  1. Classles actions by Indians fans. This guy was basically not re-signed by your club, he carried you for many seasons, is one of the best guys in baseball and still makes his home in your city, which is one of the worst cities in America. Seriously, f*** you cleveland fans. Classless.
  2. I always think that the home Pinstrips and the black alts are the best.
  3. QUOTE(soxhawks @ May 1, 2006 -> 03:23 PM) It is tough to find a third baseman, and he may not have the numbers an outfielder puts up, but for his position he plays solid defense and is becoming a big league hitter and should be a top 10 third baseman by years end if not already. He is a serious contender for the gold glove this year. Especially if he keeps hitting. He is going to cost alot more than 5 million a year IMO. 3B in MLB Salaries Blalock 3 million Ensberg 3.8 million Cabrera 472k Lowell 9 million Chavez 9.5 million Mueller 4.6 million Mora 4.3 million Glaus 10 million David Bell 4.7 Inge 3 million Aramis Ramirez 11 million So there are a few that are soon due for bigger paychecks like Mora, Cabrera, Blalock etc. But I think around 5-6 million a year should get it done IMO.
  4. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ May 1, 2006 -> 02:22 PM) i, too, fear the Tigers. They've got speed, decent power, some vets. Shelton won't keep this up all season, but Pudge, Magglio and Dmtri can hit. I don't think Bonderman, Verlander and Maroth will keep this up for an entire season. But we have to stay healthy -- and get a bit more from Pods, BA and Uribe. Dmeathook cant hit. Maggs can, Pudge kinda can without the roids. Shelton is already slowing down, and their best pitcher right now is Maroth for god sakes. They are baltimore of 2005.
  5. Long-term planning May 1 - According to the Daily Southtown, Joe Crede understood why the White Sox offered him a one-year deal over the winter: to avoid arbitration and make him prove the two herniated discs in his lower back would hold up. While Crede is eligible for arbitration again this offseason, the third baseman is hoping for a deal with a bit more security. "If they wanted to sign me to a one-year deal, then I'm happy with that," Crede told the newspaper. "You would like to have the security there, but they didn't offer me it. I'm not going to sit around and cry about it. Hopefully, someone out there will pick me up or sign me, but I would love to play here. This is where I would love to end my career." Oh and Joe Borchard is being looked at by the Marlins.
  6. Baseball tonight last night pushed the sox highlights to the end so they could boner up about this series. Its not really that exciting, neither team is really looking impressive at this point. s*** the Yankess and Red sox would be 3rd and 4th in the central right now.
  7. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 1, 2006 -> 01:44 PM) The Twins pitching has been horrid, but they do have hte arms. Right now I'm the most scared of the Tigers. There young pitching is developing faster than expected and the bullpen has held up thus far (especially Rodney). They may just have the best offense in the AL. Their pitching isnt really that good. They have played pretty crappy teams other than us, and we swept their asses. Their bullpen sucks, their closer is horrid, and their offense is like us in 2001-2004.
  8. QUOTE(Sox1422 @ May 1, 2006 -> 01:07 PM) My girlfriend said the same thing a couple of months ago when she first saw him. I think Anderson looks like the kid from the Incredibles. Dash, I think? With long hair he looks like one of the bad guys from Die Hard.
  9. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 1, 2006 -> 12:48 PM) ooooooor he is hung like a bear. Smokinghotcrazy, that girl is. She must not mind jailtime either, or she is just as dense as she is hot. Her pathetic attempts at contacting the kid are so easy to find out. Shes a dumbass, or another believer of the "act like a dumbass" brand of women that we are seeing more and more of these days. Not that im opposed to that. Oh, and my dog is way cooler than yours.
  10. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 1, 2006 -> 09:27 AM) Her face ain't all that, I wasn't expecting that nice rump though. Where was she when I was in school. Obviously she has some low self esteem or something of the sort to continue to seek love and admiration from this kid even after getting in trouble.
  11. And the loop is full.
  12. im in downtown chicago, and I will report on the protest as it goes on.
  13. QUOTE(wcw2323 @ Apr 28, 2006 -> 08:16 PM) Charlie Haeger (2-0) continues to dazzle at Charlotte! Haeger again showed his poise and confidence by shutting down Ottowa tonight. 7 innings pitched, 1 run, 0 earned runs. This kid should be 4-0 or 5 -0, Charlotte has won every time he has started (5 times). He has given up 5 runs, 2 earned in 35 innings. He leads the IL in innings pitched, and ERA! Not bad for a 22 year old! This kid has performed at every level and could be in Chicago by mid-season as a long reliefer. The best thing that could happen is to be traded and he could step into a rotation as a #4 or 5 starter. What does everyone else think? I dont see us bringing up a knuckle baller for middle relief. Its just not in the cards.
  14. love it.
  15. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 05:01 PM) He wanted to pound the outside half of the plate it seemed, and as DJ and Hawk kept mentioning Garland was at his best last year when he was pounding the inside half of the plate. Hopefully this changes throughout the year Thats the same game plan he used with Javy when he got rocked against the Jays. He is almost scared to make the pitcher throw inside. Finally after 4 innings of away, away, away, he finally started to come inside a bit.
  16. QUOTE(knightni @ May 1, 2006 -> 02:52 AM) I want him to not cough it up to the Mariners. Im going to assume you are kidding. ALso Crede is playing All-star baseball. If he keeps this up, he should be an all star no doubt.
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 04:14 PM) 1. The Widge >> You 2. 17-7 April just like I predicted. I still think he called a pretty s***ty game behind the plate at times today, but he made up for it at the plate.
  18. contreras is the best pitcher in the MLB, who wants to debate that?
  19. QUOTE(ShoeLessRob @ Apr 29, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) I think Pods is remembered better because no one would have said. "Watch Pods is going to homer." I and I'm sure hundreds others said, "I'll bet you Konerko grandslams right here." the guy behind me at the park said it, and I cursed him out for about 2 min.....Then he hit it.
  20. Go f*** yourself Weaver. Nice win by the guys, pitching looked sketchy, Thome with the sobrero, but everyone else, great job. JD, player of the game IMO.

Yeah, but the dudes with the better cups went home with the hottest broads.
  22. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 28, 2006 -> 02:46 PM) I think you're right, but my problem is that I honestly get tired of the same boo-hoo crap from her probably twice a week. I don't know how to be a friend to her about it. Thats the thing, sometimes you just have to lay down the law. Tell her your point of view, and tell her that the coddling will stop, and that she needs to make a choice. Sometimes thats what it takes. Of course leave that up to your own discretion. But I have a friend who was getting beaten by her boyfriend, and it took us stopping our friendship for her to finally snap out of it.
  23. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 28, 2006 -> 02:32 PM) Help. What advice would you give to a woman who is involved with someone who she shouldn't be involved with? My (female) friend is single, he is married. He of course continues to string her along with the usual BS that he's 'in the process'' of leaving his wife. This has gone on for years. She is an otherwise extremely bright person, who has fallen deeply in love with a sumbag. How can someone so frickin bright be so frickin stupid? I suppose with matters of the heart there is no bright or stupid, we just fall in love, or am I making excuses for her? I have on a few ocassions told her to wake up and realize that the relationship will never happen. Mostly though, I just let her cry on my shoulder. I'm torn between telling her that I don't want to know anything else about this particular part of her life, but I feel like that's not what friends do. What would you do? People like that never figure it out, until they figure it out. Its a life lesson she has to learn by herself. I was in a relationship for many years where people would tell me it was no good, and that I should get out, but I never saw it for what it was until I did it myself.
  24. That pic is boner-rific
