Who cares if it's normal or not? I don't care if someone is or not, but I don't get why they have to flaunt it when they are. Gay pride flags, stickers, parades and the Gay Games? What, are homosexuals banned from the Olympics? It's almost as they are craving attention, and don't tell me they do it because they are discrimnated against. The ones I have encountered are hypocrites who are discriminatory of people who don't dress a way that they like. I have heard some gay people compare gay pride groups to the NAACP where I almost punched them in the face. Gay people don't go through half of what blacks did, and blacks, and a thing like skin color that can't be changed is what used to hurt them. No one will ask you if you are gay on a job interview or college application. I don't care about gay people, but I don't see why everyone has to come out and say "WE SUPPORT YOU!", just live your life with whoever you want and live life like the rest of us if you don't want controversy. They sure love the benefits the government gives them that they take advantage of, but then crap all over the current adminstration with every chance possible, that bothers me. There is nothing stopping you from moving to Canada where gay marriage is legal. [/rant]

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) Fireworks, I would challenge the assertion that there are significantly more lefties or redheads than homosexuals in the general population, even we go with the lower estimates. \ If you went by Rick Morrisey's mindset, you'd be calling all lefties and/or redheads homosexuals

It seems in the past we've done better at NY and BOS compared to when they come to the CHI. Should be interesting, it's cool when the players get recognition as Rowand did in NY, but all these games mean more to NY, Minny, and BOS standings wise than they do to us, more of a tuneup for us, so I don't think our team should have pressure and that should end up helping us. The main things for me to look out for will be the offense. I have been one to excuse them by saying we've run into good pitching when they don't do well, but the playoffs means your facing a staff's best pitchers and you're going to run into good pitching. I won't mind if we have a SP disaster since we know our SP is consistent/dominant enough for the long run and that bad starts will come no matter who you are every once in a while. Should be fun, but we will be going through a stretch of stupid and annoying fans this week! Which idiot is going to jump off the Monster and bet that Manny can hold him?

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 03:56 PM) :headshake Now we know who made this post: http://boards.yesnetwork.com/forums/index....showtopic=56532 I actually like ARod though, it's not his fault people want to pay so much for him, he's damn good! He had all good things to say about us and the stadium during the HR Derby, and I'm sure it was a reporter who asked how it was pronounced on purpose to show that Rowand is not well known

My conclusion after my posts and a day to digest on this. The media hates the Sox and still can not being themselves to admit how good they are, so they use this story, spread it nationally, and have this be the top story after taking 2 out of 3 in NY. I'm offended when Dusty Baker says blacks can take heat more than I can, but it can't work that way. Lowell does the hidden ball trick in a lopsided game and the nation claims him a genius, Uribe successfully dekes Derek Lee to the point where it saves a run and Juan Uribe is now bush league and one of the dirtiest players in baseball. The media and Chicago hate the White Sox and WE WILL STICK IT UP ALL THEIR ASSES COME OCTOBER (how about that for homosexual connotations Morrisey)

Breaking News: TO has an irregular bowel movement. No clarification if this is correlated with Andy Reid or Ricky Williams. Mike Golic to break it down after the break. Seriously, watching this interview during halftime of this preseason game makes me feel like I'm in kindergarden. "He told me to shut up first so I said shut up back!"

Talk about idiots on ATH Anyways, as much as the gay community is always craving for attention, words like 'f**' or 'queer' have other meanings, such as 'loser' in today's society, especially for friends and teens. I can see how a homosexual would be offended by that, but A. When I say it jokingly to my friends or as it was used in this case, I don't even think homosexuals, it's just words that have had replaced meanings. Kind of like when you say 'that's sick' with positive connotations, not the best example, but the closest I can think of. But the guy is Ozzie's friend, so the connotations, if bad, are obviously playful. It's not like Magglio was in the crowd and he said "Get out of here you homosexual". B. I know this is a stretch, but What if the guy was a homosexual and/or a child molester? Then you can't be offended This is bs though, like these reporters have never been in a locker room. Do you mean to tell me no one has ever used these words without yelling 'off the record!' first. Then why did you print it? The friend took no offense, he was talking to his friend, it sounds like Morrisey should mind his own business and STFU.

