QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 11:23 AM) Well, I've long believed and stated that something's got to be wrong with Garland, what with his "knot' nonsense but if KW did this trade just because he thinks he's hurt, he deserves to be fired and there'd be serious consequences from the League, if they could prove it. It's just not something you do, however much everyone here wants to justify it as "they should watch out for themselves!" No. That's not what MLB says and that's not what the GMs themselves believe. Sorry to tell you, but most GMs don't like to deal with people who are just out to f*** everyone or DO f*** people with injured players. Yes you shouldnt knowingly f*** someone over, thats basic business ethics. But also everyone is out to make good for themselves over everyone else. You'll see for yourself if you ever go into the business world. Repeat business can still be achieved while winning a deal.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 11:21 AM) So, is Contreras starting on opening day or is Floyd? Buehrle again, followed by Floyd

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 11:19 AM) No no, didn't you know that any trade this team makes is supposed to fill EVERY hole on the team? If we trade for someone, its supposed to be a leadoff centerfielder who is the #5 guy in the pitching rotation that plays second base, and often comes in to setup Jenks or do general bullpen work!! Duh, O-cab filled a particular need for an overpaid player coming off a career year and beginning to decline with age. Yes!!!

Both fanbases are hoping to god something else is in the works.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 11:14 AM) Or if we KNOW he's hurt -- which I doubt, at this moment -- we don't trade him unless we've explicitly told them, "We're concerned about his arm" because that's the way it's supposed to work amongst GMs. Anyway, I don't want to spend the morning arguing about GM ethics. CABRERAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Its business, ethics really dont play a huge part, you are supposed to not be retarded and do your homework. It still didnt stop Jon from being a horse though, and now our pen better be extremely good, because they are going to get alot of work this year with unproven guys in the rotation.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 11:11 AM) So...given the state of our system, I think i'll be the first to ask this...what do folks think it will take to resign OC? I'd rather not and take the draft picks.
-
I just dont understand. We would be better off with Garland in the rotation then shopping him at the deadline to teams desperate for pitching. I dont like this at all. Cabrera is old and had an outlier season. If this money goes towards Hunter then we just made the team even older. I just dont get it.
-
We are saving lets say 4-5 million bucks if not more, but for what?

From angels board

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 10:56 AM) That's what it sounds like. Cabrera is 33 years old, and pitching has to be worth more than htis. You'd think. Kenny is a retard.
-
Oh and hes making almost 9 million this season. Yes!!!!!
-
nothing like trading a solild starting pitcher for a 33 year old SS with a paltry OBP. Wooo!!!
-
WTF? You have got to be kidding me kenny. If its a one for one swap we are f***ed.

QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 10:44 AM) I don't think anyone is going to beat out tOSU for the title for the next 3 or 4 years. The recruiting classes Tressel has lined up are incredible. Its going to be tough, right now we sit at about the #2 class in the country for next year, and still have several players that are targeted and have not signed including the #1 qb in the country. You never know though, recruits are recruits, they could always get the Charlie Weis syndrome. -

QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 10:45 AM) I'm not saying they are going to win the big ten, but they are improving.... Its great to see. Im a HUGE fan of coach Hep and had the pleasure to meet him while at Miami. Its great to see something he tried to build come about even after his passing. -

QUOTE(danman31 @ Nov 18, 2007 -> 09:18 PM) Indiana?! It's crazy enough they are going to a bowl game again, I don't know if I could take the craziness of them winning the Big Ten. Its nice to see IU going bowling, but its going to take alot to take down the big ten title. Especially in the next few seasons. -
QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Nov 18, 2007 -> 06:05 PM) DJ HACKETT - MOSS..... 147 yards today Shame on you Peanut. Peanut absolutely got schooled today. Trumaine McBride was the best db on the bears team today, and thats flat out sad.
-
Ron Turner and the defense, thanks for another loss. You are both pretty much worthless. Good game by Rex actually, he made due with poor protection and horrific play calls.
-
holy s***.
-
Does anyone think that Turner could beat them with him calling plays in Madden? He is the most deliberate, obvious, retarded play caller in the NFL. The guy is flat out predictable. His plays dont even match the situation.

Brandon McGowan put on his back, as usual.
-
Why wouldnt you throw the slant every time on the Bears? Its so easy.
-
How many college coaches are better offensive play callers than Ron Turner? Where the f*** has Wolfe been all season? Why not use him out of the backfield, as a receiver, do f***ing something Ron. You are the least creative coordinator I have seen this side of Shoop.
-
Is it NFL policy to fax your playbook over to the opposing team, or is that just something that Ron Turner does. Kreutz ends up 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage.
