Sleeper Prospect
Nice work there, MSF......... time to go back to prospect school! lol

Thanks for the Support..
Brandon is in Birmingham, not Winston-Salem. The Warthogs will have to go back-to-back without him!

9/1 Games...
I think you are nuts...... lol A player never wants anything other than their best outing ever. He took the loss. There is no "relief" in pitching bad and losing.

Knights Make Several Roster Moves
It's only for 5 days..... The moves were made to strengthen or not hurt Birmingham or Winston-Salem because they are in the playoffs.
-
Roger Bossard honor
That's actually not new..... He was scheduled to do it this past December, but something made Boston put it off for a year. Bossard spends the offseason building fields all over. He is considered one of, if not the best in that regard.

Barons rotation next season?
touche........ I laughed hard when I saw that.

BMacs combined numbers
McCarthy won't start on the 6th. A playoff rotation has not yet been set, but expect him to go in Game 1 or 2 in Mobile on the 8th or 9th. Mobile features a powerful lineup where most of their power comes from the right side. Mobile is a much better hitter's park so I would guess they will go with Villacis and McCarthy down there to try and neutralize that power. They'll probably save the lefties for Games 3-5 at the Hoover Met. He may see a little action out of the bullpen in Montgomery this weekend as they set the rotation. Chattanooga has a good combination of speed and power. A good mix of younger prospects (Encarnacion) and vets. They pitch very well - last night was the first game out of 6 this year that the Barons scored more than 2 runs against them - and just play very well as a team.

8/31 Games
Damn you are good..... I hadn't even heard that one. I thought he was just still nursing the foot and the lost weight from the virus he had a couple weeks ago. And yes, it was former Sox farmhand Jake Meyer throwing against us last night. He had been in Mexico playing all year.

My 2004 Callups
Hate to ask it this way, but do you have a clue about how rosters and callups work? Whether deserving or not, your list is not even possible, much less realistic.

8/31 Games
three actually...... I wouldn't worry about him... .............. long term.

Barons rotation next season?
Not sure about Honel and Wing, but I do know that Malone has already been on the 40-man and back off, clearing waivers in the process.
-
BMacs combined numbers
I can't wait to see how he does Wednesday night against Chattanooga, a veteran hitting team that happens to be 45-19 in the second half this year.

Kelly Wunsch comment
You don't think if the Sox felt he could get out Major League hitters he would be up there? Hell yeah he would........

Barons rotation next season?
It was just Tommy John surgery....... whether he will ever make it back to the level that gained him top prospect status he once had is questionable...... but he is working hard in rehab right now, that much I know.

Barons Also Agree to a 2 Yr Extension
They almost did 6 years ago.......

Esteban Loaiza
I'll throw my two cents in again on Beltre........ Beltre reeks of an underachieving talented player who happens to have a career year in his free agent contract year, only to revert back to mediocrity after a big payday.

Barons rotation next season?
You gotta figure Tracey will be there....... Not sure about the others. Wing is likely to be there assuming his rehab goes according to plan. Honel is a total question mark. Malone too, although he has been working hard in rehab and staying in shape. As always, a lot depends on what AAA free agents they sign. If they sign a couple of pitchers, then guys like Villacis could get pushed back to AA. You would have to think that Ulacia, Phillips and Villacis would move up to AAA, whether they are in the rotation or not. Villacis may even be a free agent. Pacheco is another question mark. He could land in AA or AAA. My guess is McCarthy goes to AAA, but that may depend on how he throws in the AFL and ST. Meaux will either be in AAA as a reliever or AA. He won't start in AAA.

James Baldwin
Note, Majewski is now in the Majors with Montreal.......

Esteban Loaiza
Pierre, Beltre and Pavano........ from what crack pipe are you smoking?
-
Jose Capellan
Yes, that would be fair. Keep in mind that Francis is 23 and MCCarthy is 21. Francis just happens to be a LHP and closer to the bigs, which gives him a decided advantage today.

Spidale
Not trying to be an ass, but I have done so many times already..... search through some recent threads for your answer. The short of it is that I think he will eventually be a reserve OF in the bigs rather than a starter.

8/28 Games
Interesting......... most leagues give the team with the next best overall record the wild card....... which in this case would be Myrtle Beach. Seems weird to award the 2nd place finisher in the second half, and penalize the team that did the same in the first half.... especially if that team has the better overall record.

8/28 Games
I don't think Winston-Salem will make the playoffs.
