White Sox versus Twins April 11th game thread 3:05, FOX

QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 12:21 PM) I would say Josh Fields is our best hitter right now followed by Paul Konerko Thanks, obviously it was a generalization on my half. I should have clarified with best lead off hitter. -
Why did Ryan Theriot decide to completely copy Aramis's batting stance? Its going to lead to him rolling over alot of inside pitches.
-
Why couldnt Logan Johnson be a player in the majors? He has hit as long as I've seen him play.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 02:55 PM) Delmas is a FS, not a WR. Whoops. My mistake. My point still stands that OSU has put the most players in the NFL in the last 5 years, and probably more than the entire MAC. I still pick Robo. -

Getz is the best hitter we have right now and we are resting him. Way to try to stunt his growth. -

QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 08:45 PM) Not sure if I'm in the minority here...but I'm happy with Jose's outing except for one stupid pitch to Crede (and the dumbass call of pulling in the infield). Jesus...the dude blew out his achilles and wasn't expected back til when...June or July? You arent. People are just frustrated that we are losing. He pitched pretty well for his first real start since completely tearing his achilles then getting back on the field 3 months early in 30 degree weather. He got his feel back gradually, and without his best out pitch. -

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 08:44 PM) I just tuned in, can you elaborate on how the ump f***ed up? What happened? extended an inning. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 08:44 PM) He seemed to get a good feel for his slider towards the end. He's going to have to start throwing that cutter to lefties though, as they were all over his fastball. One more outing or two and he'll be back. I was impressed by him tonight. Started out with no command, gutted it out and battled. There was maybe 2 hard hits by the Twins all game so far, he's been nickel and dimed to death not to mention the umps gave them a gift run. -

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 08:42 PM) Way to get out of it. I hope that's the end of Jose tonight. He's got at least an inning left in him and is improving each inning. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 08:40 PM) It's weird how little Contreras is throwing his forkball. That's the pitch he's made all of his money due to. Probably should pull him now and let him go out with a decent frame of mind. Its a feel pitch and its 30 degrees outside. Its not easy to make the skin on your hands mallable enough to get a good feel for the pitch. -

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 08:38 PM) I respect Jose for busting his a** to get back to this point, it has to be Richard. It looks like Jose has no command and his pitches have nothing on them nor movement. HA! If anything he has too much movement. He's given up 2 good runs tonight, the ump gave the twins a gift run. Jose is a much better pitcher than Richard, Clayton should stay in the pen where he belongs. -
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 03:59 PM) The lawsuit is inherently not frivolous if it cant be dismissed via summary judgment. Rock, Imo, the ticket doesnt cover this. And that is basically conceding that the ticket can actually prevent you from suing the Sox (which is up for debate.) 2 things. The disclaimer covers dangers associated with crowds. Also the judge is going to acknowledge that the party knowingly purchased a ticket to be in a large crowd of people and therefore put themselves in that situation under their own will.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 03:40 PM) How many people actually look at the back of their ticket and read the small print? Just because its on the ticket doesn't mean the ticketholder has to necessarily abide by those terms. Sure it does. Just because you dont read the fine print doesnt mean it isnt binding. They put that stuff onto the ticket specifically for lawsuits like this one. Not reading the contract doesnt make you not liable.
-
yes, but its in line with dangers of crowds, which is clearly stated as well. When you purchase a ticket you agree to all the T's and C's that are printed on the back of the ticket.
-
I deleted that post because I think post #37 pretty much sums up how far his suit will go.
-
And from the back of my printed ticket to a SOX game: You have the ticket, you have the fault.
-
Zambrano is 4+ ERA pitcher in the AL which could be a solid 3-5 guy. I think he floats between the extreme high end of the 3's to about 4.30 in the AL.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 01:50 PM) If Delmas and Robiskie are there, who do you go with? I'm hoping we get Holt so we aren't stuck at this point. If we get Holt, Delmas is the easy choice. Hell, even by getting Holt that means we don't have to go WR until round 4, and instead go DE then FS or vice versa in rounds 2 and 3. I probably go with Robiskie based on the level of competition and what I've seen from them. WR's in the MAC are very hit or miss, and Robo was very competitive with already successful NFL WR's when he was a freshman and soph along side of them. One thing you have to know about the MAC is only about maybe half of the teams actually play defense. -
There are cameras and records of activities that go on in the stands at the park for these reasons. They are kept for several years.

Homerism alert Ohio State has produced some damn good WR's over the last few years. Robo wouldnt be a bad pick for them if he falls. -
Good luck winning that suit. It will be hard to show fault.
-
Thats Barons roster has probably 7 or 8 future major leaguers in the batting order.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 08:35 AM) I remember back before that draft, my friend and I were co-hosting a sports talk radio show on our college radio station and were begging the Bers to take Leftwich. They didnt. Took Grossman... neither player panned out. oh well. I was too. I saw him first hand when he played againt us at Miami. Him and Pennington just threw the ball over around and through our team. I still remember them carrying Leftwich up to the line in between plays, that was amazing.

I see Viciedo getting some time at DH this season in the bigs actually. Big Jim will get hurt at some time and I think Dayan starts trying out his new position.
-
Could we be a few cold weeks away from seeing him?
