  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 07:50 AM) I thought she looked awful! She's definitely not a looker. She's doable, but she definitely needs the makeup to be presentable.
  2. He's not getting "banned" and the NBA has nothing to do with it. The Magic are including a simple non-compete clause in the buyout agreement to protect their own interests. Think how they would feel if he has another change of heart after next season and lands as the Head Coach of the Miami Heat? Non-compete clauses are pretty standard fare in certain business situations.
  3. Amanda Beard on Letterman tonight. Let's see how she looks in glorious HD!
  4. On the football front, Michigan picked up two four-star commitments this week and narrowly missed on a third. Michigan signed NJ linebacker Marcus Witherspoon and in-state DT Mike Martin. They were favored to get a commitment from GA DT Omar Hunter, but Hunter surprised everyone by choosing Notre Dame. He visited both this weekend and admitted Michigan was way ahead going in. But depth charts seemed to win out and he felt he could play sooner at ND. All three are members of the recently released Rivals 250 and four-star rated players. Michigan is now up to 7 commitments, six of which are 4-star members of the Rivals 250. Three are in the Rivals Top 100.
  5. QUOTE(BamaJason @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 02:15 PM) Thanks for the comments on the pics. I took a couple hundred, but I especially liked the dive back to first. I also got a few of Donny Lucy doing the same thing. About 10 years ago (after the restoration) I went over to Rickwood and took about 50 shots with B&W film. They turned out great as I recall, but I can't find them now. I did not get a stadium replica during the promotion a couple of years ago, but I have noticed the gift shop at Regions Park sells a replica of Rickwood. I wonder if it is any larger or more detailed than the promotional item? Same one, just without the giveaway sponsor logos. Take a look at one up close and tell me what you think. I designed it.

Good stuff here. I think I am going to have to watch last night's episode again tomorrow night. I still think we need a 2-hour finale next Sunday. Will they at least have an hour "reunion" type show?? And in the totally random info category, Jessica Alba is on The Tonight Show right now and she looks smokin' hot in lovely high definition!!
  7. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 05:08 AM) So lame on Billy D's part. What would have happened if Florida hired a coach before this? Billy would have been SOL. Apparently, they may have only been hours from doing so. I also think this is pretty lame. He basically has a case of buyer's remorse. At some point these coaches need to put the brakes on rushing into these decisions OR stick with it. Basically what is happening is the process gets rushed so much so the decision is made before the media swell hits.
  8. Is it just me or am I the only one that doesn't put too much stock a verbal commitment from a 15-yr old??

Well damn.... so much for the theory the show may go quietly. I found myself so into the show tonight, I was surprised when it ended. It felt like it had just started and left me wanting more. I guess that is what they are trying to accomplish. It would be nice if they could give us a 3-hour series finale next week, wouldn't it? lol
  10. Anybody have a scout.com membership and not Rivals? Willing to trade logins? PM me!
  11. Neither of the two shown in this thread compare to a Wally Backman tirade a few years ago when he was managing the Barons. At the time I posted full details of it, but cannot access the search function to go back and try and find the original post. In a nutshell, it consisted of all the normal yelling and screaming at multiple umpires, including stopping and then turning around and starting again. Then he kicked three baseballs sitting on home plate (the batboy had brought them out but the umpire was busy, so he sat them down) like kicking a FG. Then he threw about 20 bats out of the dugout, two chairs, a few helmets, the gum and seeds bucket and two powerade coolers. It seemed like it took about 10 minutes for him to throw everything. He'd throw something, yell from the dugout and as soon as you thought he was done, something else would come flying out of the dugout. The funny thing that no one knew about at the time was that when he was done, he smiled at pitching coach Juan Nieves, said "it's all yours" and laughed as he headed into the tunnel toward the clubhouse. I wish it was caught on video because it was absolutely priceless.
  12. Every true baseball fan should attend the Rickwood Classic at least once. While a subpar facility by today's standards, Rickwood Field makes you feel like you are walking back in time when you see it. It is the oldest ballpark in America and a true landmark. Few ballparks still standing can match it's history. It's history dates from the barnstorming tours involving players such as Babe Ruth to Dizzy Dean winning a 1-0 game an old Minor League World Series to Willie Mays roaming the outfield at 17 yrs old. The ballpark has a true feel of history and greatness. The weather Wednesday was perfect and there was a nice crowd. I may see if I can dig up some old pics and post them on here. I didn't take any this week as I just sneaked over for a long lunch. Nice job with the photos Jason. Did you get one of the stadium replicas given away a few years ago??
  13. The biggest question is where is YOUR copy?? If you have one, then this should be easy. Take it to the bar manager and have him clear it up. If you don't, then call the restaurant/bar and ask if they will look up your receipt. Tell them what you had and that it does not make sense that you would leave a $25 tip on a $20 tab. If they balk, then call your credit card company/bank. Don't start firing bullets until necessary. Try a simple professional approach first. It may have simply been a mistake.
  14. From the Liggins article on Rivals this weeK: The No. 18 ranked player in the Class of 2008 has a top five that includes Memphis, Illinois, Texas, Kentucky, and Kansas. Liggins says he plans to unofficially visit Kentucky, Memphis, and Kansas in June.
  15. Changing to football, Michigan picked up two commitments this week. After starting somewhat slowly this recruiting season (or at least slowly behind ND's rocket pace), Michigan now has five commitments including three from Rivals pre-season Top 100. The latest commitments were Kurt Wermers, an OL from Crown Point and Top 100 TE Brandon Moore a 6'6 beast from Trotwood OH. So far three of Michigan's recruits are OL, which is by far their greatest need in this class.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 17, 2007 -> 12:41 AM) Jordin >>>>>>>>>> Taylor Hicks. That is all. Personally, I like Taylor a lot better. But then again, I think Taylor as someone that you want to go see in a club, not a stadium. I am not saying he isn't good and only belongs in smaller clubs, but I just think that is his appeal. He may end up with some mass appeal before it is all over, but I think he is just cutout for friends drinking beers and having a good time watching/listening to Taylor perform. Jordin could definitely have great commercial success and her upside is huge, as was noted. Soxy, I have said the same thing for weeks about Jordin losing weight. I somewhat surprised it has already happened. I can't see her losing, but what the hell do I know?

