  1. QUOTE(Yoda @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 08:50 PM) Took the words right out of my mouth. Don't fix it if it's not broken. How bout VaFan understands the game a little bit. Highest OBP, bat him 3rd. Thome, much higher OBP. He is a prototypical 3rd place hitter. Bad idea dude. PLus its no mistake Dye is having a career year batting 5th behind Thome and Kong.
  2. Lets win, please. Also I heard today that the injuns were planning on playing Hafner at 1st in interleague. That should be an adventure.
  3. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 04:29 PM) So when does redandwhite drop by to tell us how this was a coup for the Sawx and we picked up their garbage and they got a diamond in the rough to help them climb over the top of the mountain. i'd give it until gametime. Once he tells us how washed up Riske is, and how lopez really makes them stronger, you know its a good trade for us.
  4. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) That is the girl from laguna beach i assume It looks like the annoying girl from LB
  5. He forgot Marte for Mac And A-row gio and haig for thome.
  6. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 02:18 PM) back to back grannies by the twins, both by lefties. they need help now. isnt there better help out there than Javier Lopez? There has to be.
  7. QUOTE(Felix @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 02:10 PM) The sad thing is, when I go to Pittsburgh, I'll be staying in one of their rooms (mainly because their prices and most hotels in the area don't let people under 21 check in, and I'm 18). Naturally, I won't be in the room much for anything other than sleep, but still.. yeah, they blow. I dont know about you guys, but im skeptical here. Why would Theo trade for a guy he has already had, and gave away for nothing, who has had no success at the big league level. Also he traded one of his more successful bullpen arms for it. When a trade seems this one sided, im very skeptical and why Riske's price was so low.
  8. England looked good for 5 min, lets see if they can extend that next match.
  9. QUOTE(Felix @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 01:56 PM) That commercial is so bad I want to punch him when he says multitasking. PLus those rooms just remind you how s***ty their motels are.
  10. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 01:37 PM) yeah sorry for declaring the wrong message Rock, my bad. The Red Sox probably initiated this deal, another plus for the white sox....a very deep system.
  11. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 01:34 PM) Oh joy.. a WSI bashing thread :headshake Reeks of a locking
  12. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 01:33 PM) the opposing team never gives praise to a departed player, its the code of fans. No, they are saying its a bad trade for them. Check it out. Alot of them are worried because Lopez sucks compared to Riske in their careers.
  13. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 01:31 PM) Semicolons seperated independant clauses. The semicolon in questiopn seperates "Riske acquired for Lopez" and "Tracey optioned to Charlotte." Alright boys, if I wanted to sit in an english class today, I would have applied to school, written a check and sat in my seat. Turns out, I didnt.
  14. Im still worried about his back. Bad backs+pitchers=DL SOSH seem to not like this trade much.
  15. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 11:32 AM) thinking out loud are we..... I gotta tell you, a pitcher with a suspect back? SOunds like Hermanson to me.
  16. Lopez was dominating in AAA I seem to remember Riske being a bit risky in the later innings though. Maybe in 04?
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 09:55 AM) Yeah, like AJ wasn't doing the same damn thing last night and has been quite a bit lately. It's not just Widger, this whole damn pitching staff seems to be living on the outer half. See: Jon Garland, Tuesday.
  18. I do not agree with your assesment at all Kalapse. In fact I dont even want to start a debate because its obvious you are upset about last nights game, especially upset about Tracey. Ozzie is one of the best managers in the game putting trust in young players, and putting them in situations where they have a chance to succeed and earn a spot. Calling him otherwise is just misplaced frustration.
  19. WIth the widge catching, I wouldnt be surprised if mark is living on the outside corner most of the game.
  20. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 08:22 AM) I'll be at sundays game. is that who i think it is in your avatar?
  21. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:13 AM) I said it before and I'll say it again. IMO Ozzie Guillen is similar to Dusty Baker when it comes to handling young players, he completely demoralized Tracey today possibly mentally f***ing the guy for years to come. WHoa, whoa, whoa. HOW so? What young players has he done this to? He has been nothing but supportive of Anderson during his run at CF, and has come out publically and said hes his CF'er. With Jenks he has done the same thing, and even made it a point to console him after a blown save. Who are these young players you speak of?
  22. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 04:41 PM) Wouldn't we rather have the less-mobile, higher-power guy in LF and put Ichiro in RF? I was talking about in the lineup Ichiro Gooch Thome Kong Dye AJP Crede Uribe BA
  23. who would bat lead off? We arent going to go back to all mashers like before. Fields is blocked, and it will prob stay that way for a little.
  24. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 08:46 PM) Or you could stop blowing sunshine out of your ass, either one. How did you feel after Hunter took out Burk? Did you think the Sox were demoralized? This is the same damn situation, this game is incredibly mental and a rough mental patch like this can kill a team's spirit. I dont think a hit batter can crush a teams spirit, it actually made them more pissed off. Padilla is just getting 3 inches on each corner and is hitting the spot with ease. Theres really nothing we can do about that right now.
