  1. Pronk has to be one of the gayest nicknames out there.
  2. If they were smart they would call the game asap.
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 2, 2006 -> 11:03 AM) Yes, Buehrle having nothing at all had nothing to do with 3 runs being scored. Obviously he does, but you gotta wonder why this is the case.
  4. its just a pull. IM sure 1 or 2 days off should be fine.
  5. First inning, away, away, away, hit. Seriously, how come every time widger catches, the other team scores 3+ runs?
  6. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 2, 2006 -> 10:06 AM) I'll take my chances with Widge instead of completely taking Mark off his game if you slow him down. It really doesnt slow him down. You look at the dugout, get the sign, show it, pitch. I would rather have that, than have Widger's away, away, away, away, away, hit.
  7. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 2, 2006 -> 10:04 AM) I don't. It'll completely take Mark out of his rythem. Widger calls a s***ty game. If he is calling the pitches, mark will give up 3+ runs.
  8. According the sabathia's career stats. He is tougher on RH batters.
  9. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ May 2, 2006 -> 10:02 AM) We will probably see the calls coming from the dugout again today with Widger and Buehrle as the battery. god I hope so.
  10. Well I think Ozzie said, f*** you CC, how would you like to face 9 RH batters.

    Lease vs buy

After years of owning cars, im thinking seriously about getting a lease on my next one. I like to get new cars every 3 years or so, and buying them seems more expensive than leasing. What are your thoughts on both?
  12. The regulars need rest. Thats why the lineup is like this. We have had a short turnaround, and we need them for this homestand. We should beat up on the next two teams we face, and we need to capitalize on playing the weak teams.
  13. OMFG. Baseball tonight last night. They interviewed Larry Bowa, asked him what it was like to be in the middle of the whole thing. They couldnt find a bigger rivaly outside of theirs either. f***ing stupid.
  14. I hated that skin yesterday, are we going to be able to keep this one if we choose?
  15. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 2, 2006 -> 08:14 AM) Jerry or Charlie? whoops, brain fart.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ May 2, 2006 -> 08:06 AM) I can't see Garcia getting traded, as long as Ozzie is our manager. From a business and best for the ballclub scenario, Freddy will be the first to go. I think that Ozzie knows that. We were close to dealing him this offseason according to KW.
  17. QUOTE(SoxAce @ May 1, 2006 -> 11:51 PM) Damon and Thome are very similar. Both are good guys in the clubhouse, have good charities and really help children, both basically said they would have to rip/pay a million bucks to leave their respected teams (Thome saying he'll never leave Cleveland and Damon saying he'll never play for the Yankees) both taking more money to go somewhere else (NOONE can blame them, gotta take care of the family) both playing for rival teams, and both getting booed by their old teams (Thome having horrible signs from the fans and Damon getting dollar bills thrown on the field by the fans.) Not really. The Red Sox did want Damon back. Shapiro was quoted saying that Thome didnt fit into their future plans. To appease the fans they gave him an offer, but it wasnt realistic or market value for a player Thome's caliber. He was basically forced out, and was hurt because of it. Jerry Manuel even said that leaving cleveland was tough on Jim.
  18. Sprains hurt worse than breaks. They are very painful, especially when he landed like he did. I have permanent dammage in both ankles from "spraining" it just like he did. Its more painful than you think.
  19. QUOTE(mr_genius @ May 1, 2006 -> 10:48 PM) true but i want to see him consistently steal some bases on a catcher that has actually thrown someone out (the indians catcher totally blows). A hit is a hit, and sb is an sb. He did it, and seriously has fueled this team on our current streak. Scottie got hot, and so did the sox. The guy influences this team more than stats show.
  20. QUOTE(Beltin'Bill @ May 1, 2006 -> 09:49 PM) At risk of getting tomatoes and banana peels thrown at me.... Despite Pods' big game at the plate and on the base paths, I contend he almost cost the WS this game. His nonchalant drop of a rather routine fly ball led to the Indians first run. Although it was only one run, it caused the inning to drag on substantially. Vazquez's pitch count was too high for him to come out in the 7th and we all know how the rest of the game went. I might be nitpicking, but Pods needs to be more focused in LF. His play really changed the momentum of the game and may have given the Indians a better outlook for tomorrow's game. Step it up Scotty! Scotty did have 4 sb's tonight and played a huge part in scoring runs and really setting the tone for the game. He made an error, its going to happen again many times this season, and the same for the rest of the team. Picking out a small negative in an otherwise positive game for PODS is pretty ridiculous IMO.
  21. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 1, 2006 -> 10:18 PM) Attendance isn't a particularly valid way to judge a team or even its fanbase, I don't think. White Sox and Attendance -- ring a bell? That said, I was surprised but only mildly so. I thought it hurt him when I first saw him, but hey, he hurt them when he left, I'm sure. Breaking up is never easy. 17k is pretty lousy though. Even we would have drawn more than that with defending champs in town. Especially a division rival.
  22. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 1, 2006 -> 08:58 PM) Rock, I remember Maggs getting booed and I bet Frank will too. Maggs left for more money. I will never boo Frank Thomas. Even if he bashed the team and the owner and the GM. Thome never did any of that. Their owner came out and admitted that he didnt fit in their plans. He even still makes his home in the crappy city. Shame on them.
  23. What im going to take from this game, is the classlessness of Cleveland Indians fans. Booing a player for being forced out by ownership is just plain trashy. He loves Cleveland, he still lives there, he carried your team for years, and is genuinely one of the nicest guys in baseball. Shame on you red neck bastards.
