  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 28, 2017 -> 10:11 AM) Ugh I can honestly say I hate the line of thinking on number 9 there. But you're going to be hearing it until the season starts.
  2. Ya I've heard one of the biggest pluses with Trubisky was his accuracy so not sure why Gruden thinks that.
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 28, 2017 -> 09:41 AM) I like this format. I know Spencer getting 10ks kind of catches him up, but surprised to see his k/9 not that far off from Fulmer. I haven't seen him pitch this year yet or dove too deeply into his numbers but supposedly Fulmer has been racking up the ground balls.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 28, 2017 -> 09:37 AM) I don't like having to lose picks to get him, just wondering if there's something beyond the experience. Everything on him I saw/read was positive except for "how did he lose out twice to start in college" Lack of familiarity for most people probably. It's a little different obviously but every time an NBA team drafts a guy from overseas it's almost always hated by the fan base.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 28, 2017 -> 09:13 AM) Ryan Pace has picked his nose. Scrolling through real quick this is how I initially read this post.
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 28, 2017 -> 07:28 AM) My main issue is, that most likely, Trubisky would have been there at #3. The 49ers didn't want to move too far down in the draft, so they wouldn't have traded down with just anyone; so why waste three picks on someone that you could have selected without having to do anything? Plus, Trubisky is not an immediate starter, so why be concerned if you are forced to shore up your porous secondary instead of him? Kizer is still out there and, honestly, he's not much different from Trubisky. If I were a Bears fan this would be the last thing that I cared about. They're going through a process here so drafting just to get a littler bit better in a rebuilding year doesn't seem like the best strategy.
  7. I'm not even going to pretend to have seen Trubisky play a lot but if anything it's a ballsy pick that's for sure. Pace hitched his whole damn career to this pick.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 09:40 PM) But they are also all so good. Schiano called him the next Ed Reed. And our secondary was flat out incredible. Just wait until next year, the D line is going to have several picks and ill be just as bad. But I also wont call for anyone to take JT Barrett 8 million bucks says that Rock sees JT Barrett as a value pick somewhere next year at this time.
  9. Chris Sale is good guys, I'm pretty shocked myself.
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 02:35 PM) Let's not forget KC is last in MLB OPS. It's going to take a very nice run in May to be close to that offseason value. It's going to take Quintana pitching like Quintana, nothing crazy really.
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 12:29 PM) Sox coaches, two of them, have told me they see him as a reliever in the majors. But both were more than a year ago. Maybe they've changed their minds. We'll know for sure when Stephens comes back. Oh I know that's how they at least have viewed him in the past. Think he's earned his chance to stay in the rotation for now though.
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 12:18 PM) Good call. Though I think he's a promotion candidate to the bullpen in Charlotte, but won't move until Stephens returns. Gonna be a lot of angry people if they stick him in the bullpen anytime soon. I know they've made mention of it before but he's done nothing but produce in the rotation as a professional so far.

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 11:02 AM) Danish 2.14 ERA. If he can be a long reliever/spot starter, I think we'd take that. He's a guy I want starting in Chicago very soon. He's the type of fringy prospect that I want an extended look at in a year like this.
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 10:42 AM) Lotsa teams want to trade down. Not a lot want to trade up. Possibly nobody, aside from 1-2 pick swapping. I feel like every team's fan base every year wants their team to trade down. Easier said than done.
  15. Good stuff per usual. I still see no good reason to keep throwing Dunning out in Kanny. He's not being challenged and I don't think it does him any good to keep dominating lesser opponents.
  16. Collins now sporting a .387 obp with a .182 batting average, ha.
  17. Ya at least the K rate is way up the last 2 starts. He's a big time work in progress but there's at least some positives the last few starts despite him letting up some runs today.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 26, 2017 -> 05:52 PM) We are increasing the value of so many pieces right now. I hope they all continue to look legit and then we can flip everyone. Definitely.
  19. QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 26, 2017 -> 04:43 PM) Albers was lights out at this time last year. And hitting doubles.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 26, 2017 -> 04:40 PM) It has been three weeks. No one has earned anything for the rest of the season yet. Definitely. He's earned the right to start for the time being but 3 weeks from now his numbers might be complete garbage again. We'll see what happens.
  21. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 26, 2017 -> 04:15 PM) Yea but this crew is just more talented. They won't be this good all year but I see no reason to predict a melt down. They have some really good stuff back there. Ya until they starting selling off some pieces I think the bullpen is pretty darn legit.
  22. I was 17 for my first few weeks of college. It really sucked too cause you had to be 19 to get into Carbondale bars so I didn't get into the bar scene a lot my freshman year.
  23. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 26, 2017 -> 03:21 PM) Yes he is. And he's the one bringing in the dough for ESPN. Does he though? That's the obvious reason people think he's still around but it's not like anything he does brings in a ton of viewers.
  24. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 26, 2017 -> 12:12 PM) I've had enough. Send Dunning to A+ already. Ya, at this point it's not doing him any good to be down there. Time to challenge him at least a little bit.
