QUOTE(Pods22 @ Dec 12, 2006 -> 07:51 AM) That actually sounds like they would rather be somewhere else instead. Can't say I blame them. Hey, we wouldnt want them anyway .... This party isnt for everyone. There will be cold beer, lots of fun, lots of Sox fans talking Sox baseball, Live Music. Admittedly, some arent into this kind of stuff

QUOTE(longshot7 @ Dec 6, 2006 -> 12:50 PM) No, it was AWFUL. It was like watching neighborhood football on a bigger scale. What they promised and didn't deliver was behind the field storylines. It should have been taped in advance, with sidelines and off-field personal life stuff, like a reality show. That would have succeeded. Say, isnt that what one of the networks is doing now? with that show about highschool football?

Good Luck Freddy, you earned the name Big Game Freddy.

QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 11:39 AM) [ So far, we've dealt Garcia and Cotts, and gotten back good returns. Plus we've re-signed or extended MacDougal, Gload and Ozuna. What about those deals suggests rebuilding to you? Nothing-if you are the Royals heh heh

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 11:13 AM) This is just you bragging that you are full of good ideas. I doubt its true. Say, now that you mention it, I should be working for them
-
Every single Idea ive pitched to him, he has either strongly considered it/made it a reality. This marketing department truly talks and interacts to its fans. Coolest thing hes ever done? He came down to my seat to say hello to me last season during a game. way cool.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 09:33 AM) I find it ironic that a person who has dedicated many a closed thread on conspiracy theories linked to a certain newspaper quotes a columnist from that newspaper. hey, lets not let the fact that i've been attributed to many an exposed theory ruin the fact that hey, the writer was there and thats what he had to say about the whole affair. I thought it was interesting that he could be more candid talking about US vs what he could say talking about them

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 09:26 AM) Now this is the stuff we should have been doing all along. Instead of fretting about the future, we should have been enjoying the present. As the older Sox fans can attest to, World Series champs don't exactly grow on trees in Chicago. Dont have to tell me that twice. When I wake up early on saturday mornings, just doing stuff around the house, I put in my WS Dvd, or one of the playoff/ws games, and just crank up the volume. -
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 09:33 AM) I dont understand the issue that everyone has with this. We could A pay our pitchers 60-70 mill as a unit. Or we could do an in place rebuild where we rotate a guy into the rotation every year and have a nice long run like the Braves. your like the 10th person I've heard say this, lets be like the braves, and we can win the division 10 years straight by rotating our pitching staff. Except remember that they pretty much kept theyre big3 together the whole time. Garland is YOUNG and relatively inexpensive right now, theres no reason to trade him at this point ..........

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 09:19 AM) ru·mor /ˈrumər/ [roo-mer] So far, we've dealt Garcia and Cotts, and gotten back good returns. Plus we've re-signed or extended MacDougal, Gload and Ozuna. What about those deals suggests rebuilding to you? Let's wait on the panic button, k? suggests I'd rather keep our YOUNG pitching (aka Jon Garland) and sign to another extension.
-
This was HUGE TOPIC on the baseball show yesterday on 670. It was leaked out late last week that the SOX almost had a deal to trade Garland, but it was confirmed on the show that the SOX were THISCLOSE to dealing him for prospects with the Astros, but the Astros backed out at the last second. The only thing I could think, which is was that sinking feeling I got after the Phil Rogers article last week. The SOX may truly be on a "rebuilding" plan in regards to their pitching staff, with no extensions being handed out altogether. "chatter" in the MLB suggests the SOX would very much like to deal him right now .................. Im not very happy about this recent turn-of-events

QUOTE(Vance Law @ Dec 7, 2006 -> 10:52 PM) ...and on Soxtalk has begun the "the sky is falling" plan tell me this, why in the world are the SOX considering moving Jon Garland?
-
That is one of Phil Rogers' best articles in some time, and he raises some very KEY points. WHAT ARE THEY DOING? Its almost like they went from doing nothing, to having no plan at all now. 1st thing people said to me last nite after this "trade"? THEY BETTER NOT BE CUTTING PAYROLL You heard it right. If all of this pans out, it just means the SOX have quietly started a rebuilding plan, mainly to get rid of guys before they were due. When Buehrle was signed to his current contract, I laughed at how it was all backloaded to the coming years, and I joked that this would be Buehrles last year as a SOX on another site. Of course, I was met with dismay, but this all looks like were heading down this nickel-and-dime road again. Mind you, I admire not going HOG WILD and HURLING WADS OF BILLS around like the end of the world (certain team up north) but this is ridiculous. THE WINDOW FOR WS CHAMPIONS CLOSES EVEN MORE NOW .............

Took him all of 2006, and numerous mis-cues/mis-plays to figure that out?

Rumor:Garcia to Philles for Arow + Madson/Floyd

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 04:12 PM) Rollins, Lieber, Floyd and Rowand for Garcia, Uribe and Aardesma. There you go ..... -
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 4, 2006 -> 12:01 PM) Levine has mentioned Rowand's name every monday morning for the past 3 months, this is nothing new. I'm starting to think he's just throwing this out there once every couple days as pure speculation in order to keep Sox fans listening to his updates since most still love Aaron. Either that, or there is a small movement on the medias part to get him back in a SOX uniform.

Anyone else saddened by the decline of Britney Spears

QUOTE(bschmaranz @ Nov 27, 2006 -> 03:04 PM) A 34 year old second baseman converting to the outfield isn't worth nearly that much bread imo. I know a team that paid a 31 year old second baseman, converted him to the outfield, for 8 years $136 Million

QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Nov 29, 2006 -> 03:08 PM) how does one get the world series trophy to bring to a party? Very Careful Planning !!!!

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Nov 29, 2006 -> 01:55 PM) Hangar, I got to ask...what the hell is a hair washing contest? Few people I know are having a schedule conflict, Friday nites being optimal times to wash hair apparently. It was suggested we do a Hair-Washing thing Friday nite, for those who wish to partake
