QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ May 10, 2006 -> 02:30 PM) Twins -Rangers tied at 1 in the bottom of 5 -- I have a Sox question... why, when Conteras went on the DL, didnt you slide over McCarthy to the rotation. I heard on the radio that you guys called up a knuckleballer No need to mess around with Brandon for one or two starts and then throw him back in the bullpen. He's also too valuable to our pen to put him in the rotation right now.

2006 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 10, 2006 -> 01:39 PM) For whatever reason they always black out Cardinals games in Chicago, it makes no f***ing sense and just proves once again that ESPN really can't do anything right. It f***in sucks cause they black out Sox games here in Carbondale which makes no f***in sense either. ESPN is just retarded and horrible.

Sox vs Angels Game Thread
I think I'm going to have my mom record this game just because I really want to see Chuck pitch. Hopefully that thing will be dancing all over the place. What's the over/under on passed balls for AJ tonight?

Hermanson to resume throwing
QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:30 AM) If he can get people out and wants to do it, then yes. If he can't be effective, I'd love to have him around the team because he's a real solid guy, but don't put him out there in that case. Right, what I meant was with his back hurting all the time could he still be effective...I'm not so sure. Definitely agree here.

Hermanson to resume throwing
QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 10, 2006 -> 10:20 AM) My take is that there will always be pain and discomfort and he may be thinking, I can do this for three months with pain killers and what not but not for a whole season. The problem with that is he was considerably worse once his back got messed up last year. I have no doubt Dustin can tough it out if need be but would that really be beneficial to the team?

If Crede keeps this up...
QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:20 AM) Sometimes I think Crede sort of has a cult following around here. Only sometimes? I'm hoping we can keep Joe around for a while and I have faith in Joe to stay true to his words, however I just don't trust Boras and until a deal gets done I won't be overly confident.

Tonight's Catcher
I say we put Crede out there to catch, he's the only one would can handle a knuckleballer.

Hermanson to resume throwing
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 10, 2006 -> 09:29 AM) Hopefully this is our own little mini trade deadline type pickup. Getting Hermanson back in August would be spectacular. It really would be. I'm not getting my hopes up though, I really believe Dustin is done. God, I hope I'm wrong.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 10, 2006 -> 02:27 AM) you never trade lefties for nothing. bynum is just a fast runner, he cant field, or hit. Lefty or not, he's really not good at all. I'm with Keith and Ace on this one.

Charlie Haeger to likely start Wednesday
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 8, 2006 -> 07:23 PM) BTW, Haeger couldn't ask for better conditions here. He's facing an Anahiem lineup which currently ranks 12th in the AL in runs scored. He's also pitching at home, which could work both ways -- I list it as a positive because he'll have 25K behind him, rather than in a tough environment on the road. (Get well soon, Conde!) Not to mention the Angels are last in baseball in walks which should be very nice for a knuckleballer.

Well if Jose has any sort of issue, give him a start off, period. He's too damn good to rush him back and risk any sort of long term risk for one game. Putting Bmac in the rotation for one game would just be dumb imo. So if Jose does indeed have some issues, calling Chuck up would be the best way to go imo.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 8, 2006 -> 03:43 PM) From what I've gathered, Freddy Garcia has been traded for Jose Guillen and Liotta is on his way to replace Freddy in the rotation. Hmm, I got a feeling that's not true.
