  1. Time to pull my Brandon Wood avatar down as he's going to be gone now. I'm beginning to wonder if we're going to be able to field a team next year.
  2. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 04:36 PM) WTF It's snowing again. When will this winter end?!?!? What are you talking about? It's 63 degrees with a nice overcast.
  3. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 01:37 PM) My ex-wife. Hahahahaha. Well played.
  4. I went with 82-85. I really can see this team surprising a bit though, I can also see them falling flat on their faces again. It'll be an interesting season.
  5. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 11:35 AM) I didn't go to the hospital until about 13 hours later. Thankfully the scar isn't too noticeable. Did you lose an eye or something? 15 stitches. 12 directly down my forehead and 3 over my eye. Ironically, I did the same thing as you, I just decided it was better to go to sleep at first than to go to the hospital. Even when I woke up, I didn't go right away, then I looked in the mirror and realized it was time for me to go. A few people on this site have seen the picture of me when it first happened, it was pretty brutal looking. EDIT: Oh and might have the most noticeable scar in the history of scars and it's not going away.
  6. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 01:04 AM) Long story short...14 stitches above my left eyebrow, horizontally... I have that beat. For now, I'm just going to say the last 2 months I've been as dumb as anyone could possibly be. Too many stories to tell.

    QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 12:14 PM) How many people involved? 10 on each team.

    QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 01:37 AM) So the good news is that I'm ridiculously drunk and won about 11 games of beer pong in a row. The bad news is that it's only 1:37 and everyone went to bed, wtf? Well I think my drunken grammar is better than heads. And I get to do a keg race on Saturday, that should be fun.

    QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 06:50 PM) Justin's life is spring break. Hey, I got softball class tomorrow! Life's rough.
  11. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 06:59 PM) you gotta be kidding me. You hated staying there over the summer? How is that possible? No lines at the bars, sunset concerts every thursday, endless house bands at Pinch Penny with the occasional big name, walking the wine trail in Anna(or, stumbling the last half of the wine trail), no lines at the bars, afterhours parties every night, Sox games at the Cellar(as well as big buckets of peanuts for 1.50), Saluki baseball games on the hill, no lines at the bars. And on top of that, you can just take a weekend trip to St louis and party on the Landing. You better stay. I will be down there for 5 days and by the 5th day you will have the rest of your summer planned out. Carbondale changes your priorities. Priority 1. Alcohol Priority 2. Women Priority 3. Alcohol Priority 4. Women Priority 5. School Priority 6. Choosing who carries the other guy home It's just not as fun when you're not hanging with your buddies. If you throw the Sox and SIU bball on that priority list somewhere then it's pretty much perfect. Sorry for taking your thread over a bit, tell.
  12. QUOTE(Pants Rowland @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 05:18 PM) I doubt JC reups with the Sox, but KW says a lot of random shizzit with hidden intentions. For all we know, Joe is not ready to go full speed and KW is forcing his hand on an extension. If Joe fails to impress, his market value could go down considerably. Otherwise, if he looks good, his trade value goes up and KW gains certainty he could not resign him. All this is very doubtful speculation, but I do not trust anything KW says on record. Below 0?
  13. I was honestly so excited to see Fields-Quentin-Richar start this year and now it's likely that none of them will. I just don't get this organization at times.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 01:03 PM) Heard some inside info that Ernie Kent is trying to convince Kevin Dillard to go to prep school next year, and then sign with Oregon in 2009. Well he can go f*** himself. Dillard seems excited about coming here, that s*** better not happen.

  16. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 24, 2008 -> 09:49 PM) LMAO, next round on me. Are you staying in C'dale over Summer? Im gonna be down for a wedding May 22nd - 26th, my buddy is getting married. There will be much drinking and debauchery leading up to, through, and afterwards. Big time maybe on this one. I hated staying over the summer last year but a lot of my friends are staying down here now and I'm really tempted to. It'd be hard to explain it to the parents though as I never come home. That being said, I really am leaning towards staying here now. I'll let you know when I'm for sure.

    Well I promised Steve I was going to post in this thread last night, unfortunately I don't remember getting home so that never happened. I'll try again tonight, promise.
  18. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 24, 2008 -> 09:31 PM) that trick only works if you go to the same school. If she has to see you all the time she can put up with you being a jackass. If you call her and you are a jackass, she will hang up and wont answer the phone anymore. You win this round.
  19. Stop being so nice to her and be a jackass. Seriously.
  20. Anyone want to write a 6-8 minute speech about John McCain's military career for me?

    Heads you're such a f***in light weight.
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 24, 2008 -> 09:16 AM) That'll bite them in the ass before this is over. I would agree. IMO they're too talented to not win their region but it'll catch up to them in final four.
  23. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 23, 2008 -> 06:19 PM) It has been a lot of fun to watch these guys the first two rounds. But I'm sure WSU will slow the game down by about 30 points. I think UNC is going to roll to the final if they can get passed WSU(even with Louisville and Kansas still around), but I just don't think it's going to be that easy. I expect UNC to win but I think it's going to be a great game.
  24. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Mar 23, 2008 -> 10:41 PM) I don't know how some players can have D1 talent but not be able to hit free throws-aka the whole Memphis team. Missing ft's is one thing I will NEVER understand.
  25. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Mar 23, 2008 -> 09:46 PM) Well, Bayless is actually generally considered a combo guard, at least at this point in his development. From what I've seen I have a little more faith in him being an effective scoring PG than either Mayo or Gordon, though he has the same turnover problems and forces things too often as well. Russell Westbrook is the only other name that you didn't list. In terms of raw tools he may even be the equal of Rose, he's very quick, is an explosive leaper and has good size. The problem is he's considerably less polished as a PG and doesn't have a particularly good jumper. The smart money would say he can go back and improve his stock by playing the point next year, but even if Collison leaves and he doesn't super-frosh Jrue Holliday could hold back his development anyways. It might not be a bad idea to snag him and keep Hinrich around another year, that way at worst he's a defensive stopper off the bench while he picks up some of the nuances. That should be kind of a last resort though. I kinda doubt they'll trade Tyrus in the off-season. They already had numerous opportunites to deal him when he had much higher value, now they'd probably struggle to get good value for him. I'd imagine they'll keep him and Noah around and hope that they'll both progress, even if there are flaws with that approach. Westbrook is a pretty brutal pg at this point(definitely not his position) but as you said the raw talent is pretty nuts there. Problem is that I'd prefer to not have another shorter sg.
