  1. Sending Maggs would have been a bad baseball move. There are too many ways to score from 3rd with one out to move a runner with average speed. Especially on a 3-1 count. That's a hitters count. The right move there was exactly what was done. Everything worked except that the line drive was caught. Sometimes in baseball you just don't have luck on your side. If Maggs gets thrown out at 2B on a steal attempt or Rowand gets thrown out at home trying to advance on the throw down, it is viewed as a stupid move. There is no reason to take the bat out of Daubach's hands in that situation. The real issue was why the Sox didn't score before that time.
  2. Steff, it is hard to ignore someone so obviously clueless, but I am going to begin doing so and suggest you do the same. The guy can't have a conversation with himself. Or can he?
  3. I agree. They are ranked #1 in the state. There is no way you give up the opportunity to play for a state championship.
  4. You're forgiven, Steff........ but the numbers back my argument. Everett should not have been chosen for the game over Frank. The players did vote him in and it makes me wonder why Frank can't even get 58 votes from the players? That is all he needed to beat Carl. What does it say about Frank that his peers didn't vote him in?
  5. Giambi over Thomas to replace Sweeney........ just announced. This really surprises me. doesnt surprise me at all.....do you honestly think that jr would let frank go without playing in an all star game he is hosting??? no freakin way......bud is his best buddy... of course the whole thing was rigged from the get go.. .they knew darn right well that frank was gonna replace sweeney......the voting s*** is just that.. s***........ That made no sense. Frank isn't replacing Sweeney, Giambi is. then never mind.... lol i thought frank was replacing sweeney......my bad....... The fact that he wasn't chosen is what surprised me.

  7. Youre darn right. I can think whatever I want and I think anyone who thinks Thomas shouldnt be in the AS game can go to hell. That would be YOU. You don't read very well, do you?? I said Thomas should have been on the roster instead of Carl Everett. However, Carl Everett got 58 votes from the players to beat him out. Why couldn't Frank get at least 58 votes from his own peers? I do believe Frank deserved to make it, but to go crazy when the fans didn't vote him in (twice), the players didn't vote him in and the manager didn't pick him, maybe there is a reason? Can all of those people be wrong?? Keep in mind, that there were 32 spots this year instead of 30 (as in pervious years) plus Sweeney's injury made it 33. That's 3 extra spots. Like Frank all you want. But if you want to argue that Frank got screwed then you need to b**** at the players. Or, just step back and have a little objectivity and realize that maybe, just maybe he wasn't good enough early in the season and it cost him.
  8. Roman is quite comical tonight....
  9. Both former Barons as well.....
  10. Do you ever stop to think before you type this crap? Go ahead, root for who you want. Think what you want. I'm sure everyone on here gives a s***.
  11. Kind of like any NBA game?? Only the last two minutes count........
  12. Brumbaugh would be hard to callup from Korea. He was released almost a month ago.
  13. Thanks Molto. I have said it 10 times already and I will say it again. The players did not choose Frank and they chose Carl Everett instead. That is the biggest farce. I read somewhere today that Frank didn't even finish second among DH's in the players tally. Not exactly sure how to read into that, but there has to be something to it.
  14. MLB told Halladay he had to pitch 1 inning. But I wouldn't expect him to start. I didn't hear that, but good for MLB. I think it is crap that Toronto wanted to pitch him before and after the game and make him sit out.
  15. Everett is the only guy that Frank truly deserved to beat out. You should boo him!
  16. I'd expect no less from you.....
  17. Stop teasing us!
  18. A good start for Esteban will take care of that tomorrow night. If he has an iffy start tomorrow night, then someone else may be picked.
  19. So oldroman, I guess you are telling me to rot in hell?? Nice and classy.
  20. Chill people....... Frank had more than enough chances to make the team. 33 players made it before him. The Sox own player Carl Everett is the one guy Frank should have beaten out. Don't blame Scioscia, don't blame MLB. Blame all the players who didn't vote for Frank. Or blame the fans who didn't vote him in over Edgar in the first place.
  21. Giambi had great numbers. I have no problem with him being selected, although I thought Frank would get the nod because of where the game was held.
  22. Carl Everett is the only guy I see on the All-Star team that Frank should clearly have made it instead of.
  23. Frank's OPS is .986. And I'm guessing Frank would have more than 48 RBI if he had Soriano and Jeter hitting 1-2 in front of him, rather than Jimenez and (mostly) Valentin. Add in the facts that Frank is the greatest player in franchise history, and finished second in the FAN voting. Well, this just stinks. Jeter missed a month so he didn't help Giambi's RBI numbers that much...
