QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 18, 2009 -> 01:26 PM) Thanks for the info rock. I've heard from other people that this program really kicks your ass. My goal isn't to lose weight (6'3" 160 lbs, I could stand to gain a few pounds on my lanky frame) but to get stronger and just in better overall shape. It is made by Beachbody, so you WILL lose some weight by design. As for strength, it works for that as well, but it will be mostly lean muscle, not neccesarily size overall. Of course there will be a significant size increase for some of the muscles you havent really been working on before.

White Sox @ Blue Jays--Monday, May 18th

QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2009 -> 01:48 PM) Well, Ozzie's officially not trying to win games anymore. There's no excuse in the world to not bring Betemit in to hit for Fields. It's amazing how well he's handled our pitchers this year, and how comically bad he's been with offensive strategy. Walker owns that call. -

JD just fist bumped the ump when the ump gave the out sign. Clayton doing his best to keep the team in it, thats the best you can ask from him. 1 run over 7 against Toronto is unreal. Why is Betemit even on the team? Even a 10 year old xbox player would have pinch hit him for Josh in that inning. Walker is supposed to own the matchups for his hitters for Ozzie, he isnt doing his job. -
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 18, 2009 -> 10:40 AM) I agree, both look fixable and I think its more a confidence, tempo, minor adjustment to the mechanics type of deal (and I haven't seen anything glaringly wrong with either's mechanics). I wouldn't be shocked though if they did have a bit of an up and down year just given last years workload and the enormous expectations on both of there shoulders. Still, long term, I like them both a lot and I still think Floyd ends up having a big time second half of the season, but it might be all meaningless. Gavin's tempo has been messed up for several weeks now. Remember when he was the most ready in spring? The guy is WAYYY to eager. He is getting out in front of his pitches instead of on top and because of that his fastball either tails in on righties, or floats inside on lefties. Its killed his release point and his command. This was one of his major problems when came over from Philly. He needs to slow down, stay behind the ball and drive it.

I am starting week 6 this week because of my vacay in Mex last week. I may actually repeat a week since my time off set me so far back. My opinion: If you have the space in your home (doesnt take much) and the dedication, this workout will change you for the better. Here is the deal: its VERY hard. I am a good athlete and I still have trouble with the workouts, its supposed to be that way. If you follow the workout and at least eat well, you WILL lose weight. I dont follow the diet plan to a T since I have some different ideas, but within the first 3 weeks I lost about an inch on my waist. The key is to stick to it and really give it your all. if you half ass it or quit halfway through a routine a few days a week, you wont think its effective. I recommend using the bands as buying a bunch of different weights is expensive. Also the iron gym chin up bar is very cheap on amazon. You will be doing about 120 pullups each back routine and well over 200 pushups at times. I'll glady be part of a support group on here if people want to go through it together. I will tell you that I was very skeptical as I have been working out on my own for years just grinding away, and have seen the most immediate results with P90X. But once again, you HAVE to be dedicated and really give it your all each workout. Also its somewhat humiliating for people to see you doing this weird ass stuff in your living room, basement or whereever, but ignore them, they wont be able to do half the s*** you can do in a few weeks. You may start the yoga routine and say, wow this is stupid, but trust me, as you are pouring sweat onto the ground halfway through, you'll get it. Buy it, and bring it! informercial over.

Danks will get back on track more easily than Gavin. Gavin's problem is pretty obvious in that his tempo is all screwed up and he is letting his chest get out way in front of his feet which is killing his command. He needs to settle down and rework his motion a touch.

Good timing, just as this forum has gone to s***. At least now there is someone familiar with cleaning up crap....

QUOTE (Reddy @ May 12, 2009 -> 05:39 PM) tried doing bikram yoga on a consistent basis - that s*** beat me up. 100+ degree room for 90 minutes. By the end you're just dead. but it is really great. I just didn't have time/$$ for it at that point. maybe some day. There are ones at home that are free, kill you too. I didnt think it would do anything for me when I started p90, but I am much more flexibile and my core is much stronger. I can tell when playing sports that I have a larger range of motion and better balance.

Sox vs Tribe 5/12 @ 6:05 - CSN

What a surprise, the hitters see Richard more than once and all of a sudden he is hittable. -
QUOTE (Reddy @ May 12, 2009 -> 04:15 PM) actually i'm interested about the cost of eating healthy - does anybody have tips on getting good bang for your buck? I just graduated college and have no job - so i'm poor. but being an actor, i have to bulk myself up anyway, at least a little bit so i'm not so scrawny. how much per trip to the grocery store do you all spend, and how often do you go? Good tips: Find a fruit stand or vegetable store, the prices there are usually MUCH better than a Whole Foods or something like that. I also like to focus on foods that are cheap, but nutricious like eggs, oatmeal, yogurt and fruit. I go once a week, twice if i want to make something with fresh fresh or the like.
-
BTW, progress update on my P90x Week 5ish. Lost well over an inch on my waistline and have had to move my work belt in almost 2 notches.
-
To be honest, I would use a yoga day to work on your core as a whole including your lower back muscles as well.

