  1. Has anyone else noticed that Lew Ford looks like Scotty Schwartz of The Toy, and A Christmas Story fame?
  2. Outside pitch Outside pitch Yeah, he got him, but we'll be down by 10 soon if he keeps this s*** up
  3. Outside pitch Outside pitch Outside pitch
  4. Outside pitch Outside pitch Outside pitch Outside pitch Horrible
  5. That's the 312th HR Loaiza has surrendered this season.....
  6. I'm guessing the Twins just realized that they don't need to make any improvements to win the division. And they're probably right.
  7. Another guy with a spike in BA on the first pitch is Joe Crede. He hits something like .411 on the first pitch. Makes me wonder why these guys don't have field days against pitchers like Radke--Guys who don't walk anybody who constantly throw first pitch strikes.
  8. I hope all of you are right regarding Anna Benson's husband, I really do. I still gots a bad feelin' though
  9. Um, I don't think security is going to allow this, but maybe Carlos will give you his home address?
  10. I don't think it will be that high. Benson is head and shoulders better than Lohse, Silva or Greisinger. On top of that, they add a 1B who can hit for power. It ain't going to be a fun couple months, I'm feeling.
  11. I'm inclined to think we're toast if this deal happens. Damn you, injury gods.
  12. Bingo. Benson is way better than Silva, Lohse or Greisinger, and to add to that they actually start using a 1B who can actually hit. I'm scared. C'mon Mets, make some stupid offer to overpay for this guy.

    My Letter

Not only does that line make you look like a whiny punk kid(which probably means they'll toss your letter in the trash), but it also shows a supreme lack of understanding of the English language. a "sad excuse of corruption?" That ain't making no good sense.
  14. If that deal with Pittsburgh goes through, I am not feeling good about our playoff chances.
  15. Tough call on Lidle, but I do like these numbers: Since 2001, Lidle in US Cellular-- 1.69 ERA Lidle vs Clev -- 3-3, 2.23 ERA, Opp BA .172 Lidle vs KC -- 2-1, 3.03 ERA, Opp BA .230 Lidle vs Minn -- 1-3, 3.93 ERA, Opp Ba .246 Lidle vs. Det -- 2-1, 3.96 ERA, Opp BA .225
  16. I don't think the need for another bat is nearly as important as getting another pitcher. With the pitching staffs we will face from here on out, we should have no problems scoring runs until Frank/Maggs gets back. However, I am not too confident about the abilities of Schoeneweis or Loaiza at this point. Captain Home Run and his sidekick, Sir Base on Balls, scare the crap out of me. And let's not forget we have a 3-man bullpen right now as well. Cotts can't get through an inning without walking 2 people, Jackson needs to be cut--fast, and Jon Adkins is on a 2 inning per month pitch count or something. We need another starter, or a long reliever much more than another hitter.
  17. Loaiza is to "Ace" what Carl Lewis is to "Classic Rendition of the Star Spangled Banner." Minnesota also has Radke and Santana going, and I believe Silva. This is going to be a tough series.
  18. Here is the world's biggest toilet, but hardly the best: http://www.digitalballparks.com/Wrigley_640_1.html
  19. Thank you. Shouldn't you be drunk somewhere, posting unintelligible crap about now?
  20. OK, I'm trying hard to not sound like a total jerk here but.... THANK YOU, MASTER OF THE OBVIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Well, we haven't seen the Tigers before tonight, so I went and looked up some things about their everyday players. For those unfamiliar with the mighty Detroit ballclub, here's a little stat analysis for y'all(based on probable lineup) 2B--Omar Infante--Bats .241 in night games vs .320 during the day. Hits better off LHP, but not bad against RHP(.263, plus a higher OBP). Only hitting .167 over the past week. No power whatsoever. RF--Bobby Higginson--His BA has dropped every month this season. Only hitting .208 on the road this year. SS--Carlos Guillen--Hitting .353 vs RHP. Hitting .330 on the road. Hitting .330 at night. The good news? BA in July is 30 points lower than any other month this season, only hitting .208 over the last week. C--Ivan Rodriguez--Although it's still good, his BA is lower vs RHP than LHP, lower on road than at home, lower on grass than on turf, lower at night than in day, and lower in open stadiums than dome stadiums. He is also hitting 30 points lower in July than in any other month. DH--Dmitri Young--Hitting .323 left-handed. Hitting .329 in July. One of few Tiger hitters that fares better on the road, at night, and on grass. LF--Rondell White--Hitting .242 vs RHP. Hits .324 on the road, but only .252 at night. Hitting .293 in July, after a sub-.200 June. 3B--Eric Munson--An overall BA of .220 with an OBP of .293. Actually worse vs. RHP than LHP. Hitting .189 on the road. Hitting .167 in July. In 3 out of the 4 months this season his monthly average has been below .223. 1B--Carlos Pena--Hitting .215 on the road, and only .183 at night. Batted .313 over the past 7 days, and every month his BA has gone up. CF--Brandon Inge--Batting .228 vs RHP, but hitting .363 on the road. Hit .190 last week, and only has a .167 BA in July. Next up, pitchers analysis???????
  22. If you're right, then it looks like we'll take 2 of 3! Loaiza........OUT!