I was disappointed to see Melinda leave tonight, but it didn't surprise me. I just can't grow to like Blake. I know he is talented, but not enough to be the winner. Jordin will win this thing. Can't say this season was nearly as strong as past seasons.
  18. QUOTE(Brian @ May 15, 2007 -> 06:19 PM) Met her in person during my internship, she is sooooo hot in person. Beautiful! Which means Playboy will screw her up with all the makeup, hair and air brushing
  19. The loss of Shaw is not a big one. While I liked some of what I saw in him, there was no room for him this year. Ratliff and Gordon will eat up whatever minutes Shaw might have. Even if EJ leaves after one year, with Mackey and Eshuante Jones coming in, I don't see him getting much time then. Basically, they recruited right over the top of him. You guys are right on with IU's targets and the idea of holding Shaw's scholly for next year. Kevin Jones is interesting to me, but as has been said, we have to be careful not to get too many players at the same position. Can't have a team of all 2's and 3's.
  20. The absolute best program period is CASH! Dump the plastic!
  21. Rex Hudler replied to RibbieRubarb's topic in SLaM
Agreed....... seeing her riding Tony was hot. She was smokin in those cutoff jean shorts when Tony first arrived. On that note, we need to see more Meadow in the last few episodes.
  22. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 12, 2007 -> 11:25 AM) We were at Yogi's last night, when Devin Ebanks, EJ, DJ, Stemler, Thomas, etc. all came in. It was pretty cool; they got a nice little reception from everyone. My friend and I are heading to Assembly in a few to check out some games with DeShaun Thomas (2010), Tyler Zeller (2008), Devin Ebanks (2008) etc. Also, I saw DeAndre Thomas for the first time in person yesterday. The dude is a big boy, but seeing him in person was a lot more assuring than reading what he looked like. He'll definitely need to lose some poundage, but he seems like he can be a nice presence in the paint. Good stuff, greasy. Would love some reports on the games. I'm curious to know how good DeShaun Thomas really is.

QUOTE(retro1983hat @ May 3, 2007 -> 08:36 AM) LAst night's losers were easy to predict and although I thought he was the worst of the bunch, I kind of felt bad about Phil leaving. He seemed like a genuinely good guy and went and hugged his fellow sailors, wife, the judges and contestants during his last song. I hope it's Jordin vs. Blake in the finale. I know I am a week late here, but I thought Phil's exit song was the classiest goodbye I have seen since the show began. He seemed to be genuinely enjoying the moment and soaking it all in. I thought he was getting stronger each week.

How exactly did the show end? My DVR cut short the ending even though it acknowledged teh super sized time slot. The last thing I saw was Pam opening up and telling Jim she misses having fun with him. As she walks towards the water, Michael said something to the effect "Well I am still looking for sales...." That's all I got. What did I miss?