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ May 12, 2009 -> 02:07 PM) Kaner's 2nd goal won that game for us. I know a lot of people would say Burish's goal...a 4th line goal, was the big one. But just look at Luongo after Kane tied it at 5. He had no way of stopping us. I think Rosenbloom said it best. Kane's 2nd goal was opportunity, Toews 2nd goal was luck and Kane's third goal was skill. Any way the Nucks wanted to play, the 'hawks played...and eventually beat them. I really don't think it matters who the 'hawks play because after destroying Luongo, they have the confidence to beat anyone. Even the Dead Wings. BTW, Luongo has NEVER allowed 7 goals as a Canuck. NEVER. In fact...the last time he allowed 7 or more goals were back-to-back games in 1999-2000: Luongo with the Islanders Toews 2nd goal was not luck, if it didnt deflect in Sharpie would have buried it. -

QUOTE (shipps @ May 11, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) The more and more I think about it the more I think he is going to get off the hook on this. The motherf***er doesnt look a bit worried and never really has. He has been a consistent arrogant cocky prick even up unto the arrest. He knows what ever he did he did it right adn there isnt anything they could have got from her grave 20 YEARS LATER that could put a bullseye on Drew. Typical of most Chicago Cops unfortunately. Its been proven time and time again they can get off even when the crime is caught on tape.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 12, 2009 -> 07:26 AM) Stella is not the mother on HIMYM. I'm wondering what running into her has to do with him finding the mother though. I half expected him to bump into someone as he was getting out of her car. Her husband was classic last night. I hope he is on for a few more episodes.

I really wish Allen would get a shot to at least check out some at-bats for the big club.

Nucks fans are completely blaming the loss on the refs. Canadians arent always as nice as they appear. -

Also, Kaner's comments on "old Willie Mitchell" were classic. Also when Kaner scored his 3rd goal the camera cuts over to Tallon who lets out a "Holy f***". -

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 12, 2009 -> 09:36 AM) I think Q was most happy with the play of Soupy Campbell as he pointed it out about three times during the press conference. Keith seemed to have a miserable game last night. I'd like a seven game Duck Det series to get him some rest. Byf's penalty was bad but he seemd to simply stiff arm the guy. Kind of offset the Eager penalty as that was a lucky one for the Hawks. Kane is 19. The future is quite bright if Huet earns his keep and Marty is resigned. Hey, someone pointed out Soup had a great series. I sure hope Keith gets his head out of his ass. My unsung hero of the series is probably Dave Bolland. Every time I looked he was digging a puck out of the corner, or pressuring the Sedins. He is truly a player that does the little things. His line was one of the most important pieces of beating both Van and Calgary. -
QUOTE (JustWin @ May 9, 2009 -> 09:46 AM) He's not better but he'll probably do so well that they don't even miss Aramis. Just like the luck they got with Jim Edmonds last year who couldn't buy a hit in San Diego but then all of a sudden was wonder boy for the Cubs. Freel will end up having a career year, watch. Ryan Freel hanging out in Wrigleyville is a recipe for disaster. The guy will be into the bottle in a week tops.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 8, 2009 -> 11:39 PM) If we insist on playing Nix, it makes too much sense to have him and Getz at the top. I have to admit, I have been surprised with how much I like nix.

QUOTE (JDsDirtySox @ May 8, 2009 -> 09:43 PM) At what point do pull the plug on this team and start a youth movement. June 1st? July 1st? Please don't wait until 2010. When its more than a month and a week through the season for god sakes.

Richard is a reliever. He doesnt have the stuff to get through a lineup more than twice. I would rather see us sign someone like Pedro, or bring up someone who is actually performing well as a starter in the minors.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 8, 2009 -> 04:03 PM) Tex, Why do you think that prices would increase? From everything I understand about the marijuana trade, the biggest cost to the consumer is risk. Most grow houses can start with less than $10k of capital and can churn out 50 + plants which can be harvested every 6-9 months. Those plants depending on strain and weight can in turn produce in excess of $1,000 of marijuana in each plant. (Im severely lowballing this estimate in that an high quality ounce can go for $350-400 and a single plant will most likely yield multiple ounces, unless your growing in a closet or trying to do some size limitation on the plant. A 3-4 foot tall plant can yield at least an ounce.) I know that people who drive from Cali to Illinois can be paid thousands of dollars just to be the "mule". Bottom line, There would be a massive increase in supply, demand would stay constant. Therefore prices should dramatically drop, my estimate is that street prices would be cut in half or more, and that the govt could easily tax it at something like 25% still making it cheaper for the end user. You should get quite a bit more than a few ounces from a plant of that size. But on the whole you are correct. I would estimate prices actually being similar to what they are now to be honest, and alot high quality and choice of product.
