  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 3, 2017 -> 04:14 PM) No need to do that. Just marvel at the current NBA as a whole for the time being. We're about 5-6 weeks away from what is shaping up to be the greatest nba finals of all-time. The Bulls, at some point, will get with the times. Can't be this inept forever. You've flip flopped on the Cavs like 47 times this season. Now this is going to be the greatest NBA finals of all time?
  2. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 3, 2017 -> 03:12 PM) mike trout - year in and year out the best player in the majors, and STILL manages to be possibly the most underrated player in the majors. I know that everyone realizes he's the best player in the majors...but do they? this is rhetorical btw Everything in this post makes too much sense ha.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2017 -> 02:13 PM) Ha, gotta be quicker than that. Work, always messing with my Soxtalk edit speeds!
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2017 -> 02:10 PM) 2020. Ya, I'm an idiot. Thought that was the case originally then saw something that said otherwise then figured out it. That's why I edited and re-edited ha.
  5. So if Avi is indeed a big league regular now what the hell do you do with him? He's a free agent like right when we expect the team to take off but he's still only 25. Interesting conundrum.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2017 -> 01:52 PM) True, but I would like to thing relevant here. Moncada has been playing well, but isn't exactly FORCING himself to be called up yet either. His strike out rate is still a pretty significant red flag. He's still sitting just under 1 out of 3 PAs with a K. It's not quite Joey Gallo territory, but you also aren't getting his ridiculous power. Moncada's #1 asset is his speed, which does you no good if he isn't making contact. If Joey Gallo was in the minors he'd still be striking out at a stupid rate, it's just who he is. I've said my opinion 8 million times on this so I really shouldn't be getting back into it but I'll always believe the best way for these guys to get better is to play the best competition. I think it's best for Yoan's development to be in the majors as soon as possible but I know a ton of people are going to disagree with me.
  7. Best player in White Sox history if we're being honest.
  8. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 3, 2017 -> 12:36 PM) Cubs rotation is kind of scary. Arrieta - Has been great but is a FA. Lester - Just 2 QS in 6 outings. More walks, less swings and misses. Lackey - Now the 5th oldest player in the league. Hendricks - Doubling the walks, doubling the homers and a .227 BABIP has aided him to a 4.18 ERA. Smoke and mirrors up. Anderson - Hasn't gotten hurt yet but he sucks now. On the farm, they have Eddie Butler and Williams Perez backing them up. Pierce Johnson is a reliever now. UUUUUUUUGly. Jake has been super meh this year too. Definitely saw the Hendricks regression coming but I think Lester will be ok going forward. Their rotation isn't super exciting at the moment that's for sure.

Took long enough for Gordon Beckham to be brought up.

Ya I'm not too worried about the super 2 deadline personally. If I had my way, I'd get that extra year of control and let him start facing MLB pitching.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 3, 2017 -> 12:40 PM) In a perfect world, I'd like to see him get that K rate down closer to 25% before calling him up. Obviously we all want the k rate to go down but it's not going to stop me from calling him up once May 14th passes. He can continue to get better at the big league level.

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ May 3, 2017 -> 10:52 AM) I know he isn't fixed yet like we all thought he would be but this is still premature,no? disaster? cmon. It's SUPER premature. Look, the velocity is absolutely a concern and something to pay attention to but it's also not as crazy bad as fathom has been going off on lately. He could be working on stuff, he could be trying to get his mechanics straight or he might just be off to a really bad start. All I know is he's a 22 year old in AAA who has had success in the past and whose breaking ball is at least missing bats at the moment. He's a project at this point but to call him is a disaster is even too fathom-y for fathom.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2017 -> 10:48 AM) Giolito really sucks. So many excuses made for him being a disaster You've just been waiting to say this, haven't you?
  14. Rowand44 replied to flavum's topic in FutureSox Board
Man that Moncada homer was something. A bomb to left center batting lefty. That's some impressive pop.
  15. Rowand44 replied to flavum's topic in FutureSox Board
    Did Yoan hit a bomb?

Looks like Zack helped out Dane in the first few and now he's settled down.
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ May 2, 2017 -> 04:46 PM) I think the title and formatting kinda led us to answer. This is true.
  18. QUOTE (daggins @ May 2, 2017 -> 04:39 PM) If you read the article, he says he was wrong then and isn't changing his mind now. He likes the trades. Yup. All of us(including myself) should have read the article before commenting. Whoops.
  19. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ May 2, 2017 -> 04:12 PM) I don't see it. Dude gets hit HARD. Probably. His stuff might play much better in the bullpen though. He'll probably still suck but I'm interested to find out.
  20. I was waiting for this type of article to come out.
  21. I'm actually intrigued to see Covey in the bullpen. I don't think he has what it takes to cut it as a starter in the majors but something might be there as a reliever.
  22. That escalated quickly.
  23. QUOTE (Brian @ May 2, 2017 -> 05:12 AM) Enjoyed most of Raw last night for once. Alexa did a great job in the first segment, but poor Finn. Has to work with Bray now. I also think Titus could make a great manager. There's going to be a demon in a haunted house!!!!! In all honesty and I don't know why, I'm kind of intrigued by Finn and Bray even though there's a 99 percent likelihood they make it super corny and terrible. There's at least the slightest possibility they can do something interesting. I only saw the women's stuff as I had a basketball game but that was good stuff. Heard the ME was fantastic so I'm going to have to give that a watch at some point.
  24. Haha poor Feeky.
  25. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 1, 2017 -> 11:17 AM) Maybe next time get the MRI when asked to? Seriously. I'm a big fan of Noah but damn that was stupid.
