  1. QUOTE(deezpac @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 01:04 PM) I absolutly hate The Wrightwood Tap (at least at night) so i would rather not go there. I would be very interested in talking over a bar and turning it into a Sox bar. I am planning on gong to as many games as my budget will allow however when the Sox are out of town or i have to work that night i would like to have a bar where i can watch the game. I have close access to the red line so i could take the train to the south side for certain games. What are some of the bars you guys would recomend? im not a big fan of that bar at night either, but I always look for places that are empty during games so we can always switch to the sox games. If there are alot of you guys who live on the northside I think we should find a place to take over for sure. I work at Grand central on the weekends and cotts is there quite a bit so we have been watching games there since last season, but who knows about this season.
  2. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) There is a good bar in Westmont called The Neutral Zone. It's swarmed with Sox fans during the season. My brother actually met Jamie Burke there. I also think Buehrle's ex girlfriend was a waitress there. shes a bartender, but yeah she works there. I used to go there when I lived in the burbs, very very underrated food.
  3. DO NOT go to BW3's on lincoln, I live right there and its an indians fan base. Since I too live in the middle of cub-ville in LP, I am always on the look out for a bar as well. Last season we took up with wrightwood tap which is right across the street from where I live, but im sure there is a better place with less idiot cubs fans. Im interested to know as well. Maybe we should all just designate a place and take it over. Im sure we can drive some of those cubs fans right out the door.
  4. uh look likes the human growth hormone has made his head grow a bit, the helmet doesnt even fit on his head anymore
  5. I'll take the bad player, just to be different.
  6. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) I was barely a teenager when McCuddy's was torn down. I did have the privilege of going to the final game ever at old Comiskey and the first game at New Comiskey. What bars are around there now? Jimbo's? What else? I've always believed that there is a gold mine of opportunity in that area. There are several places around the park where someone could develop a couple of new bars and maybe a restaurant. All we need is the money........anyone want to donate???
  8. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 04:45 PM) Yea.. we got those also but gave them to friends. That was nice of them, and you'll like the club level there. never sat in the club level, I figured it was like every other place, so we opted for those instead of field level. I hope its got some sweet stuff. I have only been to miller once before and it was awesome
  9. the sox gave us free tickets for having seasons!!!!! Im sitting in the club section, sounds good to me!!!!!
  10. we are already stranding alot of runners, lets fix that this year
  11. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 11:01 AM) First post of this thread has a link to the Colorado game feed... There's no coverage in Chicago. nah, its on ESPN radio 1000 at 1:55 pm www.espnradio1000.com
  12. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 08:12 AM) Read the rest of what I said.. They had others step up.. and if you think for one moment that Boston won it on the shoulders of Manny and Ortiz.. you are mistaken.. everyone knows that the Pitching and Defense when championships.. If Boston would have lost Pedro Schilling and Caberea.. They yeah I would say they could use the injury bug.. But for us to blame iinjuries is unacceptable, injuries are apart of the game, good teams overcome them.. ala Twins and Angels... for once I agree with "i hate KW". Schilling and Foulke really helped them win the WS. But you have to remember who the MVP was and how much Ortiz carried them especially when one swing won them several games.
  13. QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) When healthy i disagree very much so. so you are saying, that at this point in their careers, Frank and Paul are better than David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez???????
  14. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 09:28 AM) Sounds like he is still scared to steal to me. sounds like he is still dumb as rocks to me
  15. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 12:34 AM) The only problem I have with that scenario is what if Crede sucks it up again this season, and you lose both of them. Fields will have to stay at 3B in that scenario, unless we can sign a FA 1B / DH or 3B. Fields will stay at 3B, I think Rogowski is going to be a stud, so I think they are grooming him to take over for Paul, then insert anderson, sweeney, BMAC, and we just developed our team from within, yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. QUOTE(LostInBoston @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) From Trib Rogowski is going to be such a stud, I hope they never get ride of that kid
  17. QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 11:13 PM) Why will he get more rbi oppurtunities with podsednik and and an unproven hitter in the united states hitting in front of him? because a majority of his big hits are done with the bases empty. 41 hr's should merit more than 117 rbi's. We need some table setters
  18. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 09:21 PM) take out Manny and Ortiz and the red sox dont make the playoffs but you dont buy injuries right manny+ortiz>>>>>>>>>>maggs+frank plus without those two, we scored more runs than most, and hit more bombs than most
  19. Yet another dissapointing Michigan receiver. Do they dare try Braylon out, hoping he is not another bust??? I hope they draft a receiver, wouldnt it be nice to possibly have the best receving corps in our division
  20. This is exactly why Ozzie was quote that we "got rid of" the players that didnt want to get back at Hunter. They are all gone, Lee, Mike Jackson. I would rather have a team that plays hard and barely misses the playoffs, than the one we have been fielding. Ultimatley I would like to make the playoffs and go far, but one step at a time is fine by me. This is a major reason why I really like the new bulls, they play hard every game, which is what we need the sox to start doing.
  21. I dont like the fighting, but I mentioned this last year, I think Rogowski is going to turn out to be a great player.
  22. im telling you, im not against him getting a chance if there is an injury on the sox. I think the fact that he is not an overpowering pitcher, and a more location and finesse pitcher, might bode welll for his development. He is sorta like a maddux thrower, I would like to see him up sooner than later.
