  1. Let's not forget Adkins was thought very highly of before he had his surgery and did very well in AAA with us last year.
  2. The Twin's GM on Talkin' Baseball with Bruce Levne: "We're scared of the White Sox."
  3. That's a good point about Kip and I have to agree with you on what you say about Cooper. The last thing our young ptichers needed was someone ragging on them when they pitch bad like Nardi did. Cooper is much more laid back and is teaching the right things like don't be afriad to pitch inside. The perfomances of our pitchers since July 22 shows his impact already especially on Garland. Garland ERA on July 22= 5.12 Garland ERA in 2002= 4.58
  4. Can you hear these shows without registering? I heard one once but I don't know how I did it.
  5. Gotta go with Kip Wells on this one. I think Fogg will be a good reliever but I don't know about starter. Wells I think will be a decent starter as his ERA showed last year. He probably needed to get away from Nardi and the gang in Chicago.
  6. Looks like All Star Baseball has some cool new stuff too especially Scenario mode. Pick up mode looks good too. I think I'll stick with World Series Baseball and its deep franchise mode though.
  7. For All Star Baseball or World Series Baseball (sega)?
  8. 6 hours until spring training would be nice but I think you mistyped again.
  9. Why is Olivo's nickname Corky? Personally for Colon I would call him Fatolo
  10. No way. Dunn might be better than Lee but at this point we can't be sure. I think Lee is ready for a breakout year also. But the Griffey for Maggs part is what makes this trade ridiculous. I'd rather not give up maybe the best RF in baseball for an old has-been CF who gets injured every year now and has reports of being a big clubhouse cancer. I don't care if the other part was Dunn for Yofu.
  11. The Mariners and A's start spring training a earlier than all the other teams because they open the season in Japan on March 25...a week before the start of the season for everyone else.
  12. It is usually the number of homers they hit, and about the number of baserunners they throw out. Miguel will change that in a few years.
  13. I'm telling you all, the one by Sega is going to be sweet. You can have 4 man rotations, you hire and fire coaches. You set up a percentage of when your bench players come in. Its going to be sweet. That and the EA one are the two that look best to me. All Star Baseball seems like its falling behind when it comes to the Franchise mode. Yeah the Sega one will be the best in my opinion. It is called World Series Baseball 2k3 and it will be out for the PS2 and Xbox. The franchise mode will be insane! For a preview of franchise mode go here: http://xbox.ign.com/articles/383/383953p1.html But basically you can hire and fire coaches (pitching, hitting, manager etc...) as well as scouts for certain amount of money and they all have ratings. Hiring badly rated scouts could cause you to have highly rated minor leaguers who in reality aren't great. You can customize your coaches to teach what you want them to teach. Like Pitching Coach can focus on velocity, mechanics or control. It also has the ESPN liscence which makes it more authentic.
  14. Bringing Borchard up just to sit on the bench and pich hit is a bad idea. Maybe he can hit major league pitching but he still hasn't played very much in the minors. Harris may not be a great hitter but he can be valuable off the bench. Rowand claims he is 85-90% healthy so I think he'll be ready to go. Plus with Rios and Daubach we have 2 more good bench outfielders.
  15. It was interesting to see how Buehrle and Williams were joking together on Saturday. Especially when they were talking about Sandy and Williams interrups and says "That would be tampering...I'm sure Mark Buehrle could tell you about that." or something of the likes. Also Someone in the crowd shouted out "why don't you give the money to Buehrle?" in response to US Cellular Field and Buehrle gave him a thumbs up and said to KW "I didn't say it, he did".
  16. ...Well that is why he said barring injury. He means with the current team we don't have a place for him and I tend to agree. He hasn't even played much minor league ball.
  17. Well Borchard won't make the team out of spring training. KW already said a couple times at SoxFest that barring injury he will start at AAA.
  18. Baggio- I remember hearing your questions but I can't remember what you looked like.
  19. You guys are talking about renovations now but all we are getting is $3 million per year. Is that really going to help us that much? It should at least be US Cellular Park not Field. I wish we could've signed a company with a name that sounds like a ballpark name.
  20. That's a heartbreaker. Billy Koch is great.
  21. On WSI someone said he is coming just Friday.....does it say just Friday or the whole weekend? I'm going to be there Saturday and Sunday.
  22. Its $6.375 mill in 2004... The contract is right in the middle of what both wanted.
  23. we know, isn't that sweet. Well hopefully soom noobies (such as me) didn't know.
  24. Jason Gage has a quote in the newest ESPN the Magazine ( just got it in the mail a few minutes ago) under the Ultimate Standings for the White Sox.
