  1. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 10:52 PM) The NBA continues to be a joke. Mark Titus put his name into the NBA draft and the NBA threatened him to get him to remove himself from the draft process.

    LOST!!!!

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 02:24 PM) Time travel on shows is very difficult because every show has a different set of rules. Agreed, I've been trying to apply the back to the future rule to Lost and its been hurting my perception.
  3. Seriously, its the flu. The orgs are acting this way because nobody wants to have mud on their face if something unforseen happens ie Katrina where gov't are proven to be negligent. At the end of the day, people have stomach aches, diarrea and a stuffy nose.
  4. So, there is no correlation between pork, pork products, and pigs in general with the spread of swine flu, yet Egyptians killed 300k of them?
  5. QUOTE (djcollie03 @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 12:55 PM) IAs for other parking options, we sometimes park on 35th Street east of the Green Line. Not the greatest of neighborhoods but, no meters and I've never had any problems (tickets, break ins, etc.) over there. There are meters just east of the park now, but they end at 7pm. Just a little hint for my ST friends.
  6. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 01:40 PM) Right Field corner roast beef sandwiches. Enough said. 3B BBQ beef and pork sandwiches. Elotes.
  7. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 03:20 AM) Is anyone REALLY surprised we're in this position? As much as it sucks, you could see it coming a mile away once our joke of a roster was official. Joke of a roster? With Getz leading off and BA in center and batting 9th, I thought our roster was pretty damn good actually. Unfortunately injuries have tkent their toll already.

It just gets better and better.
  9. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 02:14 AM) A HS about a mile from here was closed today because a student has SF. Confirmed or someone went home sick withflu-like symptoms and they closed it?
  10. So, Week 4 update. About 1 in gone from waistline, and definately seeing some results. I think I've lost some size due to a little less "size" weight lifting in the program, but my strength for certain things like pull ups has improved.
  11. QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 08:39 PM) or of course never trade for Swisher in the 1st place. It was pretty sweet watching him hit 2 HR's tonight. 7 in the month of April.
  12. Oh and I leave for Mexico in two weeks. In case you were wondering, there is a better chance of my plane crashing than me actually dying from Swine flu.
  13. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 07:47 PM) "So... It's really THAT big?" "Yup, I tape it down this leg."
  14. Admittedly, PODS is a better hitter than Owens, but they both still suck.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 07:14 PM) Perhaps, she was just robbing the place. I thought that at first, until i realized she was pestering the check lady to find her more of them. It appears she went into walgreens and couldnt wait to purchase the mask before ripping open the package and putting it on. She apparently didnt feel very safe in there. I immediately thought about fake sneezing in her general direction, but thought better of it.
  16. Cook? Shelby? There has to be a better option. f***!
  17. QUOTE (Texsox @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 04:45 PM) What makes me think this is more serious is the death rate and that the current vaccinations seem to not be effective against it. The CDC published that basic anti-flu anti-virals have up to a 90 percent success rate preventing and treating this flu strain. The "death rate" is very subjective at the moment, not to mention its about as dangerous as the seasonal flu to people who are susceptible to that type of virus. If you are scared of the flu, I could see how this could scare you too. I seriously just ran into a lady at Walgreens wearing a face mask. Seriously, pick up some OJ, get some soup, and prepare for the "Outbreak"
  18. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 12:06 PM) The Canucks are a much better team than the injury depleted Flames. This matchup is much tougher. Knock the Sedin twins if you wish, but they each put up 82 points this season. Anyone remember the last 2 games we had against them this year and how they played in those games? They are great players. Add in the fact that Luongo is a much better goaltender than Kip, and this matchup is tough. I'd say they are deeper and more physical as well. This was a matchup I didnt want from the get go.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 05:58 PM) No Penalty for Rondo, Howard gets 1 game. HA! No brainer. Like the league was going to cripple the Celtics for even a game.
  20. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 01:51 PM) Of course the swine flu seems a bit more serious but like some of you said, wash your hands, shower and don't do anything stupid. What makes you think that its more serious? Its the damn flu, people die from seasonal flu every year, there would have to literally be 10's of thousands more deaths this year for it to even come close to seasonal flu. I dont see anyone freaking out about the flu, in fact some people even go to work with the flu. *gasp*
  21. QUOTE (3E8 @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 11:47 AM) Bring up Allen This. And if he hits the way he can, he may never go back down. I hope they do this instead of someone gay like PODS.
  22. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 04:21 PM) This board is weird. Its gone from BA sucks to "don't be hurt BA" in 2 minutes. You were expecting something on this board, especially in a game thread to actually make sense?
  23. QUOTE (Texsox @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 09:13 AM) As a MD friend of mine explained a couple days ago, the reason we have not had a worldwide flu pandemic in decades is this sort of "overreaction". We are forgetting the deaths that can occur from a new strain could be in the tens of thousands. You DO understand that around 50k people die each year of common seasonal flu right? So even if it was in the 10's of thousands it would MAYBE reach the pandemic levels of seasonal flu.
  24. His command appears bad which probabaly leads to aiming the ball down the heart of the plate. Sinkerballers need to trust their stuff.
  25. The refs really tanked last night, I'm betting the media from Boston's comments and articles really got into their heads. Anytime anyone touched Rondo it was a foul. Its really pathetic how bad the officiating swings due to coaches and media pressure.
