  1. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 07:03 PM) take a deep breath... lets see what happense when they aren't playing the NL central. I'm not losing sleep over them yet but that's a very, very good team and I was just making a point that they are a much different team now compared to when they were getting their asses kicked by the al central.
  2. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 06:22 PM) Is it possible at one of these sites to have a private game with only SoxTalk members? Playing for fun rather than real money would be cool with me. We did it a few summers ago. I forgot which site it was but I'd be interested in playing again, it was a fun time.
  3. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 06:15 PM) OJ Mayo, #1 recruit in 07 class and most highly touted guard since Lebron told USC coaches and players that he is committing to them. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2510229 I am just happy that he didn't join Huggins at K-State. Very interesting.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 05:03 PM) The twins cant beat the teams in their own division. That was also before they moved Liriano into the rotation, called Kubel up, got rid of Castro and Batista. This is a far different Twins team now than the one that got lit up by their al central foes.
  5. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) Wait, is the championship on right now? No. Not sure what day it is, but it's not today.
  6. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 03:56 PM) McCarthy is now in the same spot Cotts found himself in last year. The Sox might very well have to two of them in mind for starting roles in a few years. Maybe sooner. The Sox management said they wanted to satrt Cotts off slowly and let him work into the starting role when it became available. It's a pretty big difference though. Brandon actually has three pitches and has proven he can at least be a solid starter in this league. Neal on the other hand, has a good fastball and a meh slider and has just dominated in the bullpen. Bmac is going to be in the rotation come next year, Cotts on the other hand is going to be in the pen until he moves on to another team(which hopefully doesn't happen for a long, long time).
  7. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 03:29 PM) Just wondering, who is everyone voting for in the NL? I'm not voting for anyone.
  8. Half way through the season, thought I'd read through the beginning of this thread a little bit. Good times.
  9. Liriano is leading the way so far. Keep voting people.
  10. QUOTE(RX Bandits @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 02:19 AM) which yankees team went 11-1 in the playoffs? I forget. I would need a good explination why a team goes 11-1 and gets lucky. Did anyone see the '07 cubs and think that ESPN thought the 2007 cubs would be good or something for half a second like i did? And why are the '95 braves on this list. they only won 90 games (on this list that is not that many) 99 yanks I believe. It is pretty odd how they left off the 05 sox. Wire to wire plus 11 and 1 in the playoffs deserves a little respect.
  11. 7-2 Royals. To the 9th we go with KC having a 5 run lead. Cmon Royals, you can do it. Twins Lose. What a great day. :headbang
  12. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 4, 2006 -> 07:31 PM) You can be the real deal and still hit a wall. The sudden increase in innings pitched can kill a young pitcher's arm, just ask Mark Prior. Verlander is most definately on pace for a dead arm period or atleast a lapse in production due to the huge increase in innings from last year to this year. Right. Verlander is one hell of a pitcher and is going to give us fits for years to come. That being said, he's never pitched over 130 innings and at some point in the 2nd half I do expect some sort of dead arm period.
  13. QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 4, 2006 -> 06:16 PM) 2 out in the 9th, runner on second for Detroit. Magglio is up. Hold 'em Street! He gawn!
