QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 12:09 AM) That's what the "Nights I'll never remember with the friends I'll never forget" shirt is for. Also, I don't know why Rowand44 is in this thread, he's not even 21, so he obviously has never had a beer in his life.* *And by life I mean in the past 5 hours** **Only like a 50% chance of this being true. You'll be glad to know that this is the first time in a week I haven't been drunk. Monday's are kind of the off night cause everyone has things to do. Back at it tomorrow though.

QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 25, 2008 -> 06:53 PM) Tyrone Green sucks. Nobody on SIU is close to being Mullins if you are picking a Saluki of the year, Green has actually been fantastic as of late. But ya, Mullins is by far and away the mvp of this team, it's not even close. -
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 25, 2008 -> 12:44 PM) I think they are still very underrated, even considering they were a game away from going to the World Series last year. Agreed.

QUOTE(kjshoe04 @ Feb 25, 2008 -> 10:45 AM) As am I. It looks like the ISU vs. SIU game on March 1 could be the valley game of the year. Plus, I think those two teams will be the teams to beat in the Conference Tourney. I believe that both teams are better than Drake but the Valley refs do not favor the style of basketball that they play, by calling almost any contact a foul. Where as say Drake gets all the calls because they are not as athletic or physical and rely on the 3 too much. I don't like ISU's chance against the Salukis in Carbondale. But, Go Birds. A lot depends on what happens with this Ruffin situation but I'm starting to like our chances, though this team will really show how far they've come tomorrow. Also, ISU is directly on the bubble and all the sudden, so are we, so that should make the game on Saturday even more exciting. It's absolutely crazy but we've went from completely dead to having an outside shot at an at large. If we win our next 4(not expecting but just playing the what if game) and lose in the championship game in the Lou, we might just sneak in. Crazyness. -
I kinda hope they hang around all season just so people freak out. Ya, I said it. Sue me.

Illinois State takes down Wright State and improves the Valley to 8-2 in the bracketbusters this year. Not bad. And now the real fun starts for this league. The teams fighting for 2-3-4-5 in the conference standings all play 2 other of those teams this week to conclude the season. Looking forward to it. -
QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 24, 2008 -> 05:47 PM) This thread is too wordy. Some of it may have to do with where people go. Carbondale, there is nothing else to do. There are bars galore. Other alum here would agree. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 24, 2008 -> 05:55 PM) I agree with the Bar part, but I have to disagree on things for people to do. I know a ton of things to do in and around carbondale. It just so happens that alcohol is part of many of the other things to do. Haha, we're awesome.

I just don't get what the problem is, beastly. Honestly, what did you expect when going away to school? If you like gaming and don't want to drink, then good for you, more power to you but others want to live their lives differently and not everyone is a moron when they drink. These last few years have easily been the best of my life and I'd be lying if I said that alcohol/partying didn't have something to do with that.

This is Mark's team, he deserves it.

Really wish I didn't have to miss the Tenn-Memphis game, sounded like a fun one. Congrats to Tenn, I know Evan will hate this but I still think Memphis is the better team. Changing the subject but it's really hard to not get excited about SIU, we have just pounded our opponents the last two games and this program never does that, even when the teams are great. I know this group will punch me in the gut again but right now, I couldn't be happier with what I see. Tuesday will be a huge tell as even without Ruffin, it's going to be hard to win in Peoria. And as down as the league is(and it is no where near as good as it's been the last two years), the valley still dominated the bracketbuster games today. So that's nice to see. -

Daniel Ruffin has been arrested and charged with battery. Sad to see but this certainly helps our chances at not only the number 2 seed in the Lou but winning the whole thing as well. -
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 21, 2008 -> 06:34 PM) Once you get to high school, that s*** doesn't happen anymore. And another one today. The University had a huge backlash cause of last week, cause they opened back up the campus WAY too early. You saw what happened to me, the ice was absolutely awful, by far the worst I've ever seen. It hasn't been that bad this time but the University would have got absolutely torn apart by some people if they kept campus open after last week.
-
I didn't get to see the game but that box score sure looks nice.
-
2nd time in a week and a half that we've had an "ice" day and got off school. Good times.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 21, 2008 -> 06:47 AM) I know, its night and day. The reason I think the Salukis have such a good shot at Arch Madness is because of their home court advantage. Yup, it'll be nice to have the most fans there. As I told you before I really think it'll be us or Bradley with a lean towards BU right now. Can't count CU out either as Altman has pretty much owned that tournament but I just don't think they'll pull it off. I really, really don't think it's going to be Drake though, their style of play isn't exactly ideal for winning 3 games in 3 days. Anyways, I'm very interested to see how we play on Tuesday at BU(obviously we have Nevada first but it's at home). I already have it down as a L but if we do win, we might actually be turning that corner. But this team has let me down way too much, so I'm expecting another one. -
QUOTE(SoxAce @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 10:26 PM) I feel great about him THIS year. I'm a huge fan of Danks and I even have expectations for him this season. To the few Danks fans here. Define fan? Cause I like Danks and I think he can eventually be semi successful but right now between him, JC and Floyd I just think there is such a high chance for failure.

NBA to hold outdoor game in preseason

QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 07:51 PM) , the wind would be merely a nuisance IMO. Nah, any wind at all COMPLETELY changes a shot, doesn't matter how much there is. It'd definitely be more than a nuisance. I'm not pissed by this or anything since it is a preseason game but it's a dumb idea imo. -
As much as these two scare the hell out of me this season, I really am excited to see how much/if they improved. Can't wait for the games to start.

We're honestly like a top 20 team at home and a bottom 200 team on the road. It's absolutely ridiculous. -

QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 02:46 PM) Bradley is a VERY dangerous team with Daniel Ruffin. That guy is a machine, and he makes that whole team go! Yeup. They're the favorites in St. Louis imo. -
72 and 10 wont ever fall, at least not in my life time. That's the best basketball team you will ever see.

Playing basketball outside is a dumb idea, preseason or not.
