  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 31, 2006 -> 12:09 PM) For whatever reason, I have Mike Murphy on right now and he's offering up one of the most ridiculous questions I've ever heard. Would you trade Brian Anderson straight up for Juan Pierre? Is there a single person on this board who would make that trade? I'm listening too...no f***ing way. f*** Juan Pierre. We'd have dual noodle arms in our outfield. I still say there is more that can be done at the SS position. I want more Pablo and Cintron at SS.
  2. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ May 31, 2006 -> 08:23 AM) I think you guys are overreacting... It's hard for any team to sweep a 4 game series on the road... Sure, but you try and win every game, and last night, in the ninth, they did some stupid s***.
  3. QUOTE(bogie @ May 30, 2006 -> 09:00 PM) Pods gets on base via walk. Cintron swings at first pitch and grounds out AND doesn't allow Pods to attempt a steal. ( Yes, if Cintron gets a hit there I'm not even writing this). With 2 out and Thome on deck, Iguci swings at first pitch and makes an out. ( Yes, if Iguci gets a hit I;m not writing this). I think Cintron should have had a better at bat allowing Pods to steal. If successful, man on second -no outs. I think Iguchi should have gone deeper into the count on that at bat... No guarantees, but ......... I wanted Cintron's head after that. f***ing horrible. And Iguchi made no sense either. Pathetic last night. I feel good that Freddie and the Count will get us the next two.
  4. I present game 2 of the World Series as evidence why Pods can not play centerfield. In the ninth inning, when Jenks gave up the hit to left, any decent armed left fielder would have gunned down the second guy trying to score. But girly arm could barely get the ball there, and they tied the game. I can't imagine having that limp noodle throwing from center. Pods plays left, end of story. As for Anderson, his defense should keep him in the lineup. I'm more interested in seeing more Ozuna and Cintron at short, instead of Uribe. Both play good defense over there, and offer a better bat. Plus Uribe continues to be anti-clutch.
  5. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 29, 2006 -> 04:37 AM) Much as I dont want him to have to do it I think maybe a brief stint down there would serve as a wake up call. His defense is good but he really is horrible at the dish. I'm with you. AS much as we don't need his bat. We also don't need a guy killing our rallies.
  6. QUOTE(The Critic @ May 29, 2006 -> 08:48 AM) http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060529/ap_en_mo/obit_gleason "You mess with the bull, you get the HORNS!" RIP Paul I hope God doesn't know he raided Barry Manilow's wardrobe. He might not get into heaven. RIP

    Dog question

QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 30, 2006 -> 11:16 AM) I have a male Rotty. It seems like he is a little more agressive and territorial than the female versions of his breed. Also size is a consideration as well. I've got a male Weimaraner. He is very territorial, even though he is neutered. He is aggressive towards kids too. He makes me nervous sometimes. We take precautions to keep him away if a little one is over.
  8. Don't forget BOOM by P.O.D....for when Bad Bobby enters the game.
  9. The Best was Jenks doing an imitation of Ozzie's call to the pen...and finishing it with the F U sign to Ozzie. That is the second time I saw JD TV. The last time was not as funny as last night.
  10. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ May 25, 2006 -> 10:45 AM) I believe Season 2 comes out on October 3rd just before the new season starts. Link to Amazon.com "Lost-Season 2 DVD" page Sounds good...I'm going to give it a shot.
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 25, 2006 -> 09:43 AM) Anyone else watch this show??? The finale was incredible and finally started to give more backround info on the last two seasons along with lots of the side characters. I can't wait until the next season, I am so addicted to this show. Um...why weren't you watching the Sox? I think I'm going to buy Season 1 and try and get into this show...everyone says great things. Hopefully Season 2 will be out on DVD before Season 3 starts.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 24, 2006 -> 11:09 AM) Going for first sweep since 1983. The sox are 13-34 vs the A's since 2001. Since '83? Holy f***. LEt's get this. Go get 'em Buerhle!
  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 24, 2006 -> 09:44 AM) That's a break, because he would have been matched up against Garland. Oooh, that would have been rough.
  14. QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ May 24, 2006 -> 08:52 AM) It could be. The rest of the season could easily be sellouts. We've had 5 consecutive sellouts, tonight is a sellout, and the next homestand begins with a weekend series (should sell out), then Detroit comes to town, and then summer is in full effect. I have tickets for tonight...but I checked tonight...for 2 best available...and nothing. I was a little shocked. This is great stuff. No doubt about it.
  15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 24, 2006 -> 01:29 AM) Anyone remember a few years ago when some guy at soxfest asked about Pauly playing 3rd because it worked on his xbox? Listen...If I can take out an entire base of alien invaders, capture the flag, and run it all the way back to my base, then paulie can play third. Its obvious. XBOX is real world simulation.
  16. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 23, 2006 -> 03:42 PM) Its rough...too many commercials.
  17. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 23, 2006 -> 03:20 PM) It was a hilarious interview. North explicitly asked Rothschild what Prior's injury was and he responded with talking about Prior's two previous injuries (his collision with Marcus Giles and getting hit in the elbow by that linedrive). He said that those are hard things for a young pitcher to overcome. Rothschild never once said what Prior's current injury is/was. The Cubs are such a joke. They are masters of the injury coverup. So basically he's not injured...he's scared! Nice. What is the official diagnosis? Chicken-little-itis? I also heard that Prior's father was not a fan of the Cubs organization and how they handle his prize son.
  18. Absolutely horrible. The Go-Go Song from '59 is just fine for me.
  19. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 23, 2006 -> 02:19 PM) Good question. And heres my thoughts on that. Mark Prior has an undisclosed injury really, and didnt have surgery, and should have been rehabbing this whole time, extended ST, some Rookie Games, and then making his way to the bigs. Where is the guy? He is finally making a start this weekend, what the hell has he been doing this whole time? Since I don't really listen to terrestrial radio anymore, I did not hear this first hand, but I heard that Rothchild, the cubs pitching coach, was on Mike North, saying that nothing is wrong with Prior, and it sounds like Prior is just being over-cautious. Did anyone here this interview? What was said? And how was that for a run-on sentence?!?
  20. I was sent a video clip of the punch, from a Cubs fan here at work...and after AJ gets punched, it says 'OWNED'...and they subject line of his e-mail was 'I can Watch This All Day'. So apparently the Cubs are enjoying this.
  21. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ May 23, 2006 -> 11:04 AM) I got blasted at the beginning of this season for saying that 2005 was an OBVIOUS fluke, so I'll just shut up about that now and let the numbers speak for themselves the rest of the way. I'm really not sure what indications anyone has been given that Garland can even give up less than 5 or 6 runs against most competitive American League teams. Let me re-iterate: Garland has an ERA above 10 against teams not named TB, KC and Seattle. You know, teams we're likely to be facing in the playoffs... Don't worry about the playoffs...Garland wouldn't even start. It would be Count, Buerhle, Freddy and Javy.
  22. In a few years, Frank will be our hitting coach. Just can't see it any other way. As for the game yesterday, I definately felt warm and fuzzy over Frank's return. The video montage reminded us about all the great things Frank did...and then seeing him crush Garland brought back a lot of great memories.
  23. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 22, 2006 -> 03:17 PM) On their MLB board, alot of them side with AJP. I mean, Barrett's actions were so retarded even he admitted that he was wrong. AJP might be a 'prick' as they put it...but he's a prick with a World Series Championship ring. He is a gamer, and Barrett...well, 'chump' sounds about right.
  24. Just bought 2 tickets...I'll be applauding. Frank was the man, and he deserves to be appreciated.
