  1. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Dec 3, 2007 -> 10:59 AM) Hank Steinbrenner: And if the Yankees are to be a part of trade talks, "now" means by Monday, according to Steinbrenner, who said: "The Twins are aware of it, that I'm not going to wait much longer. And the truth of the matter is, they don't want to be stuck with only one team to deal with. If they're stuck with just Boston, they're going to get a lot less. I'm not going to be played. This is not a game. This is serious business. I'm not going to be played, us against the Red Sox. That's not going to happen." Ya, and ARod will never be a Yankee again either.
  2. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Dec 2, 2007 -> 08:59 PM) I am a whitesox fan. I hope that every marquee player on every AL Central team moves on to the National League. Hopefully CC finds his way to the NL next year as well. Thats a whole lot of guaranteed losses out of our season right there. Ya, that.
  3. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Dec 2, 2007 -> 08:18 PM) I would believe the jewish people on the board, man are you f***in that stupid. I'm not offended.
  4. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Dec 1, 2007 -> 08:16 PM) I got accepted to SIU! We don't want you. Good stuff, can you hit a 3?
  5. I really don't think Illinois will get blown out but I've been god awful at predicting anything this season. Congrats to the Illini though, good stuff. Feel bad for Mizzou, they definitely should be in a bcs game.
  6. Well that's our 4th loss at home in like the last 7 years, so no matter what, that shows how good IU is, to come into Carbondale and beat the crap out of us. IU is a really, really good team and much better than us at the moment. I haven't looked at the box score but when you go 1 for 14 or 15 or whatever from 3, you're not going to win many games, I don't care who you are playing. Shaw and Bone both had some really good looks and couldn't hit crap, they're both in horrible shooting slumps at the moment. As of now, if Shaw and Bone are making shots then we're a pretty good team but if they aren't, we're pretty awful. Besides the horrific shooting, one of the more frusterating things to me last night was the way coach Lowery handled his rotations. I love CLo and he's a terrific coach but sometimes you need to change some things up. Brandon Wood and Carlton Fay are two of our more talented offensive players and two of our best shooters. They needed to play, especially Wood. I'm not sure what the hell Brandon has done in practice or what not but when he's played in games, he's been terrific. It would have been nice to have arguably our best 3 point shooter out there against a zone when nobody on the court could hit a jump shot to save their life. I'm pissed off about these guys right now but there will be better days ahead for this team, I'm sure of it.
  7. QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 29, 2007 -> 02:28 PM) I called yesterday, left a voicemail. I just got offered and accepted. HOORAY NOT LIVING ON THE STREETS AFTER COLLEGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :headbang Boo. Everyone is growing up so fast. Seriously though, congrats Steve, you can treat me to a lot of Sox games this season now.
  8. The Frank-Griffey cover is badass. It's also hard to beat the Rowand picture that Kalapse posted, that was the first picture I thought of when I got into this thread.
  9. Well, huge game tomorrow. We kind of need to win this one now after the beat down on Sunday. That game was absolutely pathetic but it was just one of those days, something the team needs to let go(took me 5 days but I'm almost over it). No one is going to shoot 65 percent against us again and we're not going to shoot 32 percent again, that game was just nuts. Give credit to USC and Tim Floyd though, Floyd had a great game plan and basically used Tyrone Green against us as they left him wide open and just double teamed Randal every time he touched the ball. Anyways, hopefully we're ready to go and hopefully Clemmons is back as we missed him a ton on Sunday.
  10. QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 25, 2007 -> 07:17 PM) Didn't realize Illinois was that high in BCS rankings. Wouldn't matter, don't see Michigan or Illinois beating the Pac 10 champ. There's a possibility that the Pac 10 winner could be UCLA.
  11. Coolness. Trying to follow the Hawks a bit but I'm pretty hockey retarded at the moment.
  12. Ok, sorry for the moronic question here but I'm new to the Hockey scoring system. Do the Hawks get a point for that? I'd assume they do but not sure.
  13. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 24, 2007 -> 11:37 PM) I've been impressed by Les as a coach, and if he wasn't an alum, you think he'd get hired away in the near future. It still pains me to see the guy I really wanted, Turgeon, get off to a hot start at aTm. I do think UNI is headed back into mediocrity, though. We'll see how Les does this year, some BU fans like him and some don't(but I guess for the most part it's like that with a lot of fan bases and coaches). Bird man certainly inherited a nice team there at A&M, he was pretty much thought of as a god by Wichita State fans before he bolted, now he's the devil. Agreed on UNI.
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 24, 2007 -> 11:31 PM) Ahem. Stormin' Mormons. So, Row, you follow the MVC. Is Bradley supposed to be any good this year or should we be ashamed of that loss. I'm not trying to be a smartass, but I know Crouch and Ruffin are good. I'd like to think we just tripped up with a young team on the road, plus a Minnesota team that just has a lot of seniors and a good coach. I apologize. I shall never F that up again. Bradley was picked 2nd in the Valley but they have the same exact problems as they did last season. They have no inside game and their defense is spotty. Ruffin and Crouch are one of the best backcourts in the nation but they can only do so much. If I had to guess I'd say they'll finish somewhere around the middle of the league. IMO the league with be dominated by SIU and CU, again.
  15. Fun game for the final in Vegas. UNC is going to pull it out. Very nice W for the TarHeels with out Lawson for pretty much the whole game against a pretty good Mormon team.
  16. I think Mizzou will take down OU and I certainly hope so. I'd LOVE to see a Mizzou-WVU national championship game(obviously WVU has to get through Pitt as well).
  17. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Nov 24, 2007 -> 09:58 PM) Indiana has a terrible shooting night and gets pounded by Xavier 80-65. Xavier was impressive, pounding the offensive glass and clogging the middle. IU was 1-13 for 3-pointers late in the game, not sure where exactly they ended up. Gordon had 18 points, 12-12 from the FT line. IU wasn't just bad from 3-land, they had mid-range jumpers rim out consistently and missed bunnies in the lane (in heavy traffic mostly). But give Xavier credit, they made it difficult and they played well offensively, pounding it inside and crashing the boards, taking advantage of IU's foul troubles. On to GA Tech in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge Tuesday night! Just got back from the game. IU as you said just had a miserable shooting night, nothing would fall. The defense and rebounding were terrible by IU though, that's what they really need to work on. You're going to have shooting nights like that every now and than but defense and rebounding should be a constant. Xavier is a really good team though and they were just the much better team out there tonight.

    QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 24, 2007 -> 04:06 PM) A diet mountain dew. You get 50 percent off?
  19. Lots of stuff going on: FSU did finish off Florida. BYU takes down Louisville in Vegas IlSU hung with IU all the way through but IU pulls away late in the 2nd half Tenn and WVU in a battle UCLA and Washington State both being played tough later in the first half right now.