It's soooo annoying, especially when watching ESPNEWS, last night they changed the little breaking new box to 3 different things in 5 minutes about TO, using variations of quotes. No one outside of Philadelphia cares, and it's something blown way out of proportion from ESPN, like everything else they talk about east coast related. Also, I thought they did the same with the KNBR story about the SF radio guy. There were several days where the ESPNEWS box said "SF Giant radio broadcaster uses racist remark", you'd think Jon Miller said the 'N' word. And I thought it was sick the way they handled it, by talking about it nonstop and dedicating shows (On Outside the Lines, they had Felipe on and he said he now refers to the radio guy as a "messanger of Satan", WTF?) until the guy got fired. Jeff Dickerson's comment on Latroy Hawkins was worse than the 'Carribean' comment, which I hardly found to be racist, maybe stupid, but a bit of a stretch to call it racist imo, but it sounds like Felipe wanted other attention other than having a suckass team and got it. I don't get how a homosexual would be offended, the word is now a forbidden fruit? You have to be one to use it? Teens and friends in general use these terms with no thought of the gay community. Morrisey would understand if he had friends
-
Hey, is your refrigerator running? Because if it is, it probably runs just like you....very homosexually
-
That is lame, Morrisey is a loser, only someone without friends wouldn't know that everyone does it in fun, and this case sounds like he should've minded his own business, if the friend was offended, he would've done something about it.
-
The ESPNEWS ticker was just saying Edwards did sign now (around 10 pm) but it's gone now I know it's not really hold out since there's no contract in the first place, but you haven't proven crap, and now you're not even going to be starting, get in camp! I wanted Mike Williams

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 09:17 PM) It is funny how it takes a series in Yankee Stadium to establish what many of us have been saying all year. Aaron Rowand is one of the best defensive CFs in all of baseball, welcome to the bandwagon YES network. I know right, it's so sad that the national media parks in NY, especially when the teams there aren't as good as the opposition this year. Arow was amazing, but we've all known this, though he improves all the time, he even made 'web gems' his rookie year to earn his 'balls to walls/old school' rep. Also, the game saving catch in San Diego still makes me tingle

QUOTE(That funky motion @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 07:58 PM) Like I said in the game thread. The Yanks will be calling kenny in the off season to make him a Yankmee. Didn't take long: http://forums.nyyfans.com/showthread.php?t=87498 http://boards.yesnetwork.com/forums/index....showtopic=56474 And then there's just the criminally stupid (as if the comments in those above didn't show it) http://boards.yesnetwork.com/forums/index....showtopic=56532

Someone watching on YES told me the camera shook when it happened, so he either hit camera or the camera is connected to the net in some way. I guess he could win a lawsuit if he said he fell, but if they witnesses of him that heard him say he was 'going to test the net' like the article says. If he would've fallen on someone else, I suppose the other guy could sue, but I'm not a law expert EDIT: Also, I don't think they'll change it since it also happened in 2000. The article I just read says he faces up to a year in jail

Congrats, just wondering, what year in college are you in?

Yes! I had a feeling Juan would come up big, he had to make up for a crappy game, and thank goodness for Torre putting Bernie in CF, it's already helped us with our first run... AHHHHHHHHHHH, MY VIDEO JUST BLACKED OUT -

Widger, Uribe, Pods, Torre is s***ting his pants[/code] Hopefully Juan and Pods can get over the 'Being owned by Smalls' symptoms, but it doesn't help when Rivera is still on the mound... -

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 01:28 PM) dont make it easy the key to Mariano is fouling of several, then he makes a mistake, dont try to hit him hard right away. Having 2 strikes off Rivera is also a tough stop to be in there however, and you might not even be able to capitalize a mistake -

They better come out with it or Bud's ass will be made grass by Congress. We deserve to know! Is the 50 all Major League players? That scares me a tad for our teams sake (if I'd pick someone from our team, I'd say Uribe, he's built). I'd like to read the article as well, I heard there are a couple names bigger than Palmeiro on the list -

They are still reading some (the question of which intro music they'd have) so it must be carried over from CSN. I'm kind of sick of the emails, maybe it's a good time filler, but they read too many when they are interactive IMO
