  1. And now here comes the inevitable offensive line failure.
  2. Really Josh Brown? You took down a player smaller than you, congrats. The Bears D has so many holes. Tillman is just awful, he has given up about 170 yards already, both safeties misread almost every play and the d line still cant stop the run. We need about 45 picks in next years draft.
  3. QUOTE(Shadows @ Nov 18, 2007 -> 01:03 PM) Hooray! After his first two kick return touchdowns were called back, Ginn takes a punt back against the Eagles.. and whats even better is that they finally put Beck in and hes getting the ball to Ginn as a receiver too, something Lemon and Green weren't doing. They need to utilize his speed more. There really isnt a defensive player in the NFL that can match him step for step.
  4. The Bears defense is beyond terrible. You would think that Tillman would step up his game when he sees that Seattle is picking on him rather than a freakin rookie. The d line cannot stop the run whatsoever.
  5. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Nov 18, 2007 -> 11:56 AM) You look at Pierre's numbers and you wonder why was 2007 so dissappointing? Its pretty much right in line with his 2006. He's not ideal in any way, shape or form, but if the Dodgers want very little for him and will eat a lot of his contract, he's really not bad. I don't think many would have complained if KW signed him after 2006 to a contract that paid him $5 million a year or so. He plays everyday, and he actually can bunt. It would be my option E or F, but its really not that horrible of an idea, again depending on how much the Dodgers want to eat of the contract. Jerry Owens for cheaper sounds better to me, at least then when they start to suck you wouldnt feel as bad benching Owens.
  6. Just woke up from the Big Ten championship celebration. 3 titles in a row and the favorite for it next year. Nothing is better than dominating Michigan and forcing their coach into retirement. That was probably the easiest and least in doubt victory in the Tressel era. The battle of the RB's with ankle injuries was about as one-sided as it could be, and the big guys both on defense and offense pushed Michigan back all day. I think Jake Long had more sacks of Henne than most of the d line of OSU. Good bye LLLLLLoyd, this buckeye will miss you.
  7. Good bye lllloyd. I wouldn't draft jake long if I was an nfl team, cameron hayward threw him on his back all day.
  8. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 16, 2007 -> 01:01 PM) Its pretty weird. His first 21 hits were ALL singles, then all of a sudden his last few games he gets a bunch of doubles and a home run. Right? Doesnt it seem a bit strange? Like he was working on something.
  9. Looks like Sweeney picked it up a little. I hope he was working on his swing or something in the AFL because his SLG sucks beyond belief.
  10. QUOTE(KevinM @ Nov 16, 2007 -> 08:19 AM) I'd rather just keep the prospects and buy low on Luke Scott for LF. We need to keep these young talents. Yeah, you dont flip those prospect for Cabrera in that scenario. You keep them and use them for the future.
  11. The only time I deal Crede is if the Dodgers come a knockin after the angels get Cabrera. They have the mid level prospects that could make a deal come true.
  12. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Nov 15, 2007 -> 11:51 PM) Sad to see Oregon lose that way because of Dixon's injury, but Mizzou now controls it own fate. It's a nice feeling. Thats what happens when you have no defense. regardless they shouldnt have lost to a team that is as bad as Arizona. They arent even going to a bowl game.
  13. Is one of the other reasons that you cant afford it?
  14. QUOTE(G&T @ Nov 15, 2007 -> 06:45 AM) The Score reported yesterday that they were raising payroll to $115 or $120 million. They have to. About 5 players have enormous backloaded contracts that increase every year.
  15. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 15, 2007 -> 12:48 PM) I have no problem guaranteeing a reliever 2 years even at age 38. Not if we're in a position where we need a reliever, which we are. That's what, an extra $2 million? Big deal, we're spending more on Uribe for 1 year than we probably would on Herges for 2. It's not like a 2 year, $3-$4 million deal would hamstring this team even in the worst case. He blows his arm out and needs TJ surgery while signing the contract...D'Oh. It was such a small gamble that it really wouldn't kill anything. I wouldnt mind it either. Although id rather go after someone like Affeldt
  16. Ya, Soriano is brutal in LF, and his arm isnt even that great but he has one of the quicker releases in baseball which fools alot of third base coaches. Also the contracts are ridiculous. Even for bullpen help. How about a flier on Matt Herges who is only look for about 2 million.
