Wednesday news wrapup
I knew it. Ozzie is going to play Willie Harris as much as he can, kinda try and develop him into a Juan Pierre. CWSOX45 Rightfully so. I whould love for Willie to come out guns out, and just light it up this season, but I think Ozzie is going to find out that Willie isnt cut out to be a big leauge hitter. I really, really hope im wrong, cause I think if Willie breakes out this season, he could be a favorite. I just realized, that if Willie learned to play the game right, he could be our mix of Pierre (Offense) and Castillo (Defense)! WOW! More likely he'll be on the bench or back in AAA.

Any news on Carl Everett?
He's gone, get used to it.......

Okay, I will say it. It's nothign personal, but your long posts are a pain in the ass to read. The quote function would be helpful.

Rick Morrissey's Article
Past, you are right..... he is challenging Frank........ trying to light a fire... Ozzie hopes to meet with Frank this weekend, but he is going out to Vegas for the Sox Organizational Meetings that begin tomorrow. Frank is not the purpose of the trip, however, he could be the most important part of it.

New Assistant for KW
The Brewers system definitely has taken a turn for the better. From AA down, it is pretty well stocked with potential high impact prospects. Wonder if this means Roland Hemond may be cutting back or leaving?

Did I see that in green, Steff? LOL

BINGO guys I know Colon is obviously going to eat up more innings, but for those people who keep saying don't look at Ponson cause he just had his career year, he's going to be 27 at the beginning of next season he's still a very young pitcher, and look at his numbers they keep getting better and better each year, maybe he's learned how to pitch a little bit, cause he's always had the stuff. Listen guys.. I am totally biased because I've know Sidney for a long time. But one thing is that this is the first year that that moron Scott Erickson hasn't been up his ass to go party every night, and Sidney really got into a work out regime and started eating way better. He dropped close to 20 pounds and he's a rock. He's getting mentally into the game more - he's only 27 - and he's maturing. Obviously you all know my opinion. I would love for him to play here, but aside from that I think it's a good fit for the Sox. What the hell.. it's not like things can get any worse.. As long as he doesn't start hanging with Frank in the strip clubs.

Wonder what Thomas thinks now...
Looks like we have a new member.... welcome! I wouldn't worry about that comment from Ozzie. I would guess it is as much a joke as anything. Or perhaps a joke with a subconscious hint that he wants them to pick up a quality starter or two.

Centerfield Job For Next Season
Michael Jordan drove in 51 runs and had 30 SB's in 1994, while only hitting .202. Maybe he should have kept playing baseball?

Ozzie Guillen
No, there is no difference. Cotts made one start and struggled so everybody said he sucks. The point is that judgement was made way too quickly, which is the point that was trying to be made with Reed. This was never about Cotts control, or how good he will be, it was about the idiotic overreaction of a large number of people who post on message boards. If the Sox can trade Cotts and Borchard for Vazquez, they should do it without hesitation. They should also trade Rauch for Mike Mussina and Honel for Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling. All three deals have about the same chance of being made. ZERO

While I think there is a good possibility that Pettite will sign with the Astros, I think there is an equally good chance he will re-sign with the Yankees. Just because a player files for Free Agency, DOES NOT mean he will not re-sign with his original club. Let's all learn this concept and not forget.... Often times a player files, tests the market and then stays put. It is not a novel concept.

Sox Shopping for bargains
Jason, the only problem you left out in regards to Iguchi, is that to obtain him, the Sox would have to outbid any other interested MLB teams. He is not a free agent, so there would be a bid process like there was with Ichiro and Irabu. Plus, I don't see a Japanese player coming to the states for $1.5 million. Just a hunch.

Ozzie Guillen
Are you kidding 4 AB's? It won't take near that long, all he has to do is take a first pitch strike in his first AB and everyone will start complaining... LOL It certainly didn't take Neal Cotts long to "suck"

Wonder what Thomas thinks now...
I agree his words were questionable....... unless higher ups told him they wanted him to challenge Frank. Maybe they think that is what Frank needs?

Wonder what Thomas thinks now...
Technically, Ozzie is going to Vegas for the Sox Organizational Meetings. He may meet Frank there, but that is not the purpose of the trip.

Roberto Alomar
I believe he will be a solid setup guy. A Mike Stanton, perhaps?
-
Roberto Alomar
I don't think he is a Major Leaguer. He could surprise me, but I just don't see it.
-
Roberto Alomar
Robbie would not come back for a back up role. Would he agree to sit against most lefthanders? Possible........ They key is finding a utility guy that can fill in against lefties. Isn't that also Graffy's weak side as well?

Fernando Vina
Soriano led off for the Yankees........ However, Soriano is not an ideal leadoff hitter.
-
Magglio Trade
The only chink in your armor there Yas, is that both Maggs and Beltran will be free agents after this coming season. So if the Yankees can't get them signed to an extension, either could walk after one year. And they may walk for reasons other than money. Lastly. I think will see less and less of Steinbrenner spending wildly. I am not saying they won't go after big name free agents, because you know they will. But I have a hunch that with the changing climate of the game, even the Yankees will be a bit more fiscally responsible.

Yankees Name Hitting Coach
Willie Randolph moves to bench coach, Lee Mazzili moves to 3B coach if he doesn't get the Baltimore Manager's job. Pitching coach is the only position up in the air.

Centerfield Job For Next Season
Jason, will you give up on Everett already. He's much farther gone than Colon and Wally Backman.

Post hot chicks pics in here
Is that what you use Murcie?

Here's a Name
Hey Josh, when do your Santurce boys start playing Winter Ball? I'll expect daily updates, of course.
