  1. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 09:10 PM) Lebron's not going to New York. Cleveland will go as far as giving him a future ownership share in order to keep him. I bet NY would too.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 07:00 PM) Watching the replay real quick, Pods missed an absolutely meatball on the first pitch in the 9th inning. The pitch to end the game wasn't even f***ing close. Your pods hate is getting old. He has contributed more to this team than Brian Anderson,Chris Getz, Josh Fields and Alexei Ramirez to name a few.
  3. QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 06:52 PM) How is that fair and how is this bulls***? There is no law that says if you are drafted you HAVE to play for that team. Rubio doesn't want to play for Minnesota, so hes staying in Spain. I think Minnesota should have done some better research if you ask me and this is their own problem. Sports are about the fans first and foremost. Players who do this only hurt the fans of the particular market/franchise. I know as a Bulls fan that I really won't have to ever worry about this type of situation, but it does not make it right that there are about 5-10 fan bases that have to think about this in the back of their mind. It would be better for the league as a whole if this bulls*** would end. I hope to never see Ricky Rubio on a NBA floor. f*** him.
  4. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 06:07 PM) I wouldn't be surprised to see New York try & get in on him. I would think it would take either Jordan Hill, David Lee or Danilo Gallinari and Nate Robinson as a throw in. I look at that roster and do not see anything else that is really worth a damn.
  5. I wish the NBA could somehow set an example of Rubio. Ban him from the league and give Min a Comp pick next year. This is bulls***.
  6. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 02:03 AM) The way I look at it is this; 1 - SVG plays his starters 35 mins a night anyways, so he doesn't need a big bench. Plus we have Pietrus and J.J Redick to back up at 2-3 spots. 2 - With Anthony Johnson exercising his player option, we have our backup PG. So Alston wasn't needed, and he's a bit of a cancer and not good enough of a shooter for my liking (I was pretty critical of him in the playoffs). 3 - Losing Lee hurts because he's the first draft pick the Magic have hit on since Howard. But his upside is probably only as a solid player who can average around 15PPG. 4 - With the Cavs acquiring Shaq, Otis Smith felt he had to make this move. 5 - Anderson gives you a nice young SF/PF who can space the floor. But having a slasher who can create his own shot will be nice. However, this deal rides on us being able to re-sign Hedo. I don't care how far into the luxury tax you go, if you can't re-sign Hedo, this deal isn't worth it, because you've given up 4 guys for him. I'm real worried that Portland and Sacramento are going to offer him $10M a season, and if they do, I don't think we'll match. But I also love the Shaq trade as a Magic fan. Why? Because I don't see him and LeBron co-existing for a whole season because their ego's are too damn big. This deal could blow up real big time for them. But I also love what the Wizards did getting Foye and Miller for the 5th. With those 2 and getting Arenas back, that should be a playoff team. So the East just got a whole lot deeper and harder. The Bulls may not make the playoffs next season when it's all said and done. How about a sig bet?
  7. are you in a 6 man league or something? Grab Garza like yesterday
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 11:18 PM) Why can't we just say that he's a Boras client with an expiring contract who hasn't been very good this season? you were the 1st to make those points.
  9. why don't you put up your own affiliate banner to stubhub? You do have the target audience for sporting events. Spread the word to ST members , if you are going to purchase tickets from stubhub, help ST out in the process by going through the stubhub banner on ST. Stubhub also has 60 day cookies .
  10. The cliff notes of points in this thread on why we should NOT trade for Ankiel would be pretty pathetic.
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 27, 2009 -> 11:01 AM) Here's a few things I've noticed in my drafts, and since I am done I will release my knowledge in case any of you have some late ones scheduled. Hilarious Post. Without touching Adenhart, I will disect the rest of this post almost 3 months later. (even though you already got your balls busted 2 months ago.) I agree with some of this, especially in a keeper league. Though, he has not busted out yet. Best catcher? LMAO . Maybe next year, but I still have a hard time believing he will catch Mauer within the next 5 years. ! So which one of those guys are a closer? 12. QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 04:45 PM) I guess that's where the "special" in Special K comes from huh? you didn't read the rest of his post? ahh... Forget it.
  13. QUOTE (HoosierSox @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 04:09 PM) Quentin/Beckam for Ankiel.Lol. That would be a horrible deal for the sox. He was Kidding. I hope he was Kidding about BA having a great year too.
  14. I like the idea. 1 Salary is right 2 His stock is LOW. We can probably get him for close to nothing 3 He is a left handed Pull hitter, which works well at our park Do it Kenny!

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 06:23 PM) You smell. I hope so, that means my nose is working properly.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 06:17 PM) I would do anything I can to get rid of Konerko and his salary. With his thumb issues and seemingly diminished bat speed, he's not going to put up the power necessary to be making as much as he is. I expect cash to be moved with most of our vets with our return being next to nothing. Not sure what that solves?
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 06:14 PM) The Sox are sellers. If we win and move onto the playoffs it will be because our young players play good. The team isn't going to win the world series and we'll be contenders as long as our starters pitch decently but that doesn't mean we should pretend and make short sighted moves. Kenny needs to be smart and now is the time to move some guys and get our youngsters some experience and who knows we'll still be able to compete and maybe make the playoffs and in that case, it'll be great experience for our youngsters. So do you suggest trading Thome,Konerko,Aj and JD for .50 on the dollar?
