QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 11:22 AM) Ok, I don't know how the Hell, I'm pulling this off, but it's currently 12:20 local time, I'm in the middle of an internet Cafe in the city of Korla, China, i have 4 large chinese Beers in me, and I've actually got Gameday open for Jose shooting for his 10th win, and I'm posting in the game thread. This is damn amazing. Kick some ass Jose! How's the trip?

The Knicks made a good pick. -
QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 07:10 PM) Cutters don't break as much as the 97 MPH pitch Jenks threw. There's no way it wasn't a slider. The gun MAY have been off, but it was a slider. The gun was quick but Jas is right, the first pitch he threw was a cutter when Morgan started to talk about it but the 2nd one, was a slider.

QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 09:04 PM) I think you're right Rowand44--offensively he's streaky, but he's playing tremendous defense again, and that makes him worth trotting out there even during his cold streaks. He's great at going to his left and right, has a cannon, and is excellent at turning the DP--I still like having him at SS over Cintron--not that you suggested that. Oh, I'm with you 100 percent. I can live with two defensive studs at the bottom of the order who might be streaky or have some growing pains. I like Alex a lot but as a bench player, not an everyday player.

QUOTE(illinilaw08 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 09:02 PM) Agree mostly. I'm not thrilled with the Thomas pick, but Aldridge has always seemed soft to me and Thomas definitely plays with energy. Also, Chad Ford has been right on about most things he has said today, and according to him, the hot rumor among GMs has the Bulls dealing for KG. The Thomas pick could be a prelude to that. Right. I've heard that as well and that's why I should hold out on my disappointment cause I'd be thrilled with KG. I dislike Thomas so much though, so I'm hoping Mr. Ford is right. -
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 08:57 PM) Give Thornton the 9th tomorrow night if need be. Let Bobby rest it up. I'll agree with that.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 08:55 PM) Because offense is the only thing that counts. But anyway, Balkman won't be anything more than a role-player(which is fine for this draft). He's one of the best defenders, if not the best, defenders in the draft. He'll be able to come off the bench and shut down pretty much anyone else at the SF position, which isn't all too common in the NBA these days. Marcus Williams turns the ball way too much to be a point guard in the NBA and the only thing he'll steal will be lap-tops(Betcha never heard that one before ). I wouldn't take this guy anywhere in the first round. He did turn the ball over too much for my liking as well but I love how he controls a game. He also just has such a beautiful and soft touch, and he's easily the best passer in this draft. He'll be a great pg, no doubt in my mind. -

Put me down as loving Memphis' draft. -
QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 08:53 PM) Uribe is proving his value, it's about time. I'm a big fan of his, and was hoping for some more consitency, 'guess I'll have to settle for these hot streaks. You're never going to get consistancy out of Juan, this is exactly the type of player he is.

The Nets just got the steal of the draft. -
Ugly but who cares. The bullpen continues to be awesome. Bobby needs a day off or two, he's pitched in 6 of 7 games now. And great clutch hitting by Ooooooooribe.

Boo, Arod goes walkoff for the Yanks when they were trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the 11th.

Not a big deal for Kenny to be traveling with the team. Anyways, if Kenny pulls another deal for a reliever I think it'll be closer to July 31st. I think we'll wait and see how Cliff does when he comes back and if he looks even decent, I don't necessarily think you'll see Kenny make another trade for a reliever.

QUOTE(JackTalkThai @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 02:12 PM) Because Lidge's dominant days of yesteryear are just a single HGH injection away. This really doesn't make any sense to me. His stuff is still completely there his head isn't anymore though. If he just completely lost his great stuff then I guess you could accuse him but I don't see how that makes any sense in his case.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 03:34 AM) Roy will be the best player out of this draft in his rookie season, but long - term someone like Gay or Thomas will probably be better IMHO. Gay is a freak but I don't think he has the desire to be a great player and I don't even want to get in to everything I dislike about Thomas but lets just say I don't think highly of him. -
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 03:14 AM) Navarro got injured, Martin took over, did better than expected, so the Dodgers couldn't really demote Martin. TB did very well here. Hendrickson's track record over the past few seasons not including this one is very average to say the least. I think both teams did pretty solid in this deal. The Drays got a nice young catcher and Seo isn't horrible(though he's been bad this year). I like what the Dodgers did too though. They might have overpaid a bit but Hendrickson is having a pretty solid season and with that division being wide open and L.A. really needing a starter this could put them over the top for now.
