  1. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 12:02 PM) One computer company that no one ever talks about is e-Machines. I love their computers. LOVE them. But, next time I get a computer, I am building my own. That Cisco Certification class I took sophomore year helped a lot! That security device and network class helped you that much on building a personal PC?
  2. The bears are going to put him on his back so many times this year, its going to be awesome.
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 03:04 PM) Well, then I guess we can go back to the question...where would the team and the teammates be without that player? Jordan never won MVP awards in his latter years despite being the best player by far, he only won them early, when he was carrying his team into the playoffs. Once Pippen had really developed, Rodman was added, Kukoc was found, etc., Jordan stopped winning them. I think the best argument for Nash is probably what happens to the people around him when you subtract him. Yeah you move Lebron or Kobe out of their teams and both of them are terrible, but the other people on the team seem like they'd play at the same level. You pull Nash out of his team, and everyone around him becomes massively worse. Im not going to argue that Billups should be the MVP. My vote goes with Nash or Kobe personally. I just think its stupid to discount someone's value, just because his team kicks everyone else's ass. In some sports, the best player on the best team gets the most consideration for MVP, for some reason in basketball, its not the case.
  4. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 03:02 PM) No. Look at it this way: The Pistons wouldn't have been hurting that much without Billups, with that supporting cast. However, the Suns, Lakers, and Cavs would have been royally f***ed without Nash, Kobe, or Bron. Once again, the talent of the players around someone makes them less of a player?
  5. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 03:01 PM) No Chandler?? There's always next year?? Blame Canada. He has been "makin b****es look stupid"
  6. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 02:59 PM) Wallace, Wallace, Prince, and Hamilton are not that awful. SO a player's status gets penalized because he has good players around him? By default then, the MVP should be the best player on the worst team?
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 02:55 PM) He also had more talent around him than any of the others. Nash included. More talent, or players who play together? Detroit really plays the game well, its assinine that because they are good, nobody on their team could be MVP. Jordan was surrounded by some of the best talent, does that make him not as good?
  8. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 09:04 AM) Its crazy to me how many Kobe haters are out there. Personally, he's the only reason I will EVER watch the NBA. The guy is damn good, regardless of what anyone thinks of him as a person. Not that many people like rapists, generally speaking.
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 02:40 PM) It was a 3 horse race IMO between Nash, Kobe, and LeBron....and you really could have gone with any of the 3 and I couldn't argue. Why dont you consider Billups to be on that list? He was on a team that out performed every one of the others.
  10. QUOTE(gsoxs1 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 02:13 PM) DirectTV sucks. The audio is awful must of the times. There are times like last nigth they dont show the start of the game cause of the CUbs post game. I would not get it. I want to switch once my contract is up. I do have to say the NFL package is great. But it makes me mad when I have to miss Sox games. The game was like that because the start of the sox game was on WCIU. it was like that on cable as well.

"That dog's got fleas!" I feel like you dont know what I was talking about, and decided to try and make a point with someone else's opinion on how to make money. Of course a lower stock will make you more money, it will usually change and double faster. I have owned Sirius stock for a long time now. Heres an example of what I meant, which should be easy to figure out: Pepsi: trading at 57.86 John's Pop: 3.2 which company would you say is more stable at the moment? IM glad you abandoned the beta vs VHS argument, i'll give you a pass on that one.
  12. Umm, the only problem is that they fired all the hot ones and hired a bunch of below average females. It used to be about T and A, it seems that someone complained and ruined it for everyone.
  13. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 12:57 PM) Do you get the HD Comcast Sports channel? How about WGN? I get all of the HD channels, basically every channel and the MLB package. I used to hate comcast, but I really like it now.
  14. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 09:36 AM) Good investment for the Jays. This guy makes Kerry Wood and Mark Prior seem like the healthiest people on earth. Holy s***, what if this s*** was career ending? OMFG that would go down as one of the worst deals ever made.
  15. QUOTE(MEANS @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 06:21 AM) and pc's remind me of the cubs, always falling apart. always in the shop i.e. disabled list....and a large brainwashed following. All technology is made to break, computers are one of them. As far a brainwashed? Would that mean that most people who own a car are brainwashed? Its like saying, people and businesses who are using something they need to function and make our world work are brainwashed. Come on hater.
  16. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 10:14 PM) I'll send you mine....damn things keep falling out. Seriously though, anyone else have troubles with them as you move your head? They just fall out.... They dont fit me either, i have the sony behind the ear ones. They are much better.

QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 09:32 AM) o & a can't hold Stern's jock. As for XM, I'm sure its a nice product. But by end of year 2006, Sirius will have more subscibers. This is going to be a Beta vs VHS type of matchup. Hahahahahahahaahha I hope you are kidding with both points. They are the same service, even Stern and whatever dumbasses they trot on the radio wont cause either service to lose that many customers. Its all about coke and pepsi. With every Tony (stern fanatic) there are 10 who havent ever listened to him. His presence honestly makes no difference to me at all. I got xm for the sports, and thats it. BTW, beta and VHS are two different technologies, not exactly comparable. While Xm is trading at 22, Sirius is at 4.83. I would say that XM has the better holding power at the moment.
  18. QUOTE(valponick @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 09:20 AM) This is probably a stupid question but I have Comcast cable right now (absolutely hate it) and we'd like to switch to a dish. Can I still get the games on CSN with the dish? I'd like to switch to Direct TV so I can get the NFL ticket, so if anyone that has Direct TV can help me out and let me know what I need to order to be able to still watch the Sox I'd appreciate it. Val, If you are in the chicago Area channel 640 will give you the sox games, and 639 is their backup station. If you are out of the area you will need to purchase the MLB package. Word of warning however: I loved directv for the time I had it, but since i've switched to Comcast, it really is the better service IMO for HDTV, on demand, etc. They are both good though, and you will be happy with either.
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 08:12 AM) And completely fooled one of the best baserunners in the game in Ichiro to get to the ball... and then Brian finished by doubling him off of first. The guy can play some defense. He gets excellent reads on the ball, and takes great routes as far as I have seen so far. Ah, so you knew exectly the play I was talking about. All I could think was that Rowand would have had one of his classic play too deep plays, and let it bloop in front of him. Anderson covers ALOT of ground, even though it doesnt appear hes running that fast.
  20. Observations from last night's game: AJP is using his old hitting approach of trying to hit singles to the opposite field lately. This is helping his batting average as well as make RBI opps for crede. Crede is playing GG defense so far this year, if he keeps this up, there is no way he cant be seriously considered. After Dye's 2nd HR is looked like he and Gload were having a little argument in the dugout which was covered by the CSN cameras. Anyone else see this? PODS seems to be back on track which is nice, especially with Gooch, Thome, Kong, and Dye raking right now. Logan picks up garbage innings at this point, nothing more. Ozzie did a great job of pulling his starters last night, especially using Gload and Widger as pinch hitters, they both could use some work at the plate. Vaz looked nasty last night, as long as AJ catches him, this is what I expect out of him every night. When our offense is clicking, its scary. Its hard to believe how much of an impact Jim Thome has had on every hitter in this lineup.
  21. Anderson caught a shallow fly ball last night that Rowand never would have had, that should have shown you his value.
  22. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 11:11 PM) I think Thorton might be hurt though. Annnnnnd where would you get that from?

I do this kind of thing to directv all the time too. Crazy bastards.
  24. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 02:47 PM) I sort of see the same thing with the Yankees/Mets, since the majority of people here are fans of both those teams. Even those fans however don't seem to hate each other. Its strange, back when the Mets sucked, every Yankee fan I know hated them. But now that the Mets are getting big names on their team (I think getting Pedro started it all, strangely enough), more and more of the Yankee fans I know are claiming that they like the Mets too (even though previously stating their hate for them). After they do that, they've basically lost talking privileges to me about baseball.. I was just at a Mets game last week, there is pretty obvious Yankee hatred there. They even showed highlights when the yankees were losing.
