  1. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Mar 29, 2017 -> 04:20 PM) Yep. And, if I remember right, the Bulls had a shortage of roster spots at that time. I can see the mindset that led to the Bulls making that pick. It obviously backfired terribly, but I get why it happened. Ya, good call on that too. I was never a fan of the trade and never wanted Doug but I at least understood their thought process.
  2. QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Mar 29, 2017 -> 03:06 PM) I don't see that, at least for now. But agreed in principle that the dude could score, and efficiently. Him and Butler would have been a good combo. Question is I had is would we still have selected those two had we not decided to trade with Denver? Did Denver scouts see something in those guys or was it our scouts? I think it's as simple as they needed a shooter and just fell in love with the idea of McDermott despite the concerns with him.
  3. As long as I can binge drink on Bud instead of Miller I'm a happy Rowand.
  4. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 03:08 PM) It was amazing how bad of a coach that Romar was at UW. Not shocked at all they moved on, in fact I applaud them for knowing that no matter the talent, Romar was not going to get the job done. Ya, it was time to get rid of Romar. Might hurt them for a year but sometimes you have to do that for long term gain.
  5. bmags, you a fan of Keatts?
  6. The IU turnover has been higher than UCLA in recent memory.
  7. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 01:52 PM) It'd be unbearable, the entire broadcast would just be Hawk gushing over AJ and what an incredible player he was. Ha fair point.
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 01:49 PM) Maybe they will, but I imagine they would wait until Hawk is gone. I don't think the two of them would mesh very well. Hawk loves AJ, he'd probably bring some life to Hawk if they teamed up for a little while.

    May is the type of guy where you need to figure out what you have in him during a year like this. Let him get some bats and see if you actually have something there because who knows. If he sucks then at least you know and he can 'help' you lose some games, if he's better than expected then hey maybe we have an outfielder going forward.
  10. QUOTE (brett05 @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 07:59 AM) No Seth Beer? Wrong draft.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 07:10 AM) So you would have cut him, but you are annoyed that the Sox traded him for cash considerations? lol exactly. Anywho as others have said, good for May. I'm excited to see him play.
  12. QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 27, 2017 -> 04:27 PM) Here is a thought, just slap me hard in the face once you are done reading, is it possible the Bears could actually trade for Brady with the number 3 and then some? The Pats have always been proactive and it would immediately legitimize the Bears team. I know, slap me. shipps
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 27, 2017 -> 04:13 PM) But the new stadium isn't supposed to be ready until the 2020 season. I haven't read up on this at all yet today but I had a buddy tell me that they might try and make the UNLV stadium NFL ready and that could be good to go by 2019?
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 27, 2017 -> 03:10 PM) First pitch a week from now. Quintana, right? Yes.
  15. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Mar 26, 2017 -> 06:08 PM) Annnnnnnnnnnnd...East champs. Congrats!
  16. Ya Archie is so much better than Alford in my mind. Great hire.
  17. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Mar 25, 2017 -> 11:02 AM) So one of Florida, Xavier, Gonzaga, or South Carolina will be in the championship game. Xavier, Gonzaga, and South Carolina have never made the Final 4 Well Gonzaga by literally everything you can look at is pretty great so not sure what the point is here. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Mar 25, 2017 -> 11:02 AM) To be fair the Wisconsin shot to tie it was lucky too Right. There were crazy shots everywhere at the end of the game, I'm not really sure who 'deserved' to win the game but Florida made the last one so here we are.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 25, 2017 -> 10:12 AM) And this is the exact downside to "blow it up". If it fails, we are talking years more of problems. True, we could have just kept going down the road of the last decade of excellence. Tons of downside here.
  19. I don't worry about his numbers but his velocity is something to worry about. That said, lets see what happens when he's in Charlotte, maybe he's just been trying to work on some things in the spring. It's obviously not time to panic with him but I think it's fair to at least wonder what's going on with his fastball.
  20. That game was freakin bonkers.
  21. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 24, 2017 -> 08:05 AM) It's really all about the Options situation with Davidson not having any and Delmonico having them. It's that simple. But if Davidson flops, Delmonico probably comes up (outside chance it could be Hayes instead). Here's a prospect profile on Delmonico by the way, for those who don't know some of the strange back story with him. Delmonico's defense doesn't have to be above average, but he's got to be at least MLB-playable. And if he can do that at 1B, 3B and corner OF, he suddenly becomes appealing as a utility player (and DH) you can plug in 5 days a week with some offensive potential. He's a guy that makes sense to start in the minors anyways to at least try him at a corner of spot for a while. Like I said before, who knows with this guy but I'm definitely intrigued.
  22. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Mar 24, 2017 -> 07:40 AM) Give him reps in LF and see how he responds. No harm in trying. Definitely.
  23. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 23, 2017 -> 10:44 PM) Small sample size today, but he passed the eye test in-person today. Good at bats and he had quick hands on that HR (crushed it). The AB where he raked that double was nice. If he could play defense, we'd be on to something. I don't know if he'll hit good enough to be a DH. First time I've seen him swing a bat but his actual swing is gorgeous. I'm not going to say he's going to be a major league regular but I'm intrigued.
  24. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 23, 2017 -> 11:55 PM) Massive choke job by Arizona. Just absolutely horrendous basketball down the stretch of that game. They didn't have a single good possession in the last 3 minutes of the game. Trier was phenomenal most of the 2nd half but went into hero ball mode down the stretch. Anywho...fun school match up in the e8 here, hoping the Zags break through.
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 23, 2017 -> 04:29 PM) Sounds like back to the last five years. You're just being intentionally hard headed.