  17. Thanks PH for the in depth review, Im sorry I missed that show. Im surprised they didnt have Buford and Sidney.
  18. Tucson is awful compared to the areas in phoenix. Even mesa's facility isnt nearly as good as some of the ones near Peoria and Glendale.
  19. QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 10:21 AM) lol, and with that said OSU better beat UM because I want ILL in a new years day bowl. On that topic, did anyone see the Michigan v OSU documentary on HBO last night. It was amazingly done, but left out a great chunk of some of the late 90's teams highlights and coaching stories. Lloyd Carr wasnt even mentioned. Great show though, had me in goosebumps.
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 09:54 AM) I really hope the strike doesn't screw up this season. Its bad enough waiting 9 months for an episode, if the strike disrupts the 16 weeks, it might ruin the show for a lot of people. These massive breaks are ruining it enough as it is. Prison Break till freakin Jan now.
  21. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 09:55 AM) Illinois has played OSU tough the past, what, 5 years? There is no way that OSU wins big. They would probably win, but not big. What happened last year? 17-10. That's what. Sorry Rock, but I honestly think that OSU would have won, but they would have squeeked by, like they have in the past. Some teams have a nemesis, a team they find it very hard to beat, and for OSU, it's Illinois. Ok, I agree on the wins big, in fact I wasnt aware I was typing that. Considering I bet on ILL, and won pretty big, I obviously didnt think that way. But they are the better team, and flat out got beat. It happens, and in no way am I trying to discredit the performance by ILL.
  22. QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 09:40 AM) I don't think Illinois dominated in the true sense of the word, but Rock you're essentially saying Illinois got lucky which is complete crap. Yes the played a perfect game, and yes OSU played uncharacterisically bad. But why did they play so bad? Maybe because they actually went up against a good defensive line that applied pressure all game long? How many times did the QB scramble? Didn't he have a career long run and a career rushing day? That's indicative of Illinois' ability to penetrate the line of scrimmage. Your UNforced comment is true only in the sense that no one stripped a ball - but they were all caused by playing good defense and applying pressure on the QB. And really, though they didn't dominate the entire game (because they did give up 3 td drives of 76 yards), there's no question they dominated the 4th quarter. They held the ball over 13 minutes in one quarter. That's sick. And it's not like they got lucky - they ran down the throat for 260 something yards on a defense who averaged only 65 yards per game on the ground. The team knew they were going to run it yet Juice still got first downs on a 3rd and 10, 3rd and 7 and I believe a 3rd and 5. Ohio State got outplayed, outcoached and simply lost the game to a better team on Saturday, period. Oh Jeez. Just when everyone stopped. You really really think ILL is the better team? You really do? Illinois ranks 8th in the Big Ten in total offense. You really think that ILL's powerhouse offense just overwhelmed the best defense in country unlike the 5 better offensive teams in the big ten that OSU beat and beat badly? You think that Ill's defense was just so overpowering for OSU that the QB with the highest rating in the big ten couldnt handle it? Come on man. Ill played about the best they can play and OSU had their worst game of the season. Bar none, they both play their game, OSU wins big. They didnt, and some of the reason is that ILL game planned very well for them, but alot of it was their personal errors and coaching on both ends of the field. Im sorry if you feel that is a negative comment towards ILL, but frankly they won, and they get bragging rights. But I dont think there are many people around the country who will make a mistake and say that the best team won.
  23. The Rays dont need to deal Crawford so they would only do it if they get an overwhelming package. To me that means Hill, Soto, Marmol, and prob either Veal or Colvin
  24. As if I couldnt like Matta any more than I actually do, I love the way he handled last nights game. As much as he wanted to win, he was basically trying out combinations of players on the floor to help solidify his rotation for the regular and big ten season. I like that philosophy especially when most of your team is new to playing each other.
  25. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 09:16 PM) i hear ya. i do normally root for osu, but my illinois loyalty comes first and i was in the stadium in orange saturday. this week has me all discombobulated when it comes to my fandoms. and i do know you were joking on posting the video. no worries, there.
