Maybe Schwarber is going to be a complete bust but he also just turned 24 and missed a whole season due to injury. I honestly don't believe this year's Cubs team is all that great because their pitching is super mediocre in my mind but if I had to guess, I'd bet Russell and Schwarber will be just fine in the long run.
