  1. just ship him to chi-town, some Lou's some portillos, and we will fatten him up
  2. QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) rockraines, cotts is an example of why you don't stick young guys into the major league starting rotation before they are ready. apples and oranges, what about mark??
  3. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) For the majority of those teams how has that worked? ummm well, not to keep beating up this argument while im watching a great game, the first two teams on the list made it to the NLCS with one winning the WS, but other than that, not at all
  4. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 03:05 PM) Jesus man, the guy is still only 21 years old. What else do you want me to say? Exactly! First of all, I didnt know that 21 year old athletes were not ready for the big time Especially when cross town you have had this be the case for several years in a row. Second of all, you dont need to stick him in the rotation right now, but frankly he will be ready this year, and if anyone falters, BMAC is obviously your next best option. If you think the fact that he has pitched several innings of work giving up one hit against one of the best offensive teams in the league is a fluke, then thats fine. But its hard to deny that there is something special about this kid.
  5. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 03:01 PM) Teams do this with most pitchers. McCarthy has known nothing but success in the minors. What happens if he comes to the majors and gets rocked? Of course that would hurt his confidence. and what happens if he comes up and succeeds. And since when do teams do this with most pitchers?? Cubs, marlins, mets, cardinals, dodgers, etc have all brought up young guys after a season or two in the minors.
  6. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 02:55 PM) Because they don't want to just throw him in the rotation right away. If he gets rocked during the season, it would shatter his confidence. says who? This kid has more confidence than any pitcher we have seen com through the ranks in the past several years. He wasnt heralded when he was drafted, he doesnt have electric stuff, yet mows down more people than anyone. If you know him personally maybe thats a different case, but this kid is special and I say lets see what he can do. As soon as anyone looks bad, put him in the rotation.
  7. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) Not this year. Gload singles to right field. It's now first and third no outs. as far as im concerned, so far, he looks better than half of our rotation, I dont see why not this year.
  8. uh yeah, if he is really as good as he looks, mark, freddy, bmac, the three-headed monster????
  9. ummmm who looked better BMAC or our ACE Mark
  10. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) Really? Looks pretty smooth to me. you dont think it looks a little bit whippy?????
  11. BMAC's arm motion makes me worry about elbow surgery
  12. im watching the game on MLB TV so its def broadcasted
  13. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 10:22 AM) Self Defense? Nothing about that picture says self defense...at least to me...I guess its time to drop it and move on. His pictures doesnt say anything about anything, its just a musician.
  14. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 10:14 AM) Do you remember when the Sox traded Sosa? Sosa was a below avg hitter with a lot of K's before he was dealt. He had a ton of potential. It took him about 5 yrs of ML service before he clicked and went from being a below 250 hitter to a 300 hitter. Wow, did you actually bring up Sosa?? Without his Roids, he is still a below average fielder and hitter. His power numbers are all that saved him, and they were primarily artificial. Borchard has some power potential, but even watching him run the bases, something seems off about him. Its happened before, sometimes there are promising players that do not make it, this is the last time we are going to send him back down to the minors, we should either trade him, or someone is going to take him off waivers. This is the time to deal.
  15. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) I'm at the point right now, that whenever I see Levine on tv, I get upset. It's not good for my health. As for this 'rumor', if they want to deal Borchard to the Pirates, fine. If they want to trade Harris, fine, just make sure whoever we get back has some speed. I'd like to see Ozzie have options at the end of a game if he needs someone to run. I just dont like him at all, when he's on TV hes disgusting to me, and when he is on the radio all I can hear is his lisp. I cant stand that ass.
  16. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 08:53 PM) I think it's hot when girls love sports. I agree for sure, but I dated a girl that was a cubs fan once, and it didnt last long. You have to be a fan of the RIGHT team as well, but yeah, its hot.
  17. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 07:51 AM) I never said wearing your hat sideways meant you were a gangster...I said I was sick of the thug/gangster type mentality, which is what its about. Look at FlippedOutPunk's avatar and signature...what's that about? I don't find it gangster or cool or whatever, I find it offensive. Those are pictures of a guy who is going to kill someone...right? Certainly appears that way. Why is that cool? As for my stereotypes are correct comment....I should have said that a lot of them have some truth to them. Not all. For example, I'm bohemian, and a common stereotype would be that I am cheap, or thrifty. And I am. Does that mean all bohemians are ? No...but I know a lot of them, and I would say most of them fit this description. Ah yes, the well known Bohemian stereotype Being a sox fan, and being from Stickney, you should be one to know that stereotypes are not usually right, and are portrayed by people who truly dont know whats going on. If someone wants an avatar on a message board to involve a rapper, or some gangster stuff, than that is their perogative, just like if you want your music group's quotes on there. Its individuality, and its a message board.
  18. QUOTE(KWs OK for Me @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) Random question, anyone know where to find any 1-2 or 2-5 games in the suburbs in the summer? no, but if you feel like drivin go to trump in indiana they have a pretty decent poker room, good 3-6 and a really good no-limit on thursdays
  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 03:37 PM) Something that seems to happen to Felix is he gets 2 quick outs and then next thing you know there is a 3 spot on the board. I know rogo just made an error but there seems to be some let down in Felix after the first 2 outs. he got out of it, that should make you happy enough
  20. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) The amazing thing about stereotypes, they are usually correct. I think my assessment is dead on. wow, possibly one of the most ignorant things ever said on this board. How can you say that stereotypes are correct. That would mean you are white trash, you live in a trailer park, you run on the field at games, you are uneducated, and you are too poor to live in the nice area of the city, just because you are a white sox fan. I for one think stereotypes are bulls***.
  21. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 03:36 PM) That'd be Felix Diaz, who is looking damn good. Error by Rogo, runner on first, two outs. the radio guy keeps saying brian diaz
  22. i wasnt so much concerned about the length of the swing, but the plane of it. There are a few players that compensated for the length of their swing by quickness and adjusting the swing height and plane.
  23. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 09:23 AM) huh? You mean offer them $10.00 above face value for each ticket? So 2 box tix at $80.00 face, offer $100.00? 10 dollars total, they ALWAYS come down on price ALWAYS
