From behind enemy lines
why is everyone saying Wells isnt that great. The guy changes speeds and throws a good curve. These are exactly the pitchers we have had trouble with. Clement with his slider and fastball, doesnt change speeds much, Wells will. Not to mention Mark sucks against the Red Sox.

Aaron Rowand's Playoff Journal
QUOTE(kevin57 @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 07:42 AM) AR's offensive numbers of late have not been impressive, and it would really, really be helpful if he became a Mr. October for us. That said, His defensive efforts don't fail, and his attitude makes him a Sox favorite. i still think we should trade him though.

Ortiz's season
This thread doesnt mean anything anyway. A-rod is more valuable to his team. His offensive numbers are better and he plays defense.

Charles Roger
Lions' Rogers to be suspended for substance abuse ESPN.com news services Detroit Lions receiver Charles Rogers has been notified that he is being suspended for four games because he is in violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy, sources have told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. The suspension could be announced this week unless Rogers appeals, the sources said. Under the policy, Rogers' suspension means he has had at least three positive tests of an illegal street drug. A fourth positive test will result in a minimum one-year suspension. Rogers was unavailable for comment, as was his agent. Rogers was the Lions' first-round choice in 2003, the No. 2 overall player chosen in the NFL draft. That year, ESPN reported that Rogers was flagged by the NFL's medical advisor when he provided a diluted urine sample at the NFL Scouting Combine before the draft. The result placed Rogers in the substance abuse program, which made him subject to random testing.

Congrats from the Cubs
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) Steve Bartman, wherever the hell you are, STAY THE f*** AWAY FROM USCF. f*** that, I love that dude. Made life somewhat liveable for years to come. If the Cubs would've won the WS, I would have crawled in a cave and never come out.

Yanks angry at Showalter for pulling stars vs. Ang
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 05:04 PM) Regardless Slappy is the one completely at fault. He proves day in and day out that he is the biggest douchebag in sports. I am so glad he didn't come to the Red Sox. You didnt have to put my username in the title of your thread. Utterly immature if you ask me. A-rod is a tool, everyone knows it. But it was very very bush league for Buck to pack it in like that. If you know anything about him, he is a complete ass, as documented by his feuds with our club. Both sides are at fault in this situation, and Im glad im not a fan of either. Oh, and the indians ruined their chances, not the yankees.

Newhan/fan incident last night
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) I don't understand what you're getting at? Do you think I'm a bandwagon Red Sox fan? I just honestly have no idea where you're taking this argument and if you think I'm a bandwagon Red Sox fan, my biography will be on newstands next week. no no no. If you read my post, I am saying I see it from your view. I know you are a long time Red Sox fan, and I stated as such. You just cant get so defensive and try and stretch an argument about the white sox bandwagon vs the Red Sox just to make it look like you arent a bandwagon fan. Being a fan of a popular team comes with its negatives, and this is one of them. And if you had a book coming out at your age, that would be impressive.

Newhan/fan incident last night
Listen man. You may LOVE the Red Sox. But the fact is, they are the popular choice. I have been a fan of a team that is popular only once. The Chicago Bulls in the 1990's were arguably one of the most popular teams of all time in any sport. Obviously growing up a fan when they were terrible, I was a true fan. Many people jumped on the bandwagon when they were good, and it was something that was slightly annoying. But you still have to be honest with yourself and realize that your team will now get better coverage and treatment by the media. Its something you have to deal with, real fan or not. The White Sox are not one of these teams, and may never be. And thats ok with me. But it doesnt change the fact that the Red Sox and Yankees, right now, are a media circus.
